In my case - a pet urn. A full one.

Most of the previous owners belongings. Clothes etc all over the sitting room, and 2 empty bottles of wines in the middle of the room. They had obviously thought I know I am supposed to move tomorrow but bugger it let's get pissed.

When my parents moved into a new house in 1972 they found a dolls house, complete with furniture. The previous owners' daughter, who was a teenager, had decided to leave it behind for me. I was 7 at the time and I was delighted.

adelaya · 30/05/2020 18:21

A latex posing pouch behind a radiator 😳 🤢

And in a different house a box containing glass eyes 👀🤢

Thisisreallyveryouting · 30/05/2020 18:23

I’ve name changed for this as super outing (cancel the cheque, penis beaker etc). A full size, glow in the dark, fully rotating head of Jesus with spacers for incense around it. You could hear me scream across the the gardens when I found it in the loft. In fairness, the actual full size picture of the Pope in the toilet should have been a clue (they didn’t leave that though).

LynnThese4reSEXPEOPLE · 30/05/2020 18:31

@adelaya sounds a bit Silence of the Lambs!

@Thisisreallyveryouting that ounds like it should be a centrepiece - no - a talking point in any new home. The closest I've seen to that is a shop in Lourdes that sells Virgin Mary glow in the dark carriage clock/snow globes that play "Ave Maria" on the hour

A dish of mandarin oranges in the fridge. Hundreds of empty gin and whisky bottles under the floorboards, discovered when we did some building work.

Thisisreallyveryouting · 30/05/2020 18:37

It certainly was a talking point! I had to get rid of it though as it was just soo creepy Grin

EmbarrassedUser · 30/05/2020 18:39

I long to find a first edition Harry Potter or a long lost Picasso 😂 Sadly, the most I’ve ever found is a couple of empty crisp packets. Extremely jealous of people finding money and laughing at the Princess Di fanatic!

QuestaVecchiaCasa · 30/05/2020 18:43

A history exercise book in the attic. The previous owner had had the same teacher as me and the lessons we had followed were almost identical 30 years later.

BanburyBun · 30/05/2020 18:46

One of those giant whiskey bottles - with lots of teeth in it Shock

RaskolnikovsGarret · 30/05/2020 18:48

Coffin lids (but no coffins) in the garage.

Zaphodsotherhead · 30/05/2020 18:51

@DramaAlpaca - how incredibly sweet!

I've just moved and my new house was impeccable when I moved in. Holiday cottage clean! Pretty much the only thing left was a dog's kerchief in the understairs cupboard, and a box of chocolates for me!

SilverOtter · 30/05/2020 18:53

@BanburyBun wtf😳

TooGood2BeTrue · 30/05/2020 18:54

Asbestos 😖.

Littlejayx · 30/05/2020 18:55

Skid marks in the toilet and pubes In the bath

anothermansmother · 30/05/2020 18:56

A mountain of wine glasses and their stems and an ashtray (overflowing) on top of the bay window ( outside the master bedroom)
Mountains of dirty nappies the the loft cupboard ( I had been wondering what the ammonia smell was in the attic room) 🤢

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 30/05/2020 18:57

Newspaper underneath the carpet they'd left behind, which included wedding photos of our previous neighbours. Very spooky

LettyBriggs · 30/05/2020 18:58

A bag of used dildos and vibrators in the loft bedroom 😱

SlipperyLizard · 30/05/2020 19:05

@ LynnThese4reSEXPEOPLE no, they were desiccated rather than slippery

rachyconks · 30/05/2020 19:07

A 90s shellsuit Umbro jacket, a porno and an empty packet of Marlboro in the crawl space. I think a teenager had been enjoying themselves up there!

BelindaBallsover · 30/05/2020 19:14

Toe nail clippings on bathroom floor - nice welcome

butterflycatcher · 30/05/2020 19:18

We found a sword in our cellar. That was a big surprise.

8misskitty8 · 30/05/2020 19:23

Does shit in the toilet and on the seat count ?

We also found old film reels in the attic of the previous owner from when he was a child.
We were nice though, despite them leaving the house in a disgusting state and arranged for them to be returned to them via next door who knew were they had moved too.
I was less polite when I found out his company website was still showing our address and he had sold the domain to an ‘adult site’

Elouera · 30/05/2020 19:26

Parents bought the neighbouring house as an investment when I was young, which hadn't been decorated or cleaned for years. What I thought was a type of artex on the ceiling were in fact sanitary pads which had been thrown or glued up there! Confused
