Fuck, there are hairs on my chin!!!

Help... there are two of them. They are about a cm long each. I'm 42. How in the name of suffering fuck did they get there? How did they get to that length with me noticing? They're quite lush, like they've been conditioned. Clearly my moisturiser agrees with them. How is this a thing? I thought I had 30 years or so to go before worrying about this. Can I expect more? Will I end up like cousin IT by the end of the year? Help!!!!

I gave up and just started shaving every week or so! It doesn’t go stubbly thank gos, gets rid of everything! If there I’d an annoying little one that pops up then out come the tweezers....

surlycurly · 06/03/2020 18:53

I genuinely think we should start a support group. We can meet at the local pub. It'll be like blind dating but instead of a Rose you can identify each of us with our chin hair. I shall put a bead in mine like a viking...

It's the start of your hormones changing.
It won't be long before your shaving from the backs onbyour fingers, upto your hairline. Trimming your eyebrows as you go.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 06/03/2020 19:01

Grin"I'Im 2 and I've only just started growing chin hairs!" Nice stealth boast OP Hmm

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 06/03/2020 19:02

The grin was meant to go at the end, not the beginning. Right now it just looks like a massive mood swing...

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 06/03/2020 19:03

And 42, not 2! Ffs I'm going to bed.

surlycurly · 06/03/2020 19:14

@JesusInTheCabbageVan it's clearly Jesus you're needing tonight! Or gin 😉 and noooo stealth boasting. I'm blooming horrified. But clearly I should be grateful. I may just buy a full face mask and give up completely. It's not like I'm getting any anyway.

They're just pubes that have relocated Grin

mineofuselessinformation · 06/03/2020 19:24

Getaway, you're right, it ALL heads south - skin and hair especially. Anyone else with a lower hairline at the back of their neck and pube-like hairs on thighs and the back of the legs?
I have found my people.
I'm in for a meet at the pub, with alcohol as an anaesthetic and people helping each other out with excellent tweezers and magnifying glasses!
Mine's a dry white wine, by the way! Grin

Somanysocks · 06/03/2020 19:26

You lot are bloomin' hilarious. Nice to know I'm completely normal 🤪

Squiffy01 · 06/03/2020 19:29

And I have found my home! I’m 32 and have been tweezing for at least 8 years maybe longer? Used to be two black ones now I could probably sport an entire beard.

What has annoyed be greatly is I am currently having chemo. Drugs I am having not meant to lose my hair but said would thin. I though brilliant won’t have as many to take care of... if anything the f*ckers are coming quicker on chemo Angry

I do worry I will be that little old lady with a million out my chin that I could put a bow in. How does no one in their family help sort that out.

MrsBeeluga · 06/03/2020 19:32

Dh and ds not very beardy, I swear it won't be long and I can grow a bigger beard than them 🙄.

Yes yes to looong eyebrow hairs.

surlycurly · 06/03/2020 19:41

Ffs @Squiffy01 chemo and an increase in bastarding chin hairs? The universe is kicking your arse just now. I send manly pats on the back (I have a beard after all) and lots of good wishes. I think we should also have a weekly newsletter. Any ideas for the name?

surlycurly · 06/03/2020 19:42

And I confess to one comedy eyebrow hair. And a cluster of grey pubes. This is accept with fairly good grace. But the chuffing chin hair...

I found a pube 6 inches above my knee yesterday. A PUBE! I had to have a lie down and a Terry's chocolate orange in order to compose myself.

Chin hairs, big thick tache hairs, weird fine mega long hairs on my face. I frickin love being 45.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 06/03/2020 19:45

Squiffy if you grow them out, you could try doing a huge comb-over?

idril · 06/03/2020 19:45

I had to check that I hadn't written this post!

Also 42 and discovered two HUGE black hairs growing out my chin for the first time a few weeks ago. I have no idea how I hadn't noticed them before!

surlycurly · 06/03/2020 19:50

@lachy ShockShockShock. I'd have needed more than a chocolate Orange (although may I commend you on your choice), like some kind of sedative, or I don't know, therapy!!!

OP posts:
Candlesmakescents · 06/03/2020 19:51

One massive one appears on my chin over night and is around 4cm, thick, coarse and black. Appears every two weeks without warning and this has been for the past 10 years or so! I too enjoy a stroke when not paying attention to what I’m doing Grin

On subject of facial hair... anyone with unruly nostril hair... asking for... well bugger it, asking for me Blush

surlycurly · 06/03/2020 19:54

@Candlesmakescents no, but I had a grey one!!!! Pulling that cretinous monstrosity out was a moment I won't forget in a hurry.

Jojobythesea · 06/03/2020 19:56

@Bool same. Best investment ever. Wish I'd got one years ago

Gadgnkk · 06/03/2020 19:57

OP I think of people our age, you win the prize for the fewest chin hairs! Count yourself very lucky. Mine are like a fucking forest.

surlycurly · 06/03/2020 20:01

Well thanks. Not the outcome I expected but any port in a storm as it were 😉

Hurricane10 · 06/03/2020 20:08

I discovered my first thick chin hair at just 20 Shock. I call it The Masterhair. It has since spawned many progeny.

MrsBeeluga · 06/03/2020 20:13

Re. the club name, I would love 'tweezers for geezers', but I'm struggling with the feminine version - scatter brain 🤣.
