Thanks WishingChair.... alas I'm not great at being stuck indoors with a 15m old but a glass of wine and an early night will do me the world of good. Grin

@DominaShantotto

Greetings - marking my place while DD does her Cubs meeting on Zoom. I am so fecking sick of Zoom shit.

Actually the best thing about the kids being back at school is that I actually get some interaction in the interminable queues to collect them.

DS(12) has a zoom baritone horn lesson at 9am every Tuesday. Tuesday is my day off and with no school run to do I really resent not only being awake in time to get it ready and logged in, but also being dressed (in case I end up in the shot while setting it up!) and more importantly being subjected to the delightful sounds of a badly played baritone horn before I have had enough caffeine to feel even slightly charitable towards my offspring...

Don't ask what a baritone horn is, I'd never heard of one until DS switched to it from a trombone. It is Lound.

Gammeldragz · 02/06/2020 19:45

LOUD!
Damn fat thumbs from all the lockdown wine and pizza...

Not much dementoring today, had to go to work for a meeting so went to tesco and didn't wear my mask as it was too hot. Only one other person wearing one so that's calmed down a bit. Had a good laugh with a couple in there who were reversing down the aisle so as not to go 'the wrong way'.

ZOMBIE BEACH THREAD ALERT Grin

I am feeling much better than earlier having vented to a few trusted friends and had my daily Sikora fix. Also my favourite Thai place has finally, finally reopened! The best salt and pepper tofu in London is on the way!

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 02/06/2020 19:51

I would kill for salt and pepper tofu!

TeacupDrama · 02/06/2020 19:51

love the title , we have a tiny beach at the side of the loch just below our house there are now people fishing, the people I don't mind most are very pleasant but picking up their litter I do
Don't think I'll catch covid from maybe putting my sandal where their sandal might have been two high tides ago, not that I lick the bottom of my sandals anyway

MinesaPinot · 02/06/2020 19:52

Marking my zombie place!

Delta1 · 02/06/2020 19:56

Hmm, well I've just arrived here on the zombie beach, expecting it to be nice and empty and am really pissed off that you're all here too! Go home! It's against da roolz! I've got as close as I can to take pics of you all to rant on me Facebook.

LivinLaVidaLoki · 02/06/2020 19:58

My two favourite tweets of the day.
I was just wondering about the recovery data we were promised.....

Shared this on old thread. Unions are spluttering as expected but they did same in England.

Go for it. More chance of DD going back if less go in www.walesonline.co.uk/news/education/options-table-re-opening-schools-18349540

Now then, all are welcome on the zombie beach, but you will be evicted if you poo in a rock pool.

Thanks for the new thread, every time I start to disheartened about this whole debacle I come here for a dose of sanity.

I have had a very difficult couple of days at work, I am suffering from absolutely horrendously hideous hayfever and cannot breathe through my nose at all.

Wondering whether to have a glass of wine, and also exactly how many bags of Iced Gems are too many bags of iced gems to eat in one sitting? 🤔

LivinLaVidaLoki · 02/06/2020 20:15

Have as many as you need @spnbaby coroncalories dont count.

TheGreatWave · 02/06/2020 20:17

Evening all.

DS had a good day at school, apparently was well settled and worked well. I wanted him to go twice a week, he offered once a month, so we compromised down to once a week. HOY has said he can go five days a week if needed.

Orangeblossom78 · 02/06/2020 20:18

Also got the sunburn and hay fever here! We have an Ice cream van in the park now Grin and also a cafe pen for take away. No dementing around it, all seemed calm and normal which is good.

Might try and take the boys there tomorrow to try and rag them off their screens, they are getting seriously addicted to them

littlbrowndog · 02/06/2020 20:19

🧟‍♂️🧟‍♂️🧟‍♂️🧟‍♂️ zombie checking in

Thank gawd for rain

HesterShaw1 · 02/06/2020 20:19

Hello

I have been lurking and following and following and lurking.

I'm so over all this crap

bookworm14 · 02/06/2020 20:20

Checking in.

DD is going back to school next week! Reception is not going back properly but she has been offered a place in the ‘keyworker bubble’, as there are very few actual keyworkers’ kids so they have space. Really pleased.

Orangeblossom78 · 02/06/2020 20:21

Hoping for rain tomorrow too. It has been baking in the flat and grass all dry and yellow on the park. We need it

Orangeblossom78 · 02/06/2020 20:21

Hi @HesterShaw1

HesterShaw1 · 02/06/2020 20:23

Just trying to find out when my business can re open and literally NO ONE will give me a straight answer. No one wants to take responsibility. It's a small niche industry which does involve interaction with the public (an activity) but I have drawn up an exhaustive and thorough risk assessment and infection mitigation control, but no one wants to even look at it. One body says "yes crack on", the council says "no of course not", the licencing authority says "yes fine".

It's BEYOND frustrating.

I have had a swim in the sea though. That was nice.

HesterShaw1 · 02/06/2020 20:23

Thanks for the welcomes. I will try and do better at posting and joining in!

ExpletiveDelighted · 02/06/2020 20:24

Signing in, thank you.

Someone asked about the word tombstoning for jumping off cliffs. I used to live in a town with a pier and jumping off it was always called tombstoning. People (invariably young men) were seriously injured every year Sad.
