I heard that @DominaShantotto what the fuck is that about! They should be shortening it by now. But now we're going to be locked up at least another month? I can't fucking take it.

Cattermole · 02/06/2020 21:10

@DominaShantotto

Knitting black wool? Are you fecking mad?!
Spinning it and knitting it both :-) if it wasn't dark I'd put a photo up it's like a sort of natural self striping thing. It's bloody lush. You couldn't buy it made!!
SpnBaby1967 · 02/06/2020 21:11

E45 is really good for sunburn. Tea towel in the freezer as well Grin. You need to get the temp of your skin down as it'll keep burning. Cool bath, but not too cool.

Also no more weekend briefings as they weren't getting the viewing figures apparently (didn't think it was bloody Eastenders) - more chances for Boris to doss about and do fuck all, and Dom to go for Barnard Castle eye tests.
littlbrowndog · 02/06/2020 21:12

In Scotland Nicola said you the people have been bad. Better behave or I Nicola will put in law stuff to stop you ever having lives again

She can do one. Am not going back to misery and gloom

pollyhemlock · 02/06/2020 21:13

Checking in.

DominaShantotto · 02/06/2020 21:13

I'm resisting the temptation to start replying to the Ikea horrified posts of DEATH that I didn't think they did flatpack pathogens.

fartingsparkles · 02/06/2020 21:14

Bloody hell, another thread!!

@RubberDinghyRapids that's horrible, you poor thing!!

@SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito damp refrigerated face cloths help and then refrigerated moisturiser. Been there too many times - I wear f50 now.

I have felt shit all day. Had a bit of wobble trying to get to sleep last night and couldn't stop crying. But a chat with a friend - and a bit of vent and I am saying fuck em! I don't want to go to shops, have been cutting and colouring my own hair for a good while and can manage on click and collect. I want to see one other adult. For longer than 15 minutes, and I want to hug them - so I will.

Bollss · 02/06/2020 21:14

Yes apparently Boris has committed to appearing once a week. I mean it's not like it's his fucking job or anything.

Agh I'm fed up.

Drivingdownthe101 · 02/06/2020 21:14

@DominaShantotto

Oh yeah and bad news - it was on Sky Breaking twitter feed. Reviews of restrictions now 28 days between them and not 21 days.

They're never fecking gonna let us out properly.

What the fuck?
BakewellTarts · 02/06/2020 21:20

I saw that but reality is unless the figures go pear shaped every day there is less justification for lockdown and more quiet rebellion. And more pressure to release restrictions. Just look at how policy has changed overnight in respect of the shielded. I could see more of the same happening. Anyway tomorrows briefing should have some interesting questions.

BakewellTarts · 02/06/2020 21:22

And Boris can't resist trying to be popular he'll want to give something on days he appears. So him being on once a week is a good thing.

Bollss · 02/06/2020 21:23

Oh @bakewelltarts I am praying you are right.

justasking111 · 02/06/2020 21:29

Wales Drakeford only appears once a week as rule and he will not give good news every time he is more of a hellfire and brimstone chapel preacher.

BarkandCheese · 02/06/2020 21:32

28 days? Ffs.

DH was saying that the conservatory need cleaning again, and it felt like ages ago he’d done back at the beginning of lockdown. I pointed out it was ages ago, it’s getting close to three months now. Three months, that’s a quarter of a year, a whole season. It’ll be another three months after that before DD even has a sniff of going back to school.

It’s crazy isn’t it? DS started walking a couple of days before lockdown. He’s now a proper toddler... runs everywhere. DD1 (6) has lost 4 teeth in lockdown. DD2 (4) has gone from reading basic Biff and Chip books to reading fluently. Grandparents have missed so much Sad.
Institutkarite · 02/06/2020 21:43

I'm just checking in to this new thread. I don't post much because I'm in Portugal and many, almost all restrictions have been lifted here.
My main home is in Wales so I'm interested in reactions to the madness there.
Kirsty knobhead Williams is my Welsh Assembly member, she's full on dementor, as she's also the Education Secretary. Schools won't be going back anytime soon. In my opinion.
I watch these threads just for the relief of seeing like minded people and not nutters.
Dear God, some posters have lost all sense and critical thinking.

HesterShaw1 · 02/06/2020 21:45

My friend and I went on a long walk today. We didn't see anyone else close enough for a killing spree until we got to the beach where SELFISH people were FLOCKING. We were chatting about the fact that lockdown started a day after the equinox and the first clap was in the dark. And now it's nearly midsummer and we're still bloody here, still not working, still worrying about money.

Still my nephew went back to nursery yesterday, literally with screams of joy at seeing his little friends again. Brought a tear to my eye just hearing about it. The other two won't even be back before September. It's all so fucked up.

Dowser · 02/06/2020 21:50

Dowser · 02/06/2020 21:54

Thank you everyone
If you have thé good fortune to live near a national forest, check it out first
You might be surprised how relaxed it is

fartingsparkles · 02/06/2020 21:55

@Hester it IS fucked up.

I can go and buy a new car, go to an outdoor market, soon I will be able to go to non essential shops. I could have a cleaner, gardener, tradesperson at my house - but dc1 can't go to school (which he would love) and neither of my kids can go to the swings. I can't see one person outside my household (ie another adult) who brings happiness to my life and my kids' lives, despite the fact that neither of us are having contact with others.

Still, I am currently enjoying a favourite programme and ogling the leading male a bit!

Pertella · 02/06/2020 21:57

Spoke to my mum today. She has COPD so has been isolating for the last 12 weeks.

We were chatting about the situation with the kids and she said shes had plenty of years trying to prevent herself from catching anything and is still able to do so now without the whole world stopping. No one gave a fuck about 'keeping her safe' before so why are they so bothered about me now.

Pootle40 · 02/06/2020 21:59

Marking

Weedsnseeds1 · 02/06/2020 21:59

Had another nice picnic this evening. Only other people were a group of teenagers, consuming illicit pizzas.
They carried the boxes back to their cars once they were finished, so no littering issues 😁
