Morning all, well the cafe thread is just about full so here's the new thread.

Just a reminder Florence has made pastries over night, the garden is open with the sensory garden, the cat area (with catnip bush) is available and feel free to cool your feet int the water feature.

Thank you @AlCalavicci. Perfect for the afternoon slump.

The kitten bees sound so sweet. I love this place.

mogloveseggs · 20/08/2020 19:20

Ooh thanks @AlCalavicci @sashh

AlCalavicci · 21/08/2020 05:17

Morning everyone
@sashh do you mind if I have a route round the fridge, I fancy some kippers this morning, I have put the kettle on and get the cats some of yesterday's left over kedgree.
Anyone want anything while i am here ?

NoGravyForYou · 21/08/2020 06:42

Morning @AlCalavicci! Could I have a big coffee please? A guy who messed me around on OLD resurfaced last night full of apologies. Triggered my anxiety for some reason and I found myself still awake straightening my hair at 3:30am this morning 🙈

Would anyone like some chocolate brownies? I'm feeling like some warm chocolatey goodness would help. I shall whip up a batch under Florence's guidance.

sashh · 21/08/2020 07:57

Morning all.

@AlCalavicci help yourself, I was going to suggest breakfast sandwiches but kippers are good too.

NoGravyForYou · 21/08/2020 12:56

Brownies are here, still warm from the oven. There's some ice cream and cream on the counter as well.

I'll be in the garden looking at the kitten bees.

mogloveseggs · 21/08/2020 13:32

Yum thanks!
I'll join you in the garden as long as it's not windy like it is here

MinnieMountain · 22/08/2020 06:37

Would anyone like coffee and Welsh cakes?

We're off on holiday to the seaside this morning Grin

sashh · 22/08/2020 08:04

I use this www.visitwales.com/things-do/food-drink/welsh-food/traditional-welsh-cakes-recipe

@sashh but add milk instead of an extra egg if it's too thick.

NoGravyForYou · 22/08/2020 09:41

Morning!

What's a Welsh cake??

How is everyone?

sashh · 22/08/2020 09:57

What's a welsh cake? Seriously, they are fab.

Sort of like a scone but soft and cooked on a griddle pan / baking stone or a special pan that's a sort of flat metal plate with a sort of hoop for a handle.

mogloveseggs · 22/08/2020 10:13

Frownette · 24/08/2020 07:08

I'd love spiced potato filling in bread, can't remember the name of the bread used for that?

Gravy what was his excuse?

PinkDaydreams · 24/08/2020 07:15

Morning all!
Ooo breakfast sounds rather refreshing this morning, just what I need :)

NoGravyForYou · 24/08/2020 07:42

Morning alll,

@Frownette his excuse was that an ex he had ended with on good terms had got in contact with him looking if they could try again. I'm inclined to believe him and he did tell me at the time that the ex had popped up and then proceeded to ignore me for days. I have accepted his apologies and am chatting to him but at arms length and he's aware of that and is trying very hard. I'll see, not overly fussed either way.
How was everyone's weekend?

Frownette · 24/08/2020 07:44

Actually I felt a bit lonely last night! I'd normally call round on a friend but he seems under the weather so I didn't, I let him rest.

sashh · 24/08/2020 08:04

You sound to be dealing with him / the situation perfectly.

OP posts:
Frownette · 24/08/2020 08:06

Oooh aloo paratha, gorgeous thank you

NoGravyForYou · 24/08/2020 08:06

I'm still having moments like that @Frownette, it's difficult to deal with loneliness. Being totally honest, I think that's why I'm carrying on with the online dating. It fills the lonely moments, not sure I'm really actually invested in it.

AlCalavicci · 25/08/2020 04:50

Morning all ,
@Frownette
Lonlyness is a bugger , I have lived alone for 3 years now and while i enjoy it most of the time I miss having some one to talk to esp in the evenings.

I fancy stuff on toast for breakfast so I will fire the grill up if you don't mind @sashh
Anyone want some ? Cheese , beans , fried mushrooms , poched eggs anything else ?
