A nice thread about nice little things.......in an effort to remain positive.

I'm having a run of bad luck and in an effort to try and stay positive I'm focusing on happy little things. So minor they could just be taken for granted but sometimes those things see you through.

My oven isn't broken after all.
I've made a lovely cake in my non broken oven and the smell has filled the house.
I'm spending time sewing this afternoon.... a Harry Potter quilt for the dog.

Anyone else?

I shall post a pic but don't be expecting anything special. I'm just having a go at it and the dog isn't overly critical Grin

Here's a pic of the Robin on DHs hand.

My hyacinths have just come out and they look lovely.

Spudlet · 23/02/2020 16:07

I made DS his own special apron yesterday. I can’t wait to do some baking with my little helper on Tuesday!

Today has been windy but that meant we could fly the kite. Or we tried. We crashed a lot. But nobody got cross or frustrated about it. Smile

Ooh lovely thread - thank you, just what I needed. A pair of (I think) coal tits appear to be moving into our bird house - I didn't think that would actually happen!

Spudlet · 24/02/2020 13:57

Ooh, love the quilt! Lucky Stan 😊

MaidenMotherCrone · 24/02/2020 14:09

@Pootles34 How exciting! I'd be thrilled.

My old dog has just had the mad zoomies around the house. I didn’t think she had the energy anymore and it was very lovely and funny to see 🥰.

Froq · 24/02/2020 16:42

I love the quilt!

Stan is a very lucky boy. As is your DH having a robin sit on his hand.

Bunnylady54 · 24/02/2020 17:04

Stan is a fab name for a dog!
Lovely thread. DD11 went back to school this morning but had tried everything to get a day off ( she has attachment disorder & anxiety so this is a fairly regular occurrence). I had a lot thrown at me, literally & figuratively, but kept calm & when she got home she was in a better frame of mind.
Narcissi are blooming in my back garden
The rabbits are being exceptionally adorable, which gladdens my heart
I have the best hoover ( Shark) I have ever owned & using it is a joy!
I have bought a new shade of my fav hair dye ( chocolate brownie) & looking forward to DH doing it for me later in the week

villainousbroodmare · 24/02/2020 17:26

I scratched my knee and my 4yo DS rushed over to kiss it repeatedly, glancing up after each little kiss to ask "Better?" ...mwaah "Better?"

Spudlet · 24/02/2020 17:27

villanous That is so lovely ❤️

MaidenMotherCrone · 24/02/2020 18:55

Thank you ❤️

Spudlet he's been challenging lately but was absolutely amazing today. ♡

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 24/02/2020 19:13

I mopped the kitchen floor. Within minutes of getting home, DD2 had changed and was out of the back door in her wellies, leaving a trail of dried mud- and it really made me smile. The innocence of childhood.

And the fact I'm smiling at mess makes me even happier- the depression I've copied with for the last couple of years is really lifting.

Spudlet · 24/02/2020 19:40

villanous They definitely know when they’re on the verge of being put onto eBay and pull it back, ime Grin Mine is the same age and also very keen on doling out kisses better as a panacea to all ills!

sunshineANDsweetpeas · 24/02/2020 19:53

I've walked the dogs twice today and it was warmer than I expected. My back isn't hurting as much as it did yesterday.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/02/2020 20:02

Around the World - how lovely!

Loving the quilt and the apron.

Dowser · 24/02/2020 20:19

Today’s snow did not lay and it reached 11 degrees this afternoon

Dowser · 24/02/2020 20:21

MaidenMotherCrone I love your user name and I shall pinch it if you ever flounce off 😁
That quilt is beautiful

3luckystars · 24/02/2020 20:24

I've ordered some fabric with poppies on it and am going to make a top!!

lavenderlove · 24/02/2020 20:25

On my village Facebook group, someone asked if there were any handy people who could go and replace a broken curtain pole for their elderly mum, and 3 different tradesmen replied within minutes saying they would offer their services for free today. Thought it was so lovely
