What do you wish you never googled?

I came across a term that I very stupidly googled. It’s just vile and the mere thought of it makes me nauseous.

Have you ever googled something you wish you hadn’t?

I once Googled DPs name when we started going out 16 years ago, turns out he was on a gay modelling site 😩 obviously as you can imagine I wanted an explanation not that I cared if he was bi sexual just as to why he was on it, he then told me that his Mum used to beat him up because she was an alcoholic so he ran away from home when he was 13, lived with his best friend till she was killed in a car crash when he was 16, he went back home but worked and went to college so he didn’t have to be home and when he ran away to london when he was 18 and that’s the only job he could get first of all, it paid well and he quit it soon after we got serious. I did wish I didn’t google his name so he could have told me in his own time. Now we’ve been together 16 years have 2 dc 😊

This is kind of the exact opposite!

On another thread, I was going to use the phrase 'petite mort' to describe what I imagine it might feel like when your loved ones move to the other side of the world and, although you're all very much alive, may well live for years yet, the handful of times that you might potentially see each other again in person before one of you dies must seem, in a small way, like a kind of partial death.

Glad I checked before I used it, just to make sure that it was actually used to mean what I believed it did. It wasn't.... Grin

NameChangeNugget · 23/02/2020 22:41

Alabama Hot Pocket. Thankfully DH has never asked

NewNameChange2020 · 23/02/2020 22:42

Sounding.

Enjoy Grin

JustForTheTasteOfIt · 23/02/2020 22:43

Sootikins. Bloody mumsnet Envy

lostinleaves · 23/02/2020 22:45

Years ago, not something I googled but a so called friend sent me a link which I stupidly clicked on which was saddam husseins execution. I felt sick for days, no sympathy for him but it was gruesome.

TheGoatIsHere · 23/02/2020 22:48

Bubble and squeak (not the food)

UsainDolt · 23/02/2020 22:56

Here's hoping the DCs don't check my browsing history ConfusedGrin

Dieu · 23/02/2020 22:59

I don't dare google, but I do wish you'd all be so kind as to provide written descriptions of these. I could handle that, but visuals are a no-no (unless I know what it is first). Grin

Imonlydoingwhatican · 23/02/2020 23:03

Yes.

It was a sex thing, im no prude but i was grossed out.

Bringmewineandcake · 23/02/2020 23:05

Dieu urban dictionary is your friend. I have looked up a lot of these now, and urban dictionary gives you a nice written definition with no danger of actual images Grin

OutOntheTilez · 23/02/2020 23:08

Junko Furuta.

As Awwlookatmybabyspider stated, just don't. I wish I hadn't.

EndIsNigh · 23/02/2020 23:10

Ok, had to Google them all. Now having to delete my search history Shock

FearOfTheDuck · 23/02/2020 23:13

Goatse.

I also wish I'd never heard of 'A Serbian Film' or 'The Human Centipede '. I haven't seen either, but reading the synopses on Wikipedia was horrible enough.

AutumnRose1 · 23/02/2020 23:20

OMD the newspapers had stories about the Human Centipede and I was worried my parents would be upset by it. I mean, just the idea. Left me feeling ill for days.

Abelino · 23/02/2020 23:20

A murder where the killer had posted on 4chan while he was doing it. I had no intention of going on 4chan, I just wanted to read a news story about it. I clicked on a story but it wasn't a mainstream news site and there were photos of the poor woman's body at the murder scene. It took a few seconds to realise what I was looking at, and it's stuck in my head forever.

There was also something years ago I googled, a skin disease that made skin grow a bark-like substance; major regrets, still makes my skin crawl.

TwitcherOfCurtains · 23/02/2020 23:22

Junko Furuta. For your own good please please heed warning and dont

Reading about that disturbed me for months, really regret ever googling it.

JeremyCorbynsTopLip · 23/02/2020 23:22

I'd say 'Alabama hot pocket' took the cake for most memorable, blue waffle for just blech, I'm not really that phased by it though, am I wrong in the head?

TwitcherOfCurtains · 23/02/2020 23:27

Kelly Anne Bates is another I googled after seeing it mentioned here.
Absolutely horrific.

LaurieFairyCake · 23/02/2020 23:27

I've relearned today that the American govt recruited top Nazi scientists (who tortured with impunity Jewish prisoners) and gave them nice homes and nice lives so they could benefit from the knowledge gained in those horrific experiments.

I say I've 'relearned' - at one point I know I knew this. The full horror of what they did I didn't know.

Just the worst Sad

Phrowzunn · 23/02/2020 23:29

Trypophobia - you don’t know what it is until you google it then once you google it you’ve got it

LaurieFairyCake · 23/02/2020 23:32

I 'caught' tryphophobia by looking at it on google and now don't have it

No idea why

thequeenbeyondthewall · 23/02/2020 23:33

Omg yes trypophipia!!

I now have it. Spaghetti hoops are
Dead to me. Just in case.

It's so strange how urggh it makes me feel for no reason at all.

thequeenbeyondthewall · 23/02/2020 23:33

I literally caught it off here a year ago 😂

thequeenbeyondthewall · 23/02/2020 23:34
