Why are you awake?

Just that really.

Its 5.40am on Easter Saturday (If that's even a thing)

I'm currently shielding, so I'm waiting for a shop to go online at 6am so i can order some things i need...

I should of gone to sleep, and set my alarm for 6 but just kind of accidentally stayed awake.

What's everyone up to?

helicopter & snoring 🙄

icecreamscoops · 19/04/2020 01:35

Wide awake here too! No idea why just can't seem to switch off probably doesn't help I keep picking my phone up!
I'm just trying to relax and say to myself it doesn't matter your not asleep but it doesn't help!

JustStayHome · 19/04/2020 01:35

@tontie
Can not deal with snoring.

I sleep in a separate bedroom

@ tontie good luck and hopefully good night.

tontie · 19/04/2020 02:11

thanks & same to you

GinGenie · 19/04/2020 02:25

I went to bed at 9.30pm, dd2 got me up at 12.15am and we've been wide awake ever since. Shes 6 with multiple disabilities, cognitive and physical, and sleep has always been an issue. We are up for the day now 😭

Peppafrig · 19/04/2020 02:28

@GinGenie she might fall off to sleep soon . Hope you get some rest.

nbee84 · 19/04/2020 02:29

I'm awake as my grandson was born at 00:45! Just been WhatsApp ing and have watched a couple of videos of him. Gonna try and get some sleep now 😍

GinGenie · 19/04/2020 02:39

Peppa, I wish I had your optimism, sadly this is a regular occurrence and most days are managed on 3 or 4 hours sleep. But thank you anyway 💐

Nbee84 congratulations! 💐

nbee84 · 19/04/2020 02:49

Thanks Gin.
I look after a 10yo girl with sn and her sleep can be tricky. Often awake for 4hours or so from 1am and is angry and aggressive, which is so hard for Mum & Dad to handle. She is so easy going and sunny natured during the day and we don't know how she does it on so little sleep! About every 3 weeks she'll have a full night's sleep to catch up.
I hope things get easier for you x

Peppafrig · 19/04/2020 03:01

To those dealing with kids who only sleep for a few hours I take my hat off to you. You deserve a medal, people don't appreciate how hard it is till they live it. It's a form of torture it really is .

TheMagiciansMewTwo · 19/04/2020 03:05

Nbee congratulations! Flowers
A loud noise woke me up just after midnight. After going round the house making sure nothing and no-one had fallen over, I've decided it must have come from outside. But now I can't get back to sleep.

GinnyStrupac · 19/04/2020 03:14

I am giving the guilty DC here the side eye.

OneOfTheGrundys · 19/04/2020 03:19

DS2, SN has chosen to sleep in my bed since lockdown began.
He’s like a tiny nuclear reactor. That kicks me a lot.

JustStayHome · 20/04/2020 00:02

@GinGenie Hope your day hasnt been to bad and hope you are asleep at the moment

@nbee84 Congratulations 💐

Hope everyone has a better night tonight

@Ipadipod just sounds like you're at the end of your tether.

I just got a snack and hot drink and am hoping I can sleep ok (can get pain at nights)

JustStayHome · 20/04/2020 01:03

JustStayHome · 20/04/2020 02:35

So 2.35am and here i am again....

Anyone else awake?

OP posts:
ClientQ · 20/04/2020 02:40

Oh yes. My natural state is night owl. Worrying about work and shielding. Plus I injected my weekly meds so I'm feeling a bit rough

JustStayHome · 20/04/2020 02:42

@ClientQ

I'm shielding too...
I'm really trying not to think about it...
But its difficult isn't it

Sorry you are feeling poorly....
Are you up for the duration or will you eventually sleep?

OP posts:
ClientQ · 20/04/2020 02:44

I'll sleep probably, just find I'm not actually tired until about 3am! Depends how the side effects go, some weeks are fine but it's all a bit stab in the dark as to how they are each week Grin

JustStayHome · 20/04/2020 02:48

@ClientQ
Ah, that sucks, but on the plus side its nearly 3am.
So hopefully you will start to fill sleepy soon. .
Mumsnet definitely isn't any good for my sleep pattern..
Infact, its probably 90% of the problem 😂😴
