What have you achieved today, no matter how small?

Feeling drained, anxious, sad and exhausted today. But so far I have managed to

Get out of bed, feed the children and pets

Have a bath and get the DCs washed and dressed

Put a wash on

Sat outside for a bit having a cuppa and listened to the birds

My mental health is shot to pieces so I'm celebrating the very small wins today.

Got up early due to noisy cat shouting at 5.30.
Tesco shop at 6.30.
Drive through starbucks for breakfast coffee and iced tea for the teens.
Booked dd a gp telephone consultation.
Answered a couple of work emails. Checked work had gone out on Google classroom. All by 9am.
An hours kip to catch up on lost sleep.
Handed phone to dd when gp called.
Now doing bugger all with the cat but phone handy in case of emails.
Will spend hours this evening when dark and cooler sorting work stuff so I can trade it off with chilling with the cat in the garden now.
Need to collect prescription for dd at 4 and fill it at chemists.

Usually I'm staying at home and doing the emails, classwork, paperwork thing. It's actually been a very busy day.

lilgreen · 21/05/2020 16:05

Got up early, went to work at school. Very hot classroom. Home to flop!

OnceUponAMidnightBeery · 21/05/2020 16:29

I cut my hair. Badly, I was sober.

Will dye it soon. Badly, I’ll be drunk.

😳

Anyone else feel like the Friends episode where Ross is on sabbatical and Joey talks him through Wednesday?

Pinkarsedfly · 21/05/2020 16:49

Went to work as an English tutor in AP. Got a student to excited about writing over 100 words. Big achievement for him.

Ordered what I need to make a mini wildlife pond in my garden.

Put together a raised bed, filled it and planted out some green beans.

Now having a nice g&t in the sun while DH makes dinner.

A good day.

Pinkarsedfly · 21/05/2020 16:50

To get excited.

Some English tutor...

ILoveAnAgathaChristieMurder · 21/05/2020 16:52

I got my son off his console did 2 pieces of work and did some dancing with him. I've felt completely neglectful of him as I have to work mornings and evenings at home so he wants and needs my attention more

maggienolia · 21/05/2020 17:05

Did 2 loads of washing, all dried.
Made scones. Only ate one.
Going to work later if that counts.

DNAwrangler · 21/05/2020 17:42

A load of washing
Some boring stuff for work
18,000 steps

AgeLikeWine · 21/05/2020 17:44

11km walk, shower, about to cook dinner. That’s about as productive as it gets for me at the moment.

1forsorrow · 21/05/2020 17:47

I got my self assessment tax return done and DH's and I've paid the tax. I'm normally a last week in January last minute tax payer so I am feeling very pleased with myself.

mum2jakie · 21/05/2020 19:45

Had to 'work from work' today - but managed to keep up good habits of going out for a decent walk when I got in.

Jellykat · 21/05/2020 21:24

1forsorrow well done, my paperwork is all together ready to do, but haven't quite made it yet..

Today i took my garden gate off the hinges, repaired it, scrubbed it clean and got 2 coats of Sage 'garden shades' painted on. Now back on the hinges and i'm so pleased, it's made my garden look well posh Grin

1forsorrow · 22/05/2020 09:04

Jellykat your project sounds great. I can recommend getting the self assessment out of the way, I feel like a weight is lifted. I'm also quite impressed that I had the money ready to pay it, that's normally a nightmare with Christmas and then 5 birthdays (children, DIL, GC) in January meaning I feel like a pauper.

Today I'm about to make some sandwiches and take DH off to the beach and for a drive (he is disabled and vulnerable and we aren't going out much maybe once a week), it is looking grim here so hopefully it is quiet and I then plan to stay in for the next couple of weeks as I expect numbers to go up in our seaside town.

Bluewavescrashing · 22/05/2020 09:48

Woken at 6am by noisy dog walkers having an altercation outside my window 🙄

I've showered
Made breakfast and fed pets
Put dishwasher on
Wiped kitchen
Nagged DCs to get dressed

Home school is opening late today. I CBA really.

Home school so far...it's hard work today so we've been going very slowly.

I eventually need to ring the bank about three transactions that are definitely not mine on my online banking. & want to paint the last downstairs door.

Viviennemary · 22/05/2020 12:46

Not much. Wiped down worktops in the kitchen. Got dressed in scruffy clothes. Did a few pieces of my jigsaw. Having a bath and washing my hair next. Looked at my knitting but will do some tonight. Had a coffee and some cheesy oat cakes.

mogloveseggs · 22/05/2020 12:58

Cleaned the kitchen and swept the stairs
Done a bit of homeschool with Ds-spellings and maths
Now he's watching Peter rabbit and I'm off to sort the washing and put it away

Peridot1 · 22/05/2020 13:07

I’ve missed a few days. Been doing as little as possible really. Dishwasher every day and a load of washing. And one other thing. Yesterday was vacuuming. Oh and dusted a room.

The weather was so lovely last couple of days i spent the afternoons reading in the garden.

I was woken up by noisy dogs this morning @Bluewavescrashing. Didn’t hear any altercation just the dogs. Tried to get back to sleep around 8.30 and then next doors tree surgeons started taking down some trees. So I got up. Was hoping I’d manage an extra hour.

Today I have had a lovely long shower and used a hair conditioning mask and body scrub and nice body lotion. Emptied the dishwasher. Made bacon and poached eggs on toast for DS and in return he volunteered to take the dog for a walk. I ended up going too as he’s never walked her before.

Have some washing on now and once that’s done and hung up I’ll probably not do much more.

nobodysdaughter · 22/05/2020 13:35

Got up.
Bath, kind of dressed.
Washing up/a bit of a tidy up.
One and a half hours homeschooling with DD 8 (VERY proud of this, it hasn't been everyday by far).
Spoke to mum on phone, about never ending new mobile phone family drama (don't ask it's boring)
Put DD in bath.
Spoke to DP over the phone at length about mortgages/houses for sale (we seem to both find this soothing)
Had a very quick potter round the garden.
Tried to buy a desk from IKEA, got to online checkout, they can't deliver.
WOW that's actually quite a bit!

tomhardyfan · 22/05/2020 13:41

Got up orderd these lovely's then went and laid in the garden not my most productive day I must admit

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 22/05/2020 13:44

I saw the title of this thread and thought that what we all need is

Let's all be proud of the little everyday things keeping us ticking over Smile

derxa · 22/05/2020 13:49

We passed our QMS farm inspection today (Quality Meat Scotland). We had to do it via WhatsApp which was a bit odd. A lot of paper work went into it. It was a shame that the inspector couldn't see our sheep in the flesh as it were.

daisysummer · 22/05/2020 17:19

Got through working from home on very little sleep last night.

Finished all the work tasks I had to do

Hoovered

Ordered a pizza, drink and garlic bread for £12.99 (resume diet and cut down on coffee) as I am out of food till my delivery later on tonight

Was fed up yesterday but feel better today

LunchBoxPolice · 22/05/2020 17:21

I’m 15 weeks pregnant with HG and today I’ve managed to shower, get dressed and go to the shop. Absolutely exhausted now but nice to feel normal for an hour.

popcorndiva · 22/05/2020 17:27

Gone through my DS's clothes drawers as he has definitely outgrown all 12-18 months.
Had a peak opk test so assume will be busy this eveningBlush
