I'm having a run of bad luck and in an effort to try and stay positive I'm focusing on happy little things. So minor they could just be taken for granted but sometimes those things see you through.

My oven isn't broken after all.
I've made a lovely cake in my non broken oven and the smell has filled the house.
I'm spending time sewing this afternoon.... a Harry Potter quilt for the dog.

Anyone else?

I bought a Malteaser bunny and forgot to eat it so now I'll have the surprise of finding it in my coat pocket on some future date (I'll have forgotten about it by morning.)

aibutohavethisusername · 03/03/2020 23:09

I’d never forget about chocolate.

MaidenMotherCrone · 05/03/2020 09:24

Its a beautiful day here, cold and crisp with a blue sky. I'm off to feed the robins.

Every time I use this OVO good grips scoop to empty my cafetiere it makes me happy because it is SO perfect for the task .

It also makes me happy that MN posters found the answer to a niggling problem that I couldn't solve myself .

Thank you thank you for recommending it @Curious1981 !!

DH and I spent almost an hour this evening on Skype to DS1, who is away in his first year at Uni. It's the first time I've seen him to talk to since he want back on 10 January, although there have been occasional WhatsApps. It was lovely to chat to my boy about Stuff.

Zisforstripyoss · 05/03/2020 21:18

I absolutely smashed my yoga this morning - felt like a real badass.

My DCat isn't dying (this is actually massive, we thought he might be for a while there.)

Madein1995 · 05/03/2020 23:18

I had a good day at work and some positive feedback

I dealt with an angry service user well and with confidence

I managed to leave work early, and get a lift.

Im in work late tomorrow so can lie in a bit

StCharlotte · 05/03/2020 23:46

My copy of the Sara Cox autobiography arrived today. I've waited months for the paperback to come out.

Frownette · 06/03/2020 09:00

I've got a gorgeous cup of tea and chocolate, and am catching up with one of my girlfriends tonight :)

PrivateSpidey · 06/03/2020 09:11

It's a lovely frosty day here today too.

We are getting some topsoil, chippings and sand delivered this morning - sounds so unexciting I know. But we are doing a massive renovation project on our house and garden, and this is to fill up the borders and make a base for a play house at the bottom of the garden. Another step towards having all the plants and shrubs I've been waiting to put in!

Excited about soil - never thought it would come to this!!

PrivateSpidey · 06/03/2020 09:14

Also I found a creme egg in my bag so I'm going to save that for tonight when I'm going to watch Virgin River on Netflix Smile

TowandaForever · 06/03/2020 17:37

@PrivateSpidey

I watched the first series all in one go. The male lead is so handsome!!

Liddell · 06/03/2020 17:46

This morning, DCat slept on the pillow beside me.

Took DDog for a woodland walk, saw wild cyclamens, crocuses and snowdrops.

Lambs in the field beside walk, and a mare and her foal in the other one.

IWillWearTheGreenWillow · 07/03/2020 08:04

DS3 and I spent a couple of hours outside yesterday, in the sunshine and daffodils. It was glorious (if a little chilly).

mathanxiety · 08/03/2020 00:32

Spent the morning doing a 'find your strengths' kind of course. Twas a lot of fun and there were snacks laid on. I am a little concerned that my 'strengths' are all in 'evil genius' territory, but on the bright side, only one person spilled coffee all over the table and it wasn't me! Found a few nice summer tops in my local charity shop on my way home, and today's weather holds the promise of spring.

IWillWearTheGreenWillow · 08/03/2020 08:05

@mathanxiety, I'm both tickled and intruiged by the idea of "evil genius" strengths. Can I have some? Grin

I spent yesterday with DM and another cousin sorting out my grandmother's photo albums and working out who was who. That generation are all long gone now (DGM was the last to go, in 1998) and so it was lovely to be able to capture the information now, while we still have a fighting chance of doing so. Feeling very positive about having lovely family memories available for my DC when they are interested.

BlodwynBludd · 08/03/2020 08:57

This thread has made me happy. I'm grateful that I am cancer free right now. My dh, both my ds's, my dog and cats are all healthy. My ds (3) asked if he could make dinner for me yesterday and he and dh made me pasta and when he served it he said 'thank you for helping me daddy'. Was very cute.

Horehound · 08/03/2020 08:58

I saw a stoat today and i was pretty excited by that. Pure white except for black tip on tail. Woo!

PrivateSpidey · 08/03/2020 10:38

Blodwyn that's brilliant Flowers

V envious of the stoat btw! I've noticed the birds coming back into the garden over the last few weeks, and yesterday the magpies were back in our NDN's tall trees - loads of them (even more than the rhyme) - I lost count at about 14 Shock

TowandaForever - he certainly is. I really enjoyed it, in a so bad it's good way!

Nice things for today: I've made a banana bread, that's now in the oven, and I'm about to go outside and "help" with putting the soil down in the garden (but I'll probably mostly be making cups of tea!).

Have a good day everyone Brew

TheCountessatHotelCortez · 08/03/2020 10:54

DH took me to see the film I wanted to see last night out of nowhere, no suggestion of it or anything until half an hour before the showing, it was lovely
