In York, 5 minutes ago a lot of planes all on the same heading going east at height; any ideas?

Saw one of these trains a couple of weeks back... first you see one satellite heading east..then you realise there's another one following it......then you start counting...then you lose count ....

If what you are seeing is not headed east or is carrying navigation lights then it's not Starlink..it's either aircraft or UFOs..

All were showing a white light, some of which became brighter for a few seconds. I couldn't see navigation lights, but that may be my eyes.

Has flight radar gone down? It’s showing not a single plane in the sky. I have no filters on.

In the whole world not just the U.K. nothing anywhere.

It seems ok now. I’m seeing tons of helicopters 🚁 coming from the rigs I think? Loads of them.

Sounds like satellites - they simply reflect sunlight so what you usually see from the ground just looks like a moving star.

The brightness can vary as the vehicle moves - the angle between the sun, the satellite and you change and the sunlight you see reflects off different parts of it's structure as passes by.

The classic example of that was these things:

RVR7NK has been doing some repetitive flying over west Manchester.

..and RVR7RX the same east of Manchester.

What's happening in Brighton? The BBC news chopper is there.

5 planes at Heathrow, 2 unmarked and another 3 all going to Bangkok within minutes of each other. Very odd. Maybe repatriation planes?

Love this thread even though I have no aviation expertise at all!!

I still can't see any planes! But I have the app on my phone, which is showing them. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
