Any Gilmore Girls Fans?

I'm just obsessed with this show but none of my friends are into it so I can't talk about it with them. I've watched the entire series like 4 times over. Ha ha. If there are any other GG enthusiasts let's talk!

Yes I am :) but it's been soo long since I've watched it that I don't think I'd remember any specific quotes. They used to replay it continously on E4, etc. so got to see the episodes many many times. The two main characters (Lorelai and Rory) are great.

I love it!
It is my go to comfort program. I am not exaggerating when I say I have watched all 7 seasons about 10 times and I have just started again 😬
I aspire to have the Lorelai and Rory relationship with my daughter.

Love the gilmour girls such a happy feeling program. The relationships between the characters is beautiful.

Love it, and have seen it all about 4 times!
Right now I'm listening to the Gilmore Guys podcast. One life long gilmore fan, and someone who's never seen it watch each episode and discus it, it's a lot of fun!

It's not my sort of thing. My DH and kids love it. They loved the safe room episode the best. They all talk about the code she had to write down.

It's definitely a thing for DD and me. Although I wasn't single for much of DD's remembered life, I did split with XP when I fell pg (he wanted me to get an abortion), and was single for 18months while he dicked around, then I stupidly took him back and we split again when she was 6 and DS was 2, marrying a very different and wonderful (rather like Luke) DH 2 yrs after, so we kind of developed a similar relationship to Lorelai and Rory, and my DSM is a dead ringer for Emily.

My daughters (14 and 16) are watching this in lockdown. We are new to it. We are mid way through season 3 and we love it. Such gentle watching during a turbulent time in the world.

I watched it for the first time during nightfeeds with DD 3 years ago. It was perfect because the revival came out just as I finished it.

Started rewatching bits. Love Luke.

Not a big Rory fan at all!

I binge watched it all a few years ago. I ended up hating everyone in it but still kept watching.

Did you know she also writes Mrs Maisel and did an amazing series called Bunheads? I need you all to watch the latter so that you can join me in my fury that it was cancelled after one season...Angry

She also seems to hire the same actors again and again which is kind of charming. It's like a little theatre company!

Yep loved it, have watched it at least 3 times. Mrs Maisel is great too.

Although on rewatching i like Dean much less. Team Logan all the way Grin

I may have to start rewatching it again. I didn't know there was a podcast, i will have to check that out.

I loved Bunheads!!! I watched it whilst living in America and always assumed it hadn't made it to the UK.

Also huge Gilmore Girls fan!

I love Gilmore Girls, my name is a bit of a giveaway 😀 I don't know anyone else who has ever watched it. It's a show I can watch again and again and never get bored of it. The revival was a bit disappointing, Winter and Fall were the better ones.

The revival did feel a bit like the main actors were slightly hamming up Lorelai and Rory for some reason (maybe to compensate for all the botox)

I'm not sure Bunheads ever played on TV in the UK but it was available to buy on iTunes so I snapped it up!

The revival was terrible! Although Amy S-P wrote it without any knowledge of the last seasons of the show, nothing incorporated from the point she had split from it. So the revival is basically the story of 22 year old Rory.... but she’s really now 32.

@OokSaidTheLibrarian Re Dean really? Ha ha. I was thinking last night how I’d be really hard pushed to pick a character I didn’t like!

@Emilyismyfavorite I was really disappointed with the revival and just like to keep the memory of he final show in my mind. I wanted more for Rory.

@TheseBootsAreMadeForStalking Yeah I noticed that! Even the people that just have a few lines pop up here and there as different characters throughout the series. Also, Anna Nardini was also Jess’s Dad’s girlfiriend! Ha ha.

I’ll see if I can find Bunheads. I wasn’t crazy about Mrs Maisel. I only watched a few eps after learning the show was Amy’s.

So... discussions! Does anyone else think Loreli is too hard on her parents - especially Emily sometimes? Each time I watch it I seem to notice new things. I get that her parents were overbearing when she was growing up or whatever but she just seems like she wants to help!

Oh actually - thinking of character I don’t like - Sheila Huntzberger! Lol. The ep where Emily gives her what for is so satisfying!

Mitchum was right about Rory! I used to love her but she was awful in the revival.

Yes I love Gilmore Girls. I started watching by accident - last year I went to New York for the first time and beforehand i obsessively immersed myself in anything to do with NY! I started watching the first episode of Gilmore Girls, which I had mistaken for Gossip Girl, and loved it!! I’ve only watched the first two series so far, it is quite an undertaking to get through due to the time needed. I just love the look of the houses and the town, so cosy.

Meeee!!!! I absolutely love it am so obsessed but have no idea why!! When you think about it deeper tho Rory was always portrayed to be the sweetest kindest person ever when actually she did a fair few questionable things that would make you believe otherwise eg the whole Dean/Lindsay thing....

I discovered the show about 4 years ago and have basically just watched it over and over on Netflix solidly!!!!
