I think I finished the last thread by accident...

Desperate Housewives is wonderful. Where are you finding it? I'd love to rewatch from the beginning.

fartingsparkles · 13/05/2020 00:03

I've been recording The Golden Girls (c5) and am saving them up to watch a few at a time. Not quite binge watching, but a small splurge perhaps!

justasking111 · 13/05/2020 00:06

Recording golden girls too haha. Desperate Housewives is on amazon prime.

PickAChew · 13/05/2020 00:08

@thenightsky the first thing I usually do when I get home from a food shop is run to the loo!

LilacTree1 · 13/05/2020 00:18

I have all the Desperate Housewives DVDs.

At the moment I find the best way to make the day go quicker is to do less, if that makes sense.

And I think it’s time I started drinking..I don’t get up till 11.

If my doctor ever sees me in person again, she’s going to have a shock.

But I doubt she will.

LilacTree1 · 13/05/2020 00:19

Also I have a bunch of ghost stories to read, they are much easier to deal with than anything else.

saraclara · 13/05/2020 00:38

knocking tentatively

Are you my people by any chance?

Yesterday someone on my local Next Door forum posted this:
Noticed a few residents in S(.....) Road have been receiving visitors.during this lockdown! Not a good idea. Stay safe

Ii was the final straw, so I replied:
Is this really something we want here? Passive-aggressive digs at our neighbours, leading people to speculate on who they are and judging them without knowing their circumstances?
Don't be that curtain twitcher.

She'd already got seven likes, so I was gratified when my post started accumulating likes very quickly. But...

When I got up this morning, my post had been DELETED!!!!

WTF? The snitchers have friends in high places apparently.
So are you people nice and normal?

LilacTree1 · 13/05/2020 00:42

sara welcome along

I don’t belong to any of those groups. I think I’d be even more upset if I did.

Intro to me - hanging by a thread, cries a lot, occasionally posts interesting articles.

saraclara · 13/05/2020 00:51

Hi @LilacTree1! Thank you for the welcome! I'm keeping sane by being unusually Pollyana-ish, but grumpy mean people are getting in the way of my strategy!

I'm fine with tears though if nice people are struggling.

LilacTree1 · 13/05/2020 01:21

sara who runs the Next Door thing, I’m guessing the lady who made the comment runs it?

Lots Angeles are apparently likely to lockdown another three months. The definition of insanity needs revision. Unless it now means, renewing lockdown endlessly and expecting a different result...

ISaySteadyOn · 13/05/2020 06:58

May I join you all? Here's my patronus.

@LilacTree1, I loved yours. He's haunting. What was the name of the artist again? I would like to see more.

@DominaShantotto, I have a 6 yo DS in the same boat as your DD. I feel so very angry for him. He's gone from being a sunny, sociable little boy to someone who hides away and cries a lot. And I feel so frustrated that I can't give him what he needs which is friends and school. And it's not as though children who miss their friends and their teachers are asking for the moon though the way Dementors talk, you'd think they were. Anyway, you and your DD are not alone.

GroEggAndHam · 13/05/2020 07:16

Our beaches are open!!! (But the toilets aren't so I might take the Potette and use it in the beach hut)

I haven't seen the sea for so long and I'm usually there at least twice a week. Can't wait to bodyslam into the water Grin

Waxonwaxoff0 · 13/05/2020 07:28

@GroEggAndHam brilliant news! Enjoy the beach.

I'm nowhere near a beach unfortunately but our local park is reopening the cafe today for takeaway items. When the weather improves DS and I will go, get some snacks and sit on the grass for as long as we bloody well want. Grin

GroEggAndHam · 13/05/2020 07:32

Thanks, although tbh we'll probably go super early in the day and then run away back home before the hordes hit. I can't be doing with the stress of avoiding people, it will ruin it for me anyway.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 13/05/2020 07:34

Have a lovely time, GroEgg!

MinnieMountain · 13/05/2020 07:35

Can I join too?

I'm fed up of the "lockdown must continue until this is all gone" and "our children shouldn't go back until September" crowds.

Luckily 6yo DS is happy but he's going back to school as soon as allowed.

I'm struggling on furlough as I need work for my mental health.

My friend who's a nurse in our local ICU says they're twiddling their thumbs at the moment.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 13/05/2020 07:40

@MinnieMountain welcome! I'm in the same position as you. I can't wait to send DS back to school with his friends and get back to work myself.

rosettesforjill · 13/05/2020 07:40

I realised I never added my patronus. It's a Thelwell pony, specifically, this one.

Anti Dementors, Assemble!
GroEggAndHam · 13/05/2020 07:52

Thanks all.... and just so you know, as soon as travel is allowed then you're ALL welcome to come enjoy it too.

No pitchforks in the GroHouse

AlaskaThunderfuckHiiiiiiiii · 13/05/2020 07:56

Pleased to have found some people with rational thinking! So sick of hearing that things will never be the Same again and that we won’t ever be able to leave our houses or see/visit anyone ever! Honestly that kind of talk is dangerous

AlaskaThunderfuckHiiiiiiiii · 13/05/2020 07:57

Oh or that nothing will be left to do once we are allowed to, it’s the end of going drinking as we know it, no hairdressers left etc and apparently I will reassess my priorities. Well actually no I’m chomping at the bit to go back

heroku · 13/05/2020 08:00

Morning murderers! I've just got back from my run, huffing and puffing everywhere like a FUCKING LUNATIC! It's a good job I'm so unfit as it makes my breathing extra murderous.

Very jealous of the beach trip, sounds amazing. I'm right nextdoor Wales but apparently us English will get eaten by a dragon if we try to go to the beach over the border. Still, I'd rather be mauled by a dragon than catch THE RONA!

Waxonwaxoff0 · 13/05/2020 08:00

Alaska oh I hate the "reassess your priorities, enjoy the slower pace of life" patronising crap.

No. I don't want this "slow pace of life." It's dull and repetitive.

AlaskaThunderfuckHiiiiiiiii · 13/05/2020 08:03

@waxonwaxoff0 honestly feel like I’m asking for people’s first borns when I complain how much I miss my hairdresser

I shouldn’t have gone on that do you think things will return to normal thread thought, honestly going to be like living in mad max to some
