Is there a ghost in my house?

Hi, I'm quite freaked out to be honest and, whilst I don't mind skeptics, I don't need to be told I'm being ridiculous. I'm really scared.

Bit of background:
As a teenager, I did stupid things at sleepovers with my group of friends (we did a seance o and we tried to 'communicate' with spirits). It sometimes 'worked' and sometimes there was nothing. My best friend literally horizontally floated in front our eyes when we were around her in a circle (no alcohol or drugs had been taken). We never broke it so I wonder if this is the effect.

Anyway, fast forward. There was a spot sometime after that in my room that I always 'felt' something watching me at a certain time (roughly between 2-4am). Not particularly nice but never harmed me. Now, four years later, I live with DH, 2 kids and his grandmother temporarily and three dogs. There's always been a 'spot' (next to the bottom of the stairs) that I've had that same feeling of energy at night (once in the living room too). Again, never been touched. Since the beginning of this year, I've felt it in my room. Pretty much continuously on and off, more prominent at night (this room is a lot smaller and the spot is next to the door). Anyway, up until this point, it's all 'feelings'. However, last few weeks DD (3) has been waving out of the living room door into the hallway. I asked who she was waving to and she said 'the man' (DH was in the room too). I asked where he went, she said upstairs. DH went but obviously no-one was there. I keep seeing 'it' out of the corner of my eye but definitely there (one year old keeps smiling and waving at thin air and the dogs bark at the same time he does that). Then, last night, DH was downstairs as he couldn't sleep (this is about 4am now) and came up (I was awake giving one year old milk) and he asked if I was calling his name. I said no and he was really freaked out, said it was clear as day. He even woke his nan up and she said it wasn't her. I'm really scared, I don't know what to do or what it is. Has anyone had anything similar or got any advice? I promise I'm not making it up but if you're sceptical then please just leave it, I'm scared. TIA.

Generally speaking I'd say its unlikely...but ...you've dabbled? (Never a wise move!). Though this hs a new home?

You can feel the thing looking at you? This stands out to me...i've only seen one thing once and I could feel it looking at me before I saw it. So now when ppl say they can feel that, it's a big red flag to me. Mine was a result of something occult too. Perhaps someone dabbled in something in your new house? Or there is an oculty object that shouldnt be there.

Either way...if it was calling your husbands name.. (immitating you?)it is escalating. And if I were you, I'd get a minister in fast to bless the place. Take no chances.

Usually its nothing but this sounds to me like enough goings on that I would be concerned.

memblemumble · 29/04/2020 21:57

How can I do that during lockdown @Wanderlust21 ?😩

memblemumble · 29/04/2020 21:58

To clarify, I can't see what it looks like but I can feel it. I know it sounds stupid Sad

Ps: if you cant get a minister right now, you could tell it to leave yourself. Tell it this is your home and it is not welcome and must leave. Better still if you have faith, you can command it to leave in christ's name.

But either way, get mad and get tough.

Good luck!

memblemumble · 29/04/2020 22:00

But what if I just piss it off @Wanderlust21 ??

Ironically, I've always assumed it to be woman ( it looked female when I saw it out of the corner of my eye- everyone was in the living room when this happened so it couldn't be anyone else) and then now I've said about the voice Sad

What happened in your experience? I'm so scared.

It doesnt round stupid. We cant see the wind but we know when it is there.
Do you just feel watched? It is there a feeling coming off the thing itself (like anger?)

memblemumble · 29/04/2020 22:02

I feel watched. Like it's staring at me constantly when it's there (it's not always there and nearly always at night although it felt male when I was a teen). Or walking through the house.

@Shuttup you're entitled to your opinion as I am mine and I believe that my experience is real. You do not have to agree but I am frightened.

Burn white sage in your house. Google smudging and this wil tell you what to do

Wanderlust21 · 29/04/2020 22:10

It is a risk. Of course it is.
But it's your home and you are a mum and that gives you power. If it is something dark then it isnt actually allowed to be there.

My thing was no Casper. It was an angry thing. Black shadow. But totally solid. Luckily it just passed through the house that once so I pretended not to see it (praying my ass off in my head fir a good twenty min). Knew what it was and where it came from (I cant talk about that. It still creeps me out more than the actual thing!). Got very lucky that it left. But have done my fair share of study in the area since as a result. On the off chance I ever find myself in a similar situation.

Anyway. You probably arent dealing with that so dont worry!

I dont know if I believe they can just be dead ppl. But who knows. But it's your house and it has no right to be there. You could be polite about asking it to go if that makes you feel better.

Either that or keep ignoring until you can get a minister. But dont try and record it! Or to get an interaction from it. That could escalate it.

memblemumble · 29/04/2020 22:12

A bit more background- in a house between first one and this one, DH and I videoed in the attic as things kept moving and had two orbs moving on camera. This is like a black static energy Sad

OP posts:
Wanderlust21 · 29/04/2020 22:19

Also, I know it's hard but try to chill. If it is something not nice...it may feed on fear. Either ignore it or tell it to fuck off when you feel it getting too much. Take no shite. It's an invader in your home. Just imagine it as some arsehole who is trespassing.

I wouldn't smudge personally. I've seen programmes where they've said it has to be done right or it can actually just cause more harm.

My thoughts are with you, I know its horrible to go through. But it'll you'll get through it. Be brave!

memblemumble · 29/04/2020 22:24

😭

DH just said he's engaged with it (as in he's said hello when he feels it- he's up a lot in the night as he sometimes can't sleep and stays up for day/a) but to him it feels friendly, but to me it doesn't Sad

Got no advice but following this with interest... hope you can find something that works OP. Must be scary x

whynotchange · 29/04/2020 22:28

Please stay calm as humanly possible, as another poster said you can create more issues with fear.

So your DH is able to talk to this energy? And has a different take?

Wanderlust21 · 29/04/2020 22:30

If it's a woman...maybe it likes him. But not you - because it likes him. Like a succubus or something? Lol maybe that's more into the myth side of things of course xD but who knows!

Or trying to devide you two, by seeming innocent to him. That's common theme in ghosty programs.
Makes ya wonder...

TrainspottingWelsh · 29/04/2020 22:33

It isn't a ghost, for the same reason I don't have a unicorn in my home, they don't exist.

I grew up in the middle of nowhere in an old house, loved being outdoors day or night, often roaming around in the pitch black on my own, and had several friends and relatives with old, and in some cases supposedly haunted houses.

Because I was used to, and genuinely loved the environments others found spooky, plus didn't believe in the supernatural at all, I was the teen quite happy to do any form of dabbling. In fact younger, I remember demonstrating the Bloody Mary mirror thing was rubbish at a Brownie camp. I don't find disgruntled spirits after me like a cheesy horror film, because I still love supposedly creepy places and still don't believe in ghosts. For some reason this only seems to happen to people that have scared themselves into believing ghosts exist.

The human brain is very good at interpreting things into the familiar or what we expect to see. But it doesn't always get it right. I regularly approach dark shadows in the field at night assuming they are the Shetland, only to get closer and realise they aren't. If the Shetland was rumoured to be a ghost and I believed it would be very easy to convince myself I had seen a ghostly vision. Ditto loads of other noises, sights, feelings. You're doing the same.

And if they did exist, where are the rest? Mrs Smith's cat that died in 1965, your childhood goldfish, your mums school teacher, the bank managers grandparents. Everyone's house would be positively heaving with ghosts if they existed.

MrsJoshNavidi · 29/04/2020 22:36

My best friend literally horizontally floated in front our eyes when we were around her in a circle

No she didn't. HTH.

Wanderlust21 · 29/04/2020 22:44

It's all well and good you dont believe in ghosts pp. I dont believe dead ppl come back and haunt places either. But I've seen 'ghost'. And it wasnt a trick of the bloody mind that's for sure xD

BeardedMum · 29/04/2020 22:49

There is no ghost in your house because ghost ms do not exist:

TrainspottingWelsh · 29/04/2020 22:49

wander I've seen 'ghost' too. It wasn't a trick of the mind, iirc it was a vhs at the time. It's been on tv loads since then so I imagine most people have seen it.

Pipandmum · 29/04/2020 22:58

I believe houses have an energy. My house is 140 years old and I feel it is very protective. And I've definitely been in houses that creep me out.
Regardless of what other people think it's what you believe that counts. Get a priest in or other paranormal expert.

memblemumble · 29/04/2020 22:58

No one has to believe me and my experiences but I do believe my experiences to be true. If you don't, that's fine but I'm not making up my interpretation, which I believe to be reality.

DH can't interact but can feel the presence and says hello or similar, it doesn't reply.
