Fuck, there are hairs on my chin!!!

Help... there are two of them. They are about a cm long each. I'm 42. How in the name of suffering fuck did they get there? How did they get to that length with me noticing? They're quite lush, like they've been conditioned. Clearly my moisturiser agrees with them. How is this a thing? I thought I had 30 years or so to go before worrying about this. Can I expect more? Will I end up like cousin IT by the end of the year? Help!!!!

Tweezers for unwilling geezers?

surlycurly · 06/03/2020 20:26

Hahahaha I love it. But obviously the first rule about our beard club is that we never talk about beard club...

I measured a lower leg hair today...6cm

I think I need a strimmer not a bic.

Staywithmemyblood · 06/03/2020 20:39

Those Lilibeth type things look terrifying @MutteringDarkly 🙈 Good luck - hope it all goes smoothly (pardon the pun!) 😉

I’m considering a more permanent hair removal method. Anyone have any experience of SHR? It’s expensive, but are the results worth it?

Minai · 06/03/2020 20:42

I had a few from the age of 25 then when I had ds1 at 30 I got loads. They haven’t gone away, it’s quite distressing. They are randomly really dark. I have blonde hair. It’s so weird.

greenflower279 · 06/03/2020 20:44

Have 2 growing from first chin and a friend noticed them first at about 1cm long when I was about 18 🤣 was mortified!

surlycurly · 06/03/2020 20:52

See what's frustrating is that I had a 'tache years ago. I waxed it al the time. About 5 years ago it seemed to disappear and I though that all was well in the world. I'd got rid of the 'tache and my ex husband; it was like a lottery win. And now... the bloody chin mange.

I am 43 and have a few of these - keep tweezers in the car and can often be seen waiting outside college for Dd checking for stray whiskers on face and neck and grey hairs in head.
I always seem to notice them on other people to as I seem to be obsessed.
Dd 16 gets a very fine one from her cheek that is 5cm long before we notice it.

Booberella9 · 06/03/2020 21:18

I'm only 34. Thought chin hair was an old lady thing. How wrong I was Wine had just the 1 for years. Now at least 15. And the peach fuzz is no longer fuzz but shaggy fur. The bastards. The utter bloody bastards.

You have been fortunate to make it to 42 chinhair free OP!

surlycurly · 06/03/2020 21:19

Seems I need to get car tweezers!!!

ShesCurly · 06/03/2020 21:20

I'm 33 and I've had one of the cunts for about 5 years.

I get rid of her and she's gone for about 28 days then suddenly BOOM she's back and a decent length.

HOW IS SHE DOING THIS.

Just had a check and she's not there. But she could pop up full length tomorrow.

I call her Cynthia. And Cynthia works to her own schedule, I'm just her canvas.

ShesCurly · 06/03/2020 21:21

Ah the car. Classic Cynthia. Tis always the way with these magical surprise hairs - legend has it they only make themselves known when you're in a highly public and visible situation.

surlycurly · 06/03/2020 21:26

I work with teenagers. You don't understand the severity of what would happen if one of these rogue fuckers were spotted. It could be the end of the my career!!!

Loving The Masterhair and Cynthia GrinGrin

Hmm, pondering club names: bearded dragons? Furchins? Billy goats fluff?

ShesCurly · 06/03/2020 21:35

I am so ashamed I've called her Cynthia years without thinking of CHINthia until just now on a MN thread.

What the fuck is wrong with me.

I'm not surprised she only wants to be seen with me once a month.

NotNowPlzz · 06/03/2020 21:36

I'm not yet 30 and have had them for years. Nipple hairs too. DP is a bit of a sporner and takes great delight in plucking them all out. He's been known to attack me with tweezers while I'm doing something totally unrelated.

Flupibass · 06/03/2020 21:37

I had about a years worth of electrolysis, going about once a month. It was horrible going but it really worked. I had got to the point where I didn’t like people to look at me as had moustache and chin hair. It really changed my life, made me feel so much better about myself. That was a few years ago, I probably should go back to get a top up though.

surlycurly · 06/03/2020 21:43

@ShesCurly is your name in her honour too?

OP posts:
Jupiters · 06/03/2020 21:47

I swear by the lilibeth for dealing with fluff/peach fuss.

ShesCurly · 06/03/2020 21:47

@surlycurly

Hahaha! I like you Grin

Unfortunately no, she is the only straight curl about my person. She just has to be different. Textbook Chinthia, nothing but trouble.

surlycurly · 06/03/2020 21:52

I like you too my fellow curly one. I reckon our abominable chins could be pals. That sounds a bit like a 90's Indy band though doesn't it, 'the abominable chins'. One hit wonders, obviously. Or in my case, two.

This is hilarious - I wrote about chin and nipple/boob hairs, the thick wiry ones that come out of nowhere, at 24 because I was so fucking horrified no one had warned me about them!

Have had belly and toe hair since puberty - joys 😂

Tweezers and not caring too much are your friends - watched Mum having electrolysis for years and she still plucks regularly, I refuse to shave because cba to do it daily and don't want stubble, have been given a NoNo but not sure I am brave enough to try it on my legs let alone my face!

Generally I figure if someone's close enough to see the hair on my chin/belly/boobs/toes, either they don't care either or they shouldn't be that close!

undercoveraessedai · 06/03/2020 22:07

(I'm now 34. It has not got better in the last decade Envy

Amrapaali · 06/03/2020 22:12

This is one of the funniest threads I've read on MN in a long, loooong time Grin

My beard is currently full and luxurious. A strategically placed wart and a black pointy hat and I'm good to go...

Yes to the random scythe-like hair in the middle of my eyebrow. Completely puzzled the lady who does my threading. She walked around looking at it from different angles before cautiously snipping it off with scissors.

snowone · 06/03/2020 22:13

You lucky lady - I'm 37 and have at least 10 that I have to regularly remove (and have since my late 20s) as well as a Tash that I wax off every 6 weeks! Always keep a pair of tweezers in your car, the car mirror and good light helps to spot the little bleepers!
