Fuck, there are hairs on my chin!!!

Help... there are two of them. They are about a cm long each. I'm 42. How in the name of suffering fuck did they get there? How did they get to that length with me noticing? They're quite lush, like they've been conditioned. Clearly my moisturiser agrees with them. How is this a thing? I thought I had 30 years or so to go before worrying about this. Can I expect more? Will I end up like cousin IT by the end of the year? Help!!!!

SO funny that so many of us have tweezers in the car. I'm forever embarrassing DS by plucking a rogue hair while he's in the car. He sits there fuming Grin sinking lower in his seat...

Luunaa · 06/03/2020 22:31

I also wax my tache once a month and pluck the hell out of my neck. Yes my NECK. Life is so unfair...

The lumea has no impact whatsoever as they're PCOS hairs. That's why I've never had electrolysis or anything.. I think they'll just grow straight back

namechangenumber2 · 06/03/2020 22:31

I've had a little forest of chin hairs since my early 30's! I have two clusters, and actually quite enjoy plucking them... Grin

bringincrazyback · 06/03/2020 22:33

I've had these for years. I just nick them off with my razor as I'm too much of a wuss to pluck.

Hadenoughofitall441 · 06/03/2020 22:34

Join the club, I’m 31 and been getting the, the last 3 years, have to sort them out every week 😬

okiedokieme · 06/03/2020 22:37

Tweezers in your handbag are essential past 40!

surlycurly · 06/03/2020 22:38

I just priced a lumea... it's £500!!!! What are you people doing to afford them, selling your kidneys? I'll stick with the JML thing and hope for the best! I don't fancy plucking my neck (I'm actually clenching my actual sphincter at the thought).

surlycurly · 06/03/2020 22:39

@okiedokieme I realise this now. I feel like I wasn't really a woman until this chin moment. Now I'm a proper grown up.

okiedokieme · 06/03/2020 22:42

£500??? I'm sticking to my tweezers, the woman across the road does threading for £4 if it gets thicker

TheHagOnTheHill · 06/03/2020 22:45

My secret fear is being ill in hospital unable to remove any hairs as the little buggers grow into a worry forest.

TheHagOnTheHill · 06/03/2020 22:46

Supposed to be wirey but worry will do .

TeaAddict235 · 06/03/2020 22:47

Has anyone dared to leave them to actually grow??? How long did they beasties get? Did they curl?

Wonder delight intrigue Blush

Dare you

MiniMum97 · 06/03/2020 22:51

I've had them since my teens!

KatherineJaneway · 06/03/2020 22:59

A pair of Tweezermans are your friend in this situation.

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 06/03/2020 23:03

oh god...I need to inspect my face tomorrow now...I am really short sighted so I can ONLY see them without my specs on/lenses in, even with reading specs over the top of my contacts I cannot spy them, and I keep forgetting.

it's just one thing after another to work into the morning routine....shower, dry, apply HRT gel...oh no wait, moisturise face first don't want hrt gel on my face, oh no wait, contacts in don't want gel or face cream on those, wash hands, moisturise...bloody lenses...wash hands again...., ahhh dammit, no chance of face inspection now...back to hrt gel...bugger...go wash hands, moisturise face...did I not already do this??, feel something?? maybe??? Try and remember to look properly tomorrow...

I have one on my neck I do not give a bugger about this one until the summer as it's practically on my shoulder, so any ordinary round necked t shirt hides it.
I will have to deal with my hairy toe...yes, JUST the one big toe right foot., not a hint of anything on any other toe.
Hairy nipple...three repeat offenders, but two of them seem to grow out of the same place, so sometimes there's tall and small, I need the good tweezers for that pair, and again this requires remembering to look without my specs.

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 06/03/2020 23:08

and yes, three hair, one nipple....just the right nipple...the left side of me seems to be decidedly more lady like and smoooooooooothh

lilgreen · 06/03/2020 23:13

I started getting them in my early 40s too. Now late 40s and I have several on my chin and one that grows out of my cheek. The worst thing is trying to get them when they grow back but they’re not quite long enough so I end up causing s big red mark with the tweezers which is probably worse than the bristle!

lilgreen · 06/03/2020 23:14

Oh yes and a monthly nipple lash!

lilgreen · 06/03/2020 23:17

Op you’ve given me a proper laugh!

Dontwanttobeyourmonkeywench · 06/03/2020 23:31

My people! I used to love it when DH slid his hand along my jaw to kiss me... now he's not allowed to even think about it for fear he will feel the stubble thanks to Chinthia (genius naming!) The worst is when they are still slightly under the skin so it looks and feels like a plucked chicken. 😱😭

Chinthia · 07/03/2020 00:04

Pssssst. I may have coined a name. And now... it is my name. I was due a name change anyway. Grin

surlycurly · 07/03/2020 00:06

@Chinthia you are my actual hero... the deity of all hairy chinned maidens everywhere

OP posts:
Chinthia · 07/03/2020 00:16

You're too kind @surlycurly

I was simply plucked from oblivion into a hairy naice situation.

DrFoxtrot · 07/03/2020 00:51

I also have a few chin hairs and tweezers on hand in several different places.

Furthermore, inspired by a previous MN thread on chin hairs, I have instructed a trusted friend to pluck them in case I'm ever in a coma Grin.

FairfaxAikman · 07/03/2020 01:10

I've had chin hair since my 20s. Had Ds at 32 and it became ten times worse - I have to pluck daily!
The bastards are even to be found in a "treasure trail" down my neck.

I have very pale skin and very dark hair so even tiny ones are very obvious.
