We live fairly close to the local park and at the moment have a lot of dog traffic passing by as they go for their daily walks. With lots of time to look out of the window I'm realising that a good 50% of dogs passing are dachshunds! Fair number of Yorkies too and several greyhounds. We're in East London, when we visit (not at the moment obviously) my Sister just outside London Cavalier spaniels and jack russells seem to be the breeds of choice. How is it in your area?

(Yes, I'm very bored today and talking about dogs makes everything better, right?)

Oxfordshire village. Mostly spaniels and Labrador’s.

ChrisPrattsFace · 30/03/2020 14:29

theres no two breeds the same in my village!
However I went to the coast (before this started) near me and it it was 80% cocker/poodles. Must have been a boost in then a few years ago 😂

Small village in the SE.

Overwhelmingly cockers and cockerpoos. Several labs as well.

Herts/North London border. It's all hybrid poos - cocker pop, cavapoo, labradoodle. And a good few shitzus thrown in.

ReginaGeorgeous · 30/03/2020 14:36

Mainly golden retrievers here.

Thatbloodybear · 30/03/2020 14:36

South Wales, frenchies and staffs. Often in the same house, so the DH has a staff and the wife has a frenchie

BearSoFair · 30/03/2020 14:37

I haven't seen a lab in ages! Maybe because it's mostly flats round here and people don't have space for a bigger dog...

Cockerpoo, Cavapoo, Labs, Bichon and lots of different types of terrier. I have a dog but none of these types it's a Pomeranian and he seems to be the only one around here, SE

Yellowtulips33 · 30/03/2020 14:40

Dachshunds everywhere these days in west London

weaselwords · 30/03/2020 14:40

Middle of a large city and you see all sorts. I challenge anyone to think of a dog breed or mix I haven’t seen round here! Most common is rescue greyhounds.

ExpletiveDelighted · 30/03/2020 14:41

Labradors, dachshunds, cocker spaniels, shitzus, lurchers. Market town. Noticing more and more shitzus and dachshunds recently.

weaselwords · 30/03/2020 14:42

I saw two people running with sausage dogs. Best thing I’ve ever seen 😍

JonHammIsMyJamm · 30/03/2020 14:42

Curly cross doodle types here. I have a dog. He isn’t a curly cross.

dalmatianmad · 30/03/2020 14:44

The odd Jack Russell

sleepwhenidie · 30/03/2020 14:45

NW1, loads of poodle crosses, vizslas increasingly popular, labs and cocker spaniels.

LoveFameTragedy · 30/03/2020 14:46

Labs, Spaniels (and crosses) small terriers. West London.

PaulinePetrovaPosey · 30/03/2020 14:46

It's all Staffies and sausage dogs in this bit of south London. Their ratio is shifting as it gentrifies.

bloodywhitecat · 30/03/2020 14:47

Spaniels, Springer and working cocker and Labs on the whole. Then there is our shitbag boy, a springer/kerry blue terrier cross, a delightful shaggy dog story.

BournvilleGreen · 30/03/2020 14:47

I have been astonished since moving here just how many people have dogs- I think 50% of the people walking past my window have one or more dogs with them! And that was before corona-lockdown.

I'm not all that good at breeds, so unfortunately most are unrecognisable to me, but most popular I recognise are cockerpoo, pugs, greyhounds, and west highland terriers. Lots of others, but I only know the obvious such as boxers (none) labradors (none) wirehaired terriers (none- I love these) chows (none) Great Danes (none) so the others must all be mongrels Wink
