I'm having a run of bad luck and in an effort to try and stay positive I'm focusing on happy little things. So minor they could just be taken for granted but sometimes those things see you through.

My oven isn't broken after all.
I've made a lovely cake in my non broken oven and the smell has filled the house.
I'm spending time sewing this afternoon.... a Harry Potter quilt for the dog.

Anyone else?

I am having a sneaky, quiet Sunday afternoon bath with a really hot cup of coffee while DH holds the fort, with my favourite bath bubbles. Bliss.

The sun has been shining all day, I suddenly have an unexpectedly lovely spring garden, DS1 WhatsApp'd from uni to show us he was buying cleaning products (!) and I got the first wash dry on the line today! 🌼🌷☀️

Disfordarkchocolate · 11/03/2020 17:30

It's wet and grey here but I am full of joy. Today I walked into town by myself for the first time in 18 months. I got myself congratulatory chocolate.

Sat out in the sun today, corner shop owner gave me loads of free fruit.

I bought an orange and a kiwi and he said I must have some pears and more oranges so I went home laden down.

We had a family chat about taking our mum out for her birthday and agreed that it would be best to delay atm. Albeit not exactly good news or happy it's more a sense of relief and a lovely feeling that we all have our DMs best interests at heart and it felt like it brought us closer together as a family at a time of intense anxiety all round.

My window clean has to be the kindest man ever. We had coffee and a chat today and he told me of the sweet old lady on the neighbouring farm who he visits before me. She had been booking a taxi to take her to the Drs in town when he noticed the state of her filthy nails. Her poor arthritic hands are too contorted and weak for her to be able to hold the nail brush properly.
He sat her down with a bowl of soapy water and soaked her fingers then cleaned her nails and clipped them so that she didn't have to go to town with grubby hands.
I was all teared up when he was telling me how grateful she was.

He's the kind of person who would share his last pack of bog roll with you. Star

My DS is on his way home from Uni. Long, long drive and I can't wait to see his lovely face.

I've made a huge cauldron of soup from my frozen chicken carcass stash. One isn't enough imo so I've used 3 and lots of fridge loitering veg. It smells so good and homely.

Im halfway through making a pair of summer dungarees today and I'm starting to make a pair of very smart pyjamas with my vintage Laura Ashley cotton lawn.

My DS1 arrived back from Uni yesterday and, even tho it has thrown the whole house into chaos, I'm just so pleased to have him back. The dog has wagged himself silly.

From my regional news - hoping you'll be able to see it. It's a high school madrigal choir singing together remotely.

mathanxiety · 22/03/2020 03:30

That's also on FB. The account is West Aurora Choir.

It was the best news ever.
