someone was going on a socially distanced walk. No, it's just a walk, unless your 16, you don't have your arms wrapped around each other.

Tbf I met a friend yesterday who I’d normally have given a massive hug but didn’t. I can quite happily change here though because I have friends I hug and friends I don’t hug.... there is no real rhyme or reason to it really 🤷🏻‍♀️

InsaneInTheViralMembrane · 14/06/2020 21:11

I’ve seen my real hair colour for the first time in 20 years - amazingly not grey, but I’ve got a rogue grey in my eyebrows. Whatevs.

One of my neighbours is a hairdresser. We usually sit in the garden chatting but yesterday I spent 90 minutes in her kitchen drinking coffee. Murdering gits. She’s ready to go back to work - reckons she had it end of feb anyway when she collapsed at my back door and I had to call an ambulance for her. She’s just going to operate on a one-in, one-out and has PPE.

bakingcupcakes · 14/06/2020 21:14

I don't visit any other threads except this one now. It makes me feel better. Also because it moves so fast I don't actually have time to read anything else!

I feel very anxious tonight. We have an appointment tomorrow at the hospital and I really don't want to go. It's bothering me immensely. Thank fuck I booked an early slot so I won't spend half the day worrying. I don't want to wear a face covering although I accept I have too and I really don't want DS touching everything/anything. I feel like this every time I go but usually because I'm frightened we'll pick up norovirus. This time I'm frightened we'll get told off. I don't know why I care but I do.

HairyFloppins · 14/06/2020 21:19

OMG at that thread about coming to the end of this.

WTF is wrong with these miserable bloody people?

LadyOfTheImprovisedBath · 14/06/2020 21:27

bakingcupcakes - we had to take one of our children down to A&E near start of this - they were in over night.

Everyone was fine/nice - they gave masks at door - helped people find there way around - it was split in two covid/non-covid and didn't want people getting lost. There was no shouting at people about rules - it was very calm and quiet.

My parents have to go soon and I know they're worried for similar reasons - they get confused and mobilty is declining as well so it's all a bit daunting.

MyPantsAreGreen · 14/06/2020 21:31

These threads are such a ray of light - like minded people being able to speak freely. I suggest AD badges so we know we don't have to walk in the road when we see on coming pedestrians!

TheGreatWave · 14/06/2020 21:31

baking my DD went for a MRI scan near the beginning, 'clean' entrance, a few toilets and seats taped off but all normal.

As I said on a previous thread MIL is now in hospital (non-covid) and DH has been a couple of times to drop things off/ pick up dirty washing. I think from tomorrow masks need to be worn but apparently people will be there handing them out.

Hope it goes ok.

Nihiloxica · 14/06/2020 21:33

WTF is wrong with these miserable bloody people?

It's the most exciting thing that has happened in their lives.

It had made them feel important and righteous and given their shitty lives a purpose.

TheGreatWave · 14/06/2020 21:37

Decided tonight I would cut ds's hair (one with autism -12) well it looks ok to me, as a middle aged mom, but to him it is the end of the world, he is refusing to go out ever again. It was bad, he had a bath after, and he hates anyone near the bathroom, but he allowed me in to comfort him.

I am no hairdresser.

Orangeblossom78 · 14/06/2020 21:39

Argh that thread is awful. It's odd there was another much more positive one about the easing recently, they seem to congregate with similar posters don't they. Like permission to dementor

InsaneInTheViralMembrane · 14/06/2020 21:39

If mine get too lippy I threaten them silently by making “snip snip” motions with my fingers. They’re terrified. I’ve assured them it’ll be fine and I’ll just watch a YouTube video and figure it out.

Teateaandmoretea · 14/06/2020 21:40

stay alert, this is not the time to go to Primark

Pure gold.

I have made a new week resolution to not post anywhere on mumsnet apart from this thread.

Teateaandmoretea · 14/06/2020 21:41

A new strain of dementor. The Primark dementor 😂😂😂

Mascotte · 14/06/2020 21:41

I think they're excited by the Chinese outbreak... and the blinking R rate again.

So many fuckwits in the world.

Ibake · 14/06/2020 21:42

Oh dear god, you warned me but I was curious so snuck a peak. Fucksake. Think we might need to start launching covert rescue strategies, there's some good decent people on there fighting valiantly but it's a lost cause. Should we go scoop 'em up and lead them into the light ie invite them over here?!

Mascotte · 14/06/2020 21:42

Oh, @Tea I was really giggling at that

AnxiousElephant77 · 14/06/2020 21:43

I'm taking dd to Primark on Saturday. Poor kid had to spend her 13th birthday in lockdown and I think she deserves a bit of retail therapy, and they can all get to fuck.

Mascotte · 14/06/2020 21:45

Complacency is rampant.

Mascotte · 14/06/2020 21:45

Is that possible? Musing.

Ibake · 14/06/2020 21:46

@tea my personal fav was this gem:

"Hardly, the new daily infections are rising.

They’ll contribute to the death figures eventually."

No appreciation whatsoever that we only used to test people poorly enough to be hospitalised whereas now anyone can get a test.

Wow, reason has deserted them

Teateaandmoretea · 14/06/2020 21:50

Well quite and not to mention that everyone is tested in hospital regardless. So if you go in with your head hanging off and catch it in ICU then you are a ‘covid death’ ......

People popping to Primark don’t really influence that scenario directly.

Teateaandmoretea · 14/06/2020 21:52

@AnxiousElephant77 people WILL DIE

I am intending to take the dds too. I may avoid Saturday though, not because I am worried about covid but I don’t like queueing 😁

Dowser · 14/06/2020 21:56

Khione..have you looked into the Bach flower system

There’s some fabulous fb groups and a really good app
They are very good and very underrated

Are you well up on nutrients and supplements?
There’s an app called Bach flower, white background with pale green 6 petal daisy that I think is excellent
Dr Bach was way ahead of his time with these
You need to take for about 3 weeks

AnxiousElephant77 · 14/06/2020 21:59

@Teateaandmoretea I know, it's going to be absolutely bloody awful. Dp is at work though and taking ds with us is inconceivable 😱
