Bin bags, why the hell are they impossible to open.

Kaathesnake · 07/06/2020 04:28

Aeroplanes... it just seems ‘wrong’ that something that big is in the air!!
My eyes are telling my brain what they’re seeing... but my brain is saying “No! That’s not right, it shouldn’t be up there” I can’t look at them.
Helicopters not so bad, maybe cos I can see the rotors making it stay up... but big planes... no.

Kaathesnake · 07/06/2020 04:50

YY to glass chopping boards... I imagine them shattering and shards of lethal glass everywhere!
Also YY to open backed stairs, I feel that I’m going to go through them and mangle my legs! Likewise, curly stairs.. hate them... all I see is injuries
Turbines... I once asked a man who worked on them ‘ do they ever come off?’ expecting him to laugh and say no, don’t be daft.... he got his phone out and showed me photos of them hanging off and how they break when they DO COME OFF!! 😱
People who hold babies and young children with a fag in their mouth or hand... I have to fight an urge to go and ‘save’ the baby from being burnt!
Collapsing Multi-storey car parks... I rush to get out of them
Nipple rings... my Dson had one for nearly 20 years... I could never bear to touch it, gave me that itchy-teeth feeling!
Mums that push the pran/ buggy out into the traffic...😱

TenShortStories · 07/06/2020 05:50

Monkeys dressed as people and the feel of microfibre cloths on my fingertips.

thatmustbenigelwiththebrie · 07/06/2020 06:01

I have a fear of holes. I never knew it had a name! It makes me want to puke. Mostly I know when not to look at things. But sometimes I end up driving behind a lorry with lots of scaffolding poles lined up and that's my biggest nightmare as I can't look away. There they are all holey and symmetrical and it's just GRIM. 🤢

Stillfunny · 07/06/2020 06:06

Driving over a bridge with deep water. Any deep water really , especially if it is dark .

LunaNorth · 07/06/2020 06:21

Car transporters. The cars are definitely going to slide off and crush me as I drive behind.

TheAwakening · 07/06/2020 06:56

Chalk, polystyrene, and sandpaper. All of them make me feel cold/hot, shivery, and sick. Sometimes at night my brain will replay if I've touched some earlier in the day, and it stops me getting to sleep 🤷🏻‍♀️

Afishcallledbob · 07/06/2020 07:09

Mine are more sound based.

I feel almost murderous hearing someone hi going change or their keys as it hurts my ears.

The noise of someone sweeping a hard brush on concrete makes me feel physically sick and the same with polystyrene.

I don't have a problem with going downhill unless it's one of those roads when it goes down really steep and then up again at a similar angle I think my mind thinks I'm going to hit the bottom like a wall.

pollyskettles · 07/06/2020 07:28

Railway crossings. I will not drive over one ever.

midnightstar66 · 07/06/2020 07:32

Metal buttons, like on lifts, pedestrian crossings etc. Either have to get dc to press them or use my phone or a water bottle or something. I just can't touch them with my bare hands.

InvisibleToEveryone · 07/06/2020 07:41

Well, I'm glad I posted about that big of the M5 now.
Everyone takes the pee out of me for hating it.

To drive it I have to stick to the middle lane and just look forward.

Adding to this, those roads that are bridges across vast expanses of water.....nope wouldn't drive across them.

Actually the big bridge in Bristol over the water, again centre lane and look forward.

Fifthtimelucky · 07/06/2020 07:43

I am normally fine with bridges and don't have a problem with that section of the M5, though don't do it it often, but there is a bridge just outside Le Havre, the Pont de Normandie, that gave me a bit of fright when I first encountered it.

I also hate driving through the Blackwall tunnel, especially when going in/down. All other tunnels are fine.

midnightstar66 · 07/06/2020 07:46

To drive it I have to stick to the middle lane and just look forward.

Can't you get prosecuted for that now? 😆 Don't blame your though, even the picture gave me the fear, thankfully I've never had to drive on it. Being on the lower part especially would scare the life out of me, waiting from an unseen car from above to land on top of me 😬

blueglassandfreesias · 07/06/2020 07:57

People resting their feet on a table which makes their knees bend inwards! I can’t stop imagining them snapping back.

Amstelbier · 07/06/2020 07:58

Hot food next to cold, particularly coleslaw and chips.

If we have a pub meal and the coleslaw is next to the chips it ruins the whole thing but I never say anything as I’m sure they would think I’m crazy.

I tend to order meals like curry or chilli so I know the won’t put that dreaded dollop of coleslaw on the plate.

Oblomov20 · 07/06/2020 08:00

Trypophobia - the holes in hands and feet, make me cringe.

Passthecake30 · 07/06/2020 08:01

Those big holes people have in their ear lobes. Can’t stand the look of them and yet... keep looking!
Cling film
Peach skin, too furry
Any remote control pointing in my direction must be moved
Lifts with glass walls
Stairs with just the steps and not the risers
Really steep and fast escalators
I drive in the middle of the QE2 bridge, and must drive on the right hand side of the QE2 tunnel.

Knucklehead101 · 07/06/2020 08:01

Black wall tiles make me feel very strange indeed

pollyskettles · 07/06/2020 08:02

If you don't like bridges over water then never go over the Pontcysyllte aquaduct, great views but it's terrifying.

Passthecake30 · 07/06/2020 08:02

And sandals that go between the big toe Envy can’t stand the feeling and freaks me out to see... summer is not a good time for that Grin

changeofname890 · 07/06/2020 08:05

Big bushy beards, can't bear to look, all that food that must be hiding in them! And those earrings that make your hole get bigger and bigger, makes me feel nauseous if I see one 🤢

weepingwillow22 · 07/06/2020 08:08

Deformed vegetables. I don't mind minor deformaties but ones that are twisted and wierd really give me the shivers. My OH thinks my phobia is funny and was chasing me around the house with a deformed potato the other day.

Mrsjayy · 07/06/2020 08:16

Baby slings I hate seeing them I have visions of the carrier tripping and falling

dicksplash · 07/06/2020 08:19

I have that Trypophobia and its weird the things that can set me off. As a child my mums food scales must have been burnt or something but they had this little oval with loads of little bubble holes in. I hated it, it made me quiver every time I had to use them!
