Why are you awake?

JustStayHome · 11/04/2020 05:39

Just that really.

Its 5.40am on Easter Saturday (If that's even a thing)

I'm currently shielding, so I'm waiting for a shop to go online at 6am so i can order some things i need...

I should of gone to sleep, and set my alarm for 6 but just kind of accidentally stayed awake.

What's everyone up to?

Frownette they're just pressure marks which go after a few hours. One of my friends had to put a foam dressing on the bridge of her nose. Some lovely ladies a colleague knows have made us some elasticated bandanas to wear over our ears under our caps to stop them rubbing !

LittleAtlas · 11/04/2020 06:43

Been awake since 5. DS 5 months woke for a bottle and won't go back to sleep. Was awake at 3 as well with sons heavy breathing and DH snoring Confused

KIDS KIDS KIDS

ScarfLadysBag · 11/04/2020 06:53

DD woke at 6 today, but just got 7 mins (not that I'm counting Grin) before I'm going to poke DH and let him take her for a couple of hours so I can go back to bed!

JustStayHome · 13/04/2020 02:42

Hay....

Me again :)

I'm awake, currently, because my sleep pattern is messed up now...

Anyone else ?

OP posts:
ZombieFan · 13/04/2020 02:43

Me as well. It feels like evening time.

ZombieFan · 13/04/2020 02:44

It does feel peaceful

Flibbertyjibbit · 13/04/2020 02:46

I'm awake as cramp in my leg keeps waking me up. I'm also shielding and wonder if my leg cramps are because I've not had a proper walk in 4 weeks.

JustStayHome · 13/04/2020 02:53

@Zombiefan
Indeed... Not even tired.... Weird isn't it

@Flibbertyjibbit
I'm shielding too... Sucks doesn't it

Stressing about going to work and bringing the virus home,

thaegumathteth · 13/04/2020 03:11

I lay down after having a shower at 645pm and slept for approximately 10 minutes. Now it seems I'm not going to sleep at all tonight....

ZombieFan · 13/04/2020 03:17

@JustStayHome Its very weird. The things I want to do more of when I am very busy, I have no desire to do in lock down. Days and nights, dates and times have flipped. There is no structure to life now. Not that I am complaining. But it is discombobulating/zen.

Flibbertyjibbit · 13/04/2020 03:23

@JustStayHome it does indeed suck. Sorry to hear you're also shielding.

I've given up sleeping, downstairs having a cuppa now.

JustStayHome · 13/04/2020 03:28

@bettybattenburg
Its very worrying times...
Are you on the frontline?

@thaegumathteth
Do you have to get up soon?

@ZombieFan I know the feeling, so much time on my hands, but no get up and go

@Flibbertyjibbit
Are you doing anything nice to pass the time?

OP posts:
TooManyButtons · 13/04/2020 03:31

I'm a nurse on night shift, counting down the minutes until I can take this bloody mask off and have a drink!

JustStayHome · 13/04/2020 03:36

@TooManyButtons

Thank you for everything you do.
We appreciate you....

4 and a half hours to go?

OP posts:
ZombieFan · 13/04/2020 03:38

TooManyButtons Thank you for all you are doing.

Is it wrong to enjoy the peace, the slower pace of life?

Hollyhobbi · 13/04/2020 03:39

Flowers for you @TooManyButtons. I don't sleep much at the best of times even with Amytriptiline and painkillers. Have a rare presentation of a rare Endocrine disease which I had failed surgery for. Some of the symptoms are insomnia, bone pain and muscle aches. All of which I have at the moment. Sad

bettybattenburg · 13/04/2020 03:41

No, not frontline. I'm caring for a disabled child of two frontline workers.
@TooManyButtons thank you for all you are doing,

ARoseInHarlem · 13/04/2020 03:41

I’m overseas, 5 hours behind.

We’re basically on lockdown. Oddly, despite the worry and anxiety, I’ve slept better these past few weeks than I have in a long long time. Clocking up 8/9 hours per night.

It used to happen when I was bored out of my mind at various points as a teenager/ in my 20s. Wonder if it’s the same now, life has become exceedingly boring.

Alternatively, it could be having no pressure on me any more. Very small and limited goals each day, meaning I go to sleep not thinking about everything I need to do the next day.

Apologies to those with real worries these days. I’m very aware how fortunate I am to be healthy and financially secure at this time.

CaffeineInfusion · 13/04/2020 03:42

I'm still awake. I have a teen living in his room. Awake all night and sleeps all day. I seem to be emulating him...

For the first few days after being furloughed I set the alarm each morning, was up washed dressed, meals prepared at proper meal sort of times.

It's all gone to pot.

TooManyButtons · 13/04/2020 03:42

@juststayhome Thank you, but tbh I feel a fraud. They've redeployed loads of staff so all the acute wards are really overstaffed, but most are half empty. Hopefully it'll stay like this, but if not, we're ready!

Just over 3hrs to go 😁

JustStayHome · 13/04/2020 03:44

@TooManyButtons
Being over staffed is definitely better.

Sadly, i think its only a matter of time....

Hope the 3 hours goes quick for you

NC for obvious reasons.

I had a huge argument with DH today over his secretive behaviour and deceit. He went for a drive, then came back and came out as gay.

I’m sitting here awake just trying to work out how to separate during lockdown, or whether we are trapped here together for as long as this lasts, and just trying to absorb it all.

I don’t see how we can get to an amicable place quickly and avoid weeks of horrible tension and arguing.

It is strangely comforting to be able to blurt this out anonymously. SmileSad

JustStayHome · 13/04/2020 03:48

@CaffeineInfusion
I have no routine at all...
Has helped that the weather has been nice. Very bad storm here this evening though

@ARoseInHarlem Boredom is a very good thing for those that are feeling it

@bettybattenburg A very rewarding but very hard job

@Hollyhobbi 💐
