Morning all, well the cafe thread is just about full so here's the new thread.

Just a reminder Florence has made pastries over night, the garden is open with the sensory garden, the cat area (with catnip bush) is available and feel free to cool your feet int the water feature.

Thank you for the good wishes, I'm not actually allowed to say more than that, the instructions are not to discuss it, online, or in person for 3 days.

My carer spent the day keeping the cat out of my way and after I'd finished we had a drink or two so I'm just going to take a hot chocolate in to the cat garden and leave you lovely people to help yourselves.

It's a day for some tea and toast. It's miserable.

The pot is on and there's lots of toast and butter, plus various jams and chocolate spreads as well.

Hi guys, yep it's a perfect duvet day.

I'm doing ok thanks @mog. Slowly but surely starting to feel like I can get my life back on the track.

That's good @NoGravyForYou. It takes time so don't rush and look after yourself.
Duvet day I wish sassh shopping, pick my wage up, socially distanced look at dm's new car, cleaning. Oh and dh wants to walk too!

Given that I thought @sashh might still be chilling/resting I’ve popped the coffee on, and have brought down some croissants, pain au chocolat, custard danishes and cinnamon buns. (I can’t take credit for them though it’s The perks of living with a pastry chef!)

Morning all, custard danish sounds perfect thank you. Last day before returning to work tomorrow, feeling more than a little nervous about taking up work responsibilities again. Much tea needed this morning.

How are you @sashh? Recovered from the exam?

@Boom yes just about, although my neighbours who often spend summer evenings partying decided to party yesterday afternoon.

The exam took me 12 hours! I did have breaks and used my books. Originally it was going to be a 3 hour exam, with me getting extra time and breaks but then covid happened and it became an online, open book with 24 hours to complete it.

I'm fairly sure I have passed, but I don't think I'm heading for a top grade.

Ahh glad all well Boom. And Sashh so pleased the exam is done and dusted. Yes I'm going back after furlough tomorrow. Lots of changes to adjust to and people to reassure. Hoping we can establish a new calmer and kinder way of working .

Morning all, OK I am back at 100% so fry up breakfasts, fruit, yoghurt, toast, pastries, basically everything Florence and I can make is up for grabs this morning, I even have cat lollies (a friend found them in a cat cafe in Japan).

No plans outside the cafe, apart from looking into whether to get the aircon repaired or buy a new one (portable).

Delicious @sashh! Life is going good, almost have the old house cleared out. My back is paying for it though, lugging things down to the skip!

Cat lollies? Lollies shapes like cats? For humans or for cats?

Please can I just have a tea

I spent all night dreaming of redundancy (the joys of being furloughed and the last one hired in my job). This wasn't helped by dh saying I suppose you feel like you're drawing the pension without earning it yesterday! I didn't ask to be furloughed. But I've no childcare now so am stuck. As are many I suspect. What a mess it all is.
Now to get myself out of this slump before Ds wakes up. Waiting in for a parcel to be collected then might sneak off to the beach for an hour.

I prescribe a hot bath with something nice and smelly, candles and a glass of wine, but maybe not just now, later on.

@sashh wow 12 hour exam. I dont know how you did it to concentrate that much. Sending you good vibes, I am sure you did well!

I could concentrate because I put breaks in away from it. It's supposed to be 3 hours and had I done the necessary revision it would not have taken me so long.

I'll try to get a pic of thr cat lollies. They are for the cats. As you can imagne cats sitting around all day while humans adore them is quite boring, so you can buy something that looks like a lolly to entice them.
