What's been your weirdest purchase lately?

As the title suggests... let's hear about your random midnight online purchases. I think my most unnecessary (perhaps not weird) purchase has been one of those pancake batter dispensers, simply because I was fed up of what a mess we made on the ONE Sunday in forever that we made pancakes.

Six metal peacock and peahen ornaments. I was very pissed at the time.
When I opened my emails the next morning I was more than a little surprised at my drunken purchases. I'd like to say it was a one-off purchase but that'd be a massive lie.

A car spare wheel cover. We've been using the time to give my aged car a bit of a tart up

NowWashYourHandsPlease · 21/05/2020 15:39

Soldering/welding kit

0blio · 21/05/2020 15:46

@spiderlight, that is fantastic!

Cherrysoup · 21/05/2020 15:54

More magnetic balls. I found a lump in Luton airport last summer. I find them useful as a stress ball when I’m working upstairs and thought I’d get more to play with. They're pink.

A personalised wooden chocolate holder Confused for Father’s Day. Safe to say I’ve ran out of gift ideas and sleep deprivation got to me.

Mercedes519 · 21/05/2020 18:09

@silverlight thank you!

I see what you mean about the migraine Grin

Samples of extremely expensive niche perfume (I’ll never afford the full sized bottles, so it was madness to let myself fall in love with the fragrances...which I have!).

A £25 bottle of an ‘alcohol free’ spirit drink to mix with tonic. Complete madness, I know, but I’ve given up booze and I wanted to see if I could replicate that G&T feeling (it’s actually pretty good!).

TheSecondMrsAshwell · 21/05/2020 19:24

An acrylic necklace in the shape of 2 cherries with their stalks. Gorjuss, but I have no idea why I bought it. The chain is too short, it strangles me and it doesn't go with anything in my wardrobe.

Quilting wadding.
I found some fabric in the loft and have decided to make covers for the campervan front seats which are looking shabby.
Last time the sewing machine was out, no idea.
Never done quilting and don't know how, but one thing I do have is time!!

WhoWouldHaveThoughtThat · 21/05/2020 19:36

@AvoidingTheWineAisle
I think I would have to be very passed (sic) to pay that much for something to mix with tonic. For that you can get 5 litres of white spirit from B & Q, a slap up meal from the kebab van and have enough left over for a tattoo.

Kenworthington · 21/05/2020 19:39

@Iwalkinmyclothing I know the ones! In fact, clearing out my dms house recently and she had 4- I gave them to my friend who loves them. I on the other hand absolutely loathe them! Ours were all wool.

DukeOfEarlGrey · 21/05/2020 19:44

A mohair jumpsuit with a rainbow on it. To be fair it’s lovely but looks like something I’d have worn twenty years ago. I’ve gone a bit lockdown bonkers I think.

magimedi · 21/05/2020 19:46

A wind up radio - had a power cut a few weeks back & was getting a bit worried about keeping in touch...........................

I have put it away somewhere 'sensible'. WTF it is only St Anthony knows! Grin

DukeOfEarlGrey · 21/05/2020 21:55

A mohair jumpsuit with a rainbow on it.

Woah, just re-read my own post - it’s a jumper, not a jumpsuit! Haven’t gone quite that bonkers yet 😂

TheresOnlyOneWayOfLife · 21/05/2020 22:00

2 inflatable seagulls

TheHobbitMum · 21/05/2020 22:02

Monthly Christmas magazine and Christmas decoration subscription box from this morning and 12 large bars of Tony's Chocolonely chocolate Blush

StCharlotte · 21/05/2020 22:07

Bamboo toaster tongs and a palette knife.

PrimeroseHillAnnie · 21/05/2020 22:08

Box of tooth picks. I’ve got a gap between two of my teeth where I got hit with a hockey ball at school and half my dinner seem so to collect there.

deste · 21/05/2020 22:15

A wig for my childhood doll.

Pinkarsedfly · 21/05/2020 22:21

A tin bath and assorted plants to make a mini pond.

Wasail · 21/05/2020 22:23

They arrived today at the same time as a Boden hippy jumpsuit. I’m not usually very hippy in my style but lockdown seems to be having a strange effect.

Holothane · 21/05/2020 22:26

Loads of leopard print stuff lined up for birthday.

Muddybootsblister · 21/05/2020 22:31

A wildly overpriced but apparently excellent set of wooden salt and pepper grinders made by Peugeot (who knew?) for our 6th wedding anniversary. Not arrived yet but they’d better grind immaculately and he’d better bloody like them...

TolstoyAteMyHamster · 21/05/2020 22:33

Lobster crackers for lobster that I now can’t buy because I wanted it for Tuesday and Monday is a bank holiday so the fish monger said no.

And some weird little tubes that attach to the hoover which stalked me on Instagram until I finally cracked and bought them. Very satisfying actually for vacuuming in nooks and crevices.
