Christmas is so hard when your life isn't storybook

Hallowe'en if it was embraced in this country the way it is by the Americans, great. But it isn't and its dragging kids out in the dark with high expectations from films, with one or two houses lit up per street and the rest having to sitting in near darkness and hope no one knocks. Also Mischief Night is a thing were I live and generally terrorises people.

Bonfire Night. Noisy, cold.

Hen Parties. Tacky, cringe

Snow, renders me housebound.

Food, cooking and eating out. Except on a special occasion it's just fuel to me, and I don't understand why everyone seems so obsessed with food these days. Perhaps it's my age. (50+)
