I'm having a run of bad luck and in an effort to try and stay positive I'm focusing on happy little things. So minor they could just be taken for granted but sometimes those things see you through.

My oven isn't broken after all.
I've made a lovely cake in my non broken oven and the smell has filled the house.
I'm spending time sewing this afternoon.... a Harry Potter quilt for the dog.

Anyone else?

I've got the day off. That makes me very happy.

I've had a lovely cup of coffee, and some toast with real butter and posh marmalade.

boredboredboredboredbored · 26/02/2020 07:16

I just got married again at 42 and am totally in love 💕💕💕

Strugglingtodomybest · 26/02/2020 07:25

Congrats bored!

I'm grateful that I'm snuggly warm in bed with a cup of tea and not living on the streets.

LottaHogs · 26/02/2020 08:07

Our most recent foster rescued dog went on a home trial with a lovely couple 2 weeks ago. What makes them special is the fact they already have a previous foster puppy of ours. Both dogs adore each other and play a lot, the humans love him and foster dog has found his warm spot on their sofa - so they’re adopting him!

Happy ending 😍

Disfordarkchocolate · 26/02/2020 08:18

Like lots of people, we had nice pancakes last night. My lovely son came home from school very happy because there was chocolate cake left (he has no idea how close to eating it I was).

Today is going to be nice because I'm going to have pancakes for lunch (didn't get quite enough last night). Loving Stan's quilt, I have quilt envy (nice envy not nasty envy).

MaidenMotherCrone · 26/02/2020 08:21

@LottaHogs that really is a lovely thing. Happy endings are few and far between.
I'm so pleased for all involved and you are doing a wonderful job fostering dogs.Star

Today is my 30th day as alcohol-free. Plus it's also my day off. I cannot actually believe I've a full day to faff about and am still in bed, contemplating how lucky I am 😍

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 26/02/2020 08:38

I've had a bacon sandwich, a pint of coffee, and I'm lying in bed listening to Professor Elemental. Also the agency have got me another day's work to round the week off.

Disfordarkchocolate · 26/02/2020 08:43

LottaHogs' post has filled me with joy. Missing our rescue dog here and it's not the right time to get a new dog. It's lovely to remember how much he loved having a home.

Spudlet · 26/02/2020 11:04

So many lovely things on here 😊

DS brought some art home from preschool the other day. I’m the top one, and DH is the bottom one.

DS has a speech delay (although he’s having quite intensive speech therapy, partly courtesy of his grandparents as we had to go private) and is possibly on the ASD spectrum - he’s on the diagnostic pathway but no-one can say for sure as he’s quite borderline. So these milestones like painting Mummy and Daddy mean an awful lot ❤️

My birdfeeders are covered in bluetits, and there are robins pecking around on the grass underneath. And there are some squirrels foraging at the other side of the garden.

MaidenMotherCrone · 26/02/2020 11:54

@Spudlet they are so sweet and very precious. I have an art folder filled with every picture, letter, card, note my 3 ever presented me with. My youngest is 21 now Smile.

Today I had a hot chocolate that would be insulted to just be nice. I am now in my happy placeSmile.

Even better I drove to the cafe selling the fantastic hot chocolate, my first drive alone for about 4/5 months.

My daughter is due a baby soon and today I helped do her washing for baby arriving. My clothes horse is full of tiny little baby grows, vests and hats and mitts. The smell of fairy non bio and comfort baby is all through the house. My heart feels full and I have a lump in my throat looking at themSmile

Lynda07 · 26/02/2020 15:09

I had lovely fish fingers followed by pancakes last night.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 26/02/2020 22:29

DD (nearly 7) was telling me today about Flying Fish... And how they like flying over football pitches. She was adamant she had read about it in one of her books. We worked out it must be they can fly fir over 100m... A football pitch. But DD is very dubious of our interpretation and is certain she is right, and it must mean football pitches on the beach

Her passion for knowledge and unusual wildlife makes me smile... Especially when she gets mixed up!

Wereallsquare · 26/02/2020 22:42

@Awks Congrats on 30 days!

I had a lovely late lunch of kale and onion mashed potatoes and sausages.

Every single encounter I had today was pleasant.

PinPon · 26/02/2020 22:46

My 7 year old wrote me a Minecraft fact today. A long one, in his best handwriting. And there were lots of chocolate biscuits at work today... yum.

undercoveraessedai · 26/02/2020 22:48

This is the loveliest thread!!

Yesterday I was surprised with a beautiful gift when I was feeling particularly low and my faith in humanity is restored.

This evening I'm on the sofa with a cat on my lap and the heating on, feeling very lucky and very loved.

mathanxiety · 27/02/2020 05:22

Pancakes! I knew I was forgetting something on Tuesday Blush
I will make some tomorrow as I have the morning off.

WhatDoIDooDIoDtahW · 27/02/2020 05:30

8 week old DD sleeps through, starts stirring at 5am when DP’s alarm goes off.

He makes me a cup of tea and DD does a huge arms above head, back arching stretch when I plop her down on the changing mat. Then excitedly looks at me and chews her hands because she knows she’s about to get a nice warm milky breakfast.

5am or not, it’s my favourite part of the day. She just makes my heart swell. Flowers

MaidenMotherCrone · 27/02/2020 17:07

I had a lovely telephone chat with my friend and we laughed and laughed.

Happy dog woke me this morning "Hey, wake up, hurrah, it's morning, AGAIN! hello I love you, can't believe it's a new day, hurrah! And it's 5 .30 already, get up". There's nothing so cheering as a happy 🐕.

RainySaturday · 27/02/2020 18:51

I managed to hit quite a few decent shots in badminton today, whereas I'm usually lazy and rubbish.
And I walked the dog on the snow and sunshine on the golf course this morning. Bliss.
