People who know about iPhones - please help!

I have an iPhone XR. I absolutely hate it, it's huge, I have to use two hands to hold it. It's so heavy it pulls the holdy-device in the car downwards and I constantly have to push it back up again

I have to message with two hands like I have a Blackberry. When I've tried to message with one hand whilst lying down, the phone has hit me in the face. It's actually so annoying I want to throw it out of the window and get a Nokia 3210.

Now, I'm going to just pay the money to escape the contract and upgrade, but to which other iPhone? Which of the other (newer) iPhones are smaller and less ridiculous? Due to lockdown I can't get into the shops to see the phones, but using the comparison tools online it looks like most of the new ones are just as big and just as heavy... really?! Is that right?

Oh I actually miss the days where Apple brought out one new iPhone, not 3 or 4 at the same time just to offer the market different options confuse me.

And please no suggestions of getting an Android, I can't cope with phone related change, I would have no idea how to use it and it would be more stressful than being hit in the face by my phone most nights.

I'd just get an 8 tbh.

Yep, the new SE will be available from this Friday and will cost £419. It's got iphone 11 specs in an 8 body, which is 4.7".

Keep the iPhone you have but look for a case that's better designed and will enable you to operate it better.

I'm assuming you are female? Phones were not designed with female hands in mind!

There's lots of things you can do to make the size more comfortable when using it. You can also set the keyboard to appear on one side only meaning you can type with one hand.

I have an XR and I now can't use the smaller iPhones my DC have.

Save money and stick with what you have.

A case I loved was the loopy case but there are loads of great options now.

It'd be cheaper to get a better holder for you car than a new phone. We use a spider thing in our car.

Another vote for the new SE. It's the size of the iPhone 8 and has the new processor inside so is quite good value for money. It does have the home button though if that bothers you.

I’ve got an XR which is very heavy. Dh has an 11 Pro which is very light and not as chunky. I have iPhone envy.

I have a 7 which is fine for me, tho DD 14, has to have a newer model!! so she has recently upgraded to an 11 which is great, still quite small and a fantastic camera.

I’ve just upgraded from an 8 to the SE which should be arriving on Friday.

I have specifically stayed away from the newer models because of size and also lack of a home button, so this is going to be perfect for me.

And my network provider did me a good deal - no up front cost and £40 a month with 100 gigs of data for the 256 GB model.

I literally do not care about the money anymore. I just want a hone which is useable and isn't going require shit loads of adaptions to make it useable.

In all honesty, I'm more nervous about having to spend £6000+ getting my nose repaired if this falls on my face one more time or the windows because I'm about to throw it at one of them

I've just looked at it and it's exactly what I want. I didn't realise they were bringing out phones with TouchID. I miss just being able to open my phone by, you know, touching it...

I have tiny hands, so size was important to me when getting a phone.

I bought an iPhone 11 Pro and I love it; can hold it perfectly fine with no issues

I just got really excited about the SE, as my battery is down to 77% & I’ll have to think about replacing it soon, & also I don’t know how much longer I’ll get software updates.

But my phone is 7 plus - the SE screen is much smaller. I love my big screen

I’m all the way down at iPhone 5 size. I’d love to upgrade but just becomes too hard to hold
