Fuck, there are hairs on my chin!!!

Help... there are two of them. They are about a cm long each. I'm 42. How in the name of suffering fuck did they get there? How did they get to that length with me noticing? They're quite lush, like they've been conditioned. Clearly my moisturiser agrees with them. How is this a thing? I thought I had 30 years or so to go before worrying about this. Can I expect more? Will I end up like cousin IT by the end of the year? Help!!!!

I could grow a full beard and Selleckesque tasche if I were so inclined.
Not to mention the nipple hairs.

All started when I was 26 :( (incidentally the year I married the EXH....Do you think my body just gave up?)

MrsBeeluga · 06/03/2020 00:20

30 years! You though you had 30 years before dealing with this 🤣🤣.

Wait 10 and you will be able to career change and join the circus as the bearded lady.

The buggers get coarse like wire, grow faster than bamboo and multiply by the minute. Buy the best tweezers you can and a magnifying glass, because your eyesight will probably be shit, so you can feel them, but not see them.

TheFormidableMrsC · 06/03/2020 00:29

Bought a x10 magnifying mirror and discovered the beard I never knew I had 😎

thesunwillout · 06/03/2020 00:35

@BedraggledBlitz 😆😆

MrsBeeluga · 06/03/2020 00:35

😁 @TheFormidableMrsC the trouble is that the magnifying mirror, magnifies your wrinkles 10 times too Confused.

PorpentinaScamander · 06/03/2020 00:36

I practically have a beard I get so many. I'm only 35. Sad I also get a couple of really dark ones on my top lip. Angry

I epilate as often as I need to. Every couple of weeks seems to keep them at bay. I used to pluck them. Then upgraded to the spring thing mentioned by a PP.
Then bought an epilator because they were getting too numerous for the spring. (Plus ds kept breaking them)

shuttheblinds · 06/03/2020 02:24

Buy a Lilibeth for the white downy facial bastard hairs! About 15quid and gets rid of all mine.

TakemedowntoPotatoCity · 06/03/2020 03:34

Chill TF out and welcome to middle age.

StinkyWizleteets · 06/03/2020 03:49

I’ve had really big moley hairs since early thirties and then the chin hairs and dark moustache appeared in my late 30s. I have a moley hair on my top lip (mole is nearly invisible). It’s pure white now but used to be black) and it grows straight out, not down like the others. I can see it taunting me if I look down. It’s the only one that hurts to remove.

I’ve been tempted to get my top lip waxed but the pain and ultimate redness frightens me

Megan2018 · 06/03/2020 04:02

I get these curly white ones that appear overnight on my tragus- plucking those is ever so satisfying but it is the pube-like texture that disturbs

I have rogue white eyebrow hairs, rogue white pubes and yet black chin hairs. Why is it that way round?! Why not white chin hair? Mother nature is a bitch.

Tweezers are life.

Wallywobbles · 06/03/2020 04:36

I had mine professionally lasered to little effect and none on the white ones. So I go every 6 months and have electrolysis. The pain is unfuckingreal but it works. I can't see myself ever running out of hairs though

BinkyandBunty · 06/03/2020 04:43

Check your toes too, OP. Grin

surlycurly · 06/03/2020 06:10

Christ on a bike- the horrors that await me! It won't be the Coronavirus that keeps me in the house, it'll be the prospect of looking like a Yeti!!!

BearSoFair · 06/03/2020 09:06

My first chin hair appeared before I was 30! I'm mid 40s now and feel quite lucky I only get 3 or 4 that come through noticeably thick. But just wait until you start getting the big toe hairs, they're even more of a shock Shock Grin God I hope it isn't just me

SeasonallySnowyPeasant · 06/03/2020 09:15

I started growing nipple pubes after having DD. I pluck them with tweezers. DP thinks it’s very funny.

SeasonallySnowyPeasant · 06/03/2020 09:15

@BearSoFair I get my toes waxed when they do my bikini line.

namechangedforthis1122 · 06/03/2020 09:23

Get electrolysis. It is not expensive like laser , maybe £20 for a session depending where you live. And it will target individual hairs and they will not grow back.

Rainyrain · 06/03/2020 10:00

I have been told that the chin hairs grow in a spiral under the skin before they break free which is why they are 3cm long when they didn’t even exist the day before.
It doesn’t make me like them but it does stop me panicking that I’ve been walking around with them there for weeks.
I just have tweezers everywhere and pluck. I find it quite therapeutic.

Borntobeamum · 06/03/2020 10:02

I cut myself shaving the other morning. Try explaining that to your hubby 🤦‍♀️

HappydaysArehere · 06/03/2020 10:18

I’ve had them for years, they appeared in my early thirties. At first I found a local shop that did electrolysis for a very reasonable amount every few weeks. This place was sold so no more of that. However, I had been told there never to pluck them if some appeared between appointments as this distorted the hair follicle and thickened the hair. I was told to snip them with scissors. Later I met someone socially who taught a course on beauty at a college. I asked her and she gave me exactly the same advice. So now I snip only and hope for the best.

GetawayfromthatWelshtart · 06/03/2020 10:24

I reckon that the hairs from your eyebrows slowly move to your chin/ face/ corners of mouth/ nose like migrating herds of hairs going south for the winter.

One day you have a lovely crop of eyebrows and the next they are thinning and you suddenly find hairs growing everywhere that they shouldn't be.

My chin hairs are coming out white now. I mean FFS. Grey chin hairs sticking out like evil face reeds.

MutteringDarkly · 06/03/2020 10:47

@Staywithmemyblood I've long had tweezers in every bag/pocket/car dashpocket for the dark ones, but as you say, the FLUFF is a whole other thing. I was going to attack it with the blade thing that came in my Eyebrow Taming Toolkit. I see another poster has recommended a Lilibeth (which looks like sort of the same thing, a cut-throat razor but made pink and pretty to show it's for bearded ladies )

I will report back. Probably after replacing the FLUFF with stubble rash.

Luunaa · 06/03/2020 18:32

Oh I have found my people. Not you OP with your 1 or 2 hairs!

I have about 15 on each side of my chin that I pluck. They are so THICK and black. I keep tweezers in my car and do it most days. Drives me fucking bananas

Luunaa · 06/03/2020 18:33

oh and I have a Lumea that hasn't made a dot of difference because mine is PCOS caused.

katebushscat · 06/03/2020 18:39

Have you had the 5cm eye brows yet

Lol sometimes I think I'm alone in all this. So nice to hear everyone's suffering!!
