Not trying to show off but my DS loves drawing cartoons and I wondered if he’d good for his age?

I know these types of posts irritate people but it’s just a bit of a distraction from all the shit.

DS has been doodling today, i think he’s really good but then I would cause I’m his mum 😄

I’m guessing drawing ability is age-related so how old do you think he is?

He's very good. No idea of age, may be 12

BloggersNetwork · 21/03/2020 18:29

Those are fab regardless of his age. I think he's 10.

Stroller15 · 21/03/2020 18:30

I think that would be good at any age! No idea, I'd go with 10?

Pollyputthepizzaon · 21/03/2020 18:30

Fantastic regardless of age. I’d say 12? He’s very good.

Trews2019 · 21/03/2020 18:31

28?

Diorissimo1985 · 21/03/2020 18:31

He’s great! I’d guess maybe 11 or 12

Wilmalovescake · 21/03/2020 18:34

33 Grin

PickwickThePlockingDodo · 21/03/2020 18:34

They are very good and what I'd expect at 12/13?

Holdmenow · 21/03/2020 18:35

8 or 9?

Cameron2012 · 21/03/2020 18:37

I’m going with 11/12

Pteuropa · 21/03/2020 18:37

Thanks everyone, he’s 9. It’s nice to see him enjoying a hobby as he’s not sporty and he struggles a bit in school. Unfortunately they don’t do much art so he doesn’t really get a chance to ‘shine’ (sorry I couldn’t think of a better word, you know-feel good about it).

I’ve ordered him a load of paper and some marker pens to keep him going while he’s off.

8-10 maybe? I think he's talented - not complicated but the style is unique.

worriedwellworrier · 21/03/2020 18:40

That’s brilliant!! I would be unsurprised if an adult had drawn that. My son has also found a passion for drawing since we’ve been isolating!

Dozer · 21/03/2020 18:40

Fab

Pteuropa · 21/03/2020 18:42

I love art too but I’m absolutely awful, I just do those adult colouring in books. I might treat myself to a new one actually and we could have an hour of art each day. There’s something quite therapeutic about getting lost in the colouring in!

9? Well yes I'd say that is very advanced. It's nice when the not so academic kids have a talent. Good for him.

ThatsWotSheSaid · 21/03/2020 18:50

I love it. He’s Really got a talent. If that was drawn by my kid I’d be showing it off on his behalf.

elephantoverthehill · 21/03/2020 18:51

It reminds me of the Captain Pugwash illustrations.

LuluJakey1 · 21/03/2020 18:51

I think he's really talented. Fantastic cartoons!

Thisismytimetoshine · 21/03/2020 18:52

That’s really good, well done him!

LuluJakey1 · 21/03/2020 18:53

So many interesting little details and ways of representing expressions and features. They are great!

Samtsirch · 21/03/2020 18:53

I think that’s brilliant, not least for the concentration and dedication required.
Keep all of his work, you never know !

HarrietThePi · 21/03/2020 18:54

That's such a good drawing! The style makes me think teen, but I would guess 10.

Samtsirch · 21/03/2020 18:55

Also I think it’s perfectly acceptable to show off about your child.
You should be very proud .

NaviSprite · 21/03/2020 18:57

He’s got excellent line control for a 9 yo! Are these free hand doodles without a sketch as a base? The different line thickness for outlining is especially good Grin excellent drawing 😁
