The way a lot of women aspire to look these days - orange fake tan, ombré eyebrows, lip/cheek fillers/Botox, hair extensions, ridiculously long fake nails (how can they do anything practical whilst wearing those?!) and lashings of make up. The natural look is so much nicer!

Vacuous reality TV, such as Love Island, TOWIE etc.

The Kardashians, Disney, velvet/mirrored furniture, posting a running commentary of everything mundane you’ve done today on Social Media, Mrs Browns Boys, people who only ever use a filter on their photos (can’t remember what they actually look like without one!), SM influencers... there are probably lots more but can’t think off the top of my head!

Surely the answer to all these is 'because people have different tastes'? There's not much to understand about it! These threads always end up as a way of looking down on people with less MC/cultured/aspirational tastes.

Exactly @lazylinguist even the OP isn't that bothered with the replies as they haven't been back since they started the thread 6 pages ago.

Huge big thick fake eyelashes, they are unhygienic. The day ones are ok but the ones that are glued on longterm make me feel sick. My friend had them and she kept getting eye infections. It's just a similar feeling to looking at someone with dirty nails. Some of them do look nice but I could never have them.

@3luckystars I've been getting lash extentions for 10 years on and off and have never had an infection. Your friend can't be using someone very reputable. I wash my face the same was I do when I don't have lashes on so they are clean I promise. I know what you mean though, some look awful and filthy.

Fake nails.

They all look awful. All of them. No matter how much you spend on them. Sick of being served by waitresses and shop assistants who can barely get change out of a till with their 2 inch long nails
