You lot are all mad....I LOVE THIS!! I'd change a few things but not much, its bloody marvellous, I just need to transport it to London and I'd snap it up in a second and hold fantastic, extravagant parties at the weekend

ginghamtablecloths · 30/04/2020 13:36

Christ, that is bloody awful. I've seen some shite in my time but that takes the biscuit. But fair play, we're all entitled to our own personal taste. It has to belong to a musician/entertainer.

Fashions change however, I wonder if someone will look at my plain beige carpets and grimace?

getyoursocksoffhoney · 30/04/2020 13:37

@Chillipeanuts well It's a good job some of us want to live here!
I'm sure we wouldn't have all the celebrities/millionaires living here if it's really as bad as you make out, it's a highly sought after area.

Spied · 30/04/2020 13:43

What in hell is it?
Whatever it is I get sinister vibes.

AnneKipanki · 30/04/2020 13:45

Ok @Lordfrontpaw

AnneKipanki · 30/04/2020 14:00

The place next door is flats now .
The house for sale is someone's home . I bet they have had many happy years there .

getyoursocksoffhoney · 30/04/2020 14:06

@notchickenagain I've just been on the phone to my parents and asked if either of them remember there ever being commercial properties down that road but both said nope pretty sure it's always been just houses down there.

QueenOfWinterfell · 30/04/2020 14:10

It’s definitely owned by someone with connections to the entertainment business who has held parties there. The clues are all there if you look. Lytham is home to a lot of well off people in the entertainment industry but they tend to be in the music hall or end of the pier sector, rather than theatre or prime tv/films.

Stabbitha · 30/04/2020 14:25

All the mirrors and glass made me think of swingers or sex parties.

notchickenagain · 30/04/2020 15:06

Oh well getyoursocksoff, that's that theory gone west Grin

@nettie434 Thank you! Smile

covidpanics · 30/04/2020 15:40

A bed in the garage?! Grin

DramaAlpaca · 30/04/2020 15:46

I love that ceiling light fitting in the second picture, and the giraffe. Those bathroom tiles are fabulous, I love them.

The whole house takes me right back to the 70s, we had carpets like that at home at one point, lots of brown and orange decor, similar kitchen units and my parents' 70s built house still has some wooden ceilings.

Sarcelle · 30/04/2020 16:50

From a bit of sleuthing, an electronic store is run from same address which only opens a few days a week. However, when you click on the website for the electronic store it is not a real website.

TwentyViginti · 30/04/2020 17:47

Sarcelle OOOH!

Sarcelle · 30/04/2020 17:55

I am invested in this now. There are lots of photos in the house itself, which I zoomed into to see if it was anybody famous. Couldn't recognise anybody.

There are a few houses in that street that are set back from the road like that, with a lot of concrete separating them from the road. Directly opposite are sand dunes, I wonder if they are set back because of the blowing sand? (Some of them have the outer porch area and some bold choices in decor, but none as strange as our mystery house).

I think it is multi-generational. Middle aged couple with adult children/grandchildren, plus an elderly parent who like to sit in the kitchen by the aga.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 30/04/2020 17:55

What?! Explain.

MaddeningtheUnhelpful · 30/04/2020 18:02

hideous. But I actually love the hat wearing giraffe

sobersides · 30/04/2020 18:11

I absolutely love this house!

worldsworststepfordwife · 30/04/2020 18:18

I thought I would hate every picture but I bloody love that white wall yes to mid century it could be class

Snowflakes1122 · 30/04/2020 18:20

Why is it so expensive? It’s hideous, and it’s leasehold Confused

ILiveNearby · 30/04/2020 18:27

Ok, name changed -

so...I live verynearby and our family business is round the corner..have lived in the area my whole life.

It’s not in Blackpool. It’s in St Annes. Lytham is not a shit hole. And yes...there are quite a few millionaires there including my family

@Sarcelle All the houses and hotels on St Annes Promenade are set back like that. At that point the sand dunes aren’t as high as they look but sand is a big problem in the area. It even gets in the gardens of the houses on Clifton Drive which runs directly parallel behind this road.

There was a tiny old sports car parked on the road opposite for many years. My memories are so patchy but this could have been in the 90s or 00s. Always a surprise it was left on the road as it was open top and clearly vintage parked near the steep bend. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s under that duvet in the garage! As a child, I was clambering over the sand dunes bucket and spade in hand and a man appeared out of nowhere looking very stern and telling me to get away. I wasn’t within touching distance at the time and was quite scared. My parents thought the gentleman was very rude. He seemed quite old and stressed. I’d imagine he’d be late 80s early 90s now and seemed fairly wealthy. It was a bottle green little coupe type car. Don’t know for definite that it was the owner but it was so close to that house.

My parents friend lived just around the bend, I’ve not any way of getting in contact or I would have asked her if she knew about the house. The Mafia Princess lived on the very same road!

It’s not Royston Vasey (Chubby Brown), Roy Walker, Joe Longthorne, Bobby Ball or anyone else that’s been mentioned. I know/knew all of those people.

I actually wouldn’t be surprised if the master bedroom was once an office or work room and the “dressing tables” could be have been desks or work tables - is that a sewing machine or typewriter underneath?

Also the piano room, seems to have an organ in the left hand corner. So a music enthusiast. But I doubt anyone well known because I’m pretty sure I’d know about it. I can ask around though.
