and we've definitely been light on giving out unmumsnetty (socially distant) hugs in the last couple of months.
Our Deeds for the Day (in case there's any Good Omens fans lurking) were to go to a famed beauty spot and follow up with our first chippie tea in a couple of months.
There's a particular popular hill that DH and I have a long-standing tradition of going up on a Friday evening. We normally only see 2-3 clusters up there at that time (compared to heaving weekend afternoons) and figured that if it was busier than usual, that was still highly unlikely to be problematic. We parked up in a proper, free carpark with only two vehicles. There were only two groupings at the summit. The only flocks were the resident sheep of the baa-ing variety.
Stopped at a chippie on the way home. Had a nice chat with the staff. There was a chap who they had to move off the steps near the queue, and his mobilty wasn't great, so one staff member pulled out a chair and put it in a better spot, then another pulled out a little table to help him.
We were saying about how the social distancing is awkward particularly when different places have their own systems, but we need to live around it and make it workable or it'll all collapse and be a waste of effort.
The chips were gorgeous. We'll remember for future reference!
A good end to a tedious week that's felt very off balance.
