They’re all as bad as each other. Watch joe on Louis Theroux about 10 years ago - I started following him on social media then. He’s an appalling racist, which they cut out. Carol is a lunatic, they all are. And none of the, care about the animals - only money, power and status.

The ‘sardine oil’ comment is a callback to the show when a tiger has a go at Joe’s shoe and tries to drag him off. Joe thinks it’s a fit up. When interviewed about it, Carole says that sardine oil would be the only way to get a cat to attack a person, “just cover them in sardine oil...”.

The whole documentary was bizarre but what I find quite strange is people's fixation with Carole, whether she did or didn't kill her husband (which is just a hypothesis at this stage with no evidence to support it ) . But the hard fact is that Joe harrased, bullied and threatened her for years (including some pretty discusting rape threats) culminating in trying to arrange her murder for which he was convicted of in court, he controlled and coerced his young impressionable husbands, abused animals... yet people are getting obsessed with him, venerating him... Jeff tried to murder his ex wife and is all round piece oh human garbage, Ant is grooming teenagers in addition to being what looks like a cult leader, and this is not even going into how he treats his animals...but yeah, let's focus on Carole Reeks of mysogony and complete cognitive dissonance.

The disappearance thing in the power of attorney was explained away from the show.
Her husband was spending large amounts of time in Costa Rica, which in that period was known for western businessmen disappearing. I believed they were advised by lawyers to add that in because of his frequent trips.

Did she kill him? It fits doesn’t it, but he wasn’t exactly a man without enemies and again the show didn’t really go into that.
On balance I think she’s utterly cuckoo but probably not a killer. Suspect she just breathed a large sigh of relief when someone else did the job.

I knew it! He has a god awful speaking voice so I said right away there was no way he could sing like that. You hear him squeaking along to one of the songs in his car, too.

For anyone interested, there is an old Louis Theroux documentary about him meeting Joe Exotic. Google search. I think "Beware" is in the title. Puts a slightly more favourable light on Joe and his work.
