I'm having a run of bad luck and in an effort to try and stay positive I'm focusing on happy little things. So minor they could just be taken for granted but sometimes those things see you through.

My oven isn't broken after all.
I've made a lovely cake in my non broken oven and the smell has filled the house.
I'm spending time sewing this afternoon.... a Harry Potter quilt for the dog.

Anyone else?

It’s Saturday morning and I’m having ten minutes in bed listening to the rain on my window.

Yesterday I did lots of laundry so don’t have to do as much today.

Positivity is a bit thin on the ground here Grin

due to the floods (we had it bad in Tenbury Wells) i couldnt take flowers to mum and dads grave for their wedding anniversary which was the 15th feb though it is a long way we went yesterday afternoon i put some lovely yellow roses and white chrysanthemums on the grave and it looked nice.
then i saw my one daughter the other had pre arranged plans so will try and get across soon to see her.
my daughter had a box of photos that belonged to her late father. his wife passed away the other week and one of the family thought my daughters would like them.
it was lovely to sit with her and explain who the people were in the photos as she had no idea and for her to see more about her fathers life. its nice now its past for me and no animosity even though the 13 years of marriage was sheer hell.
even nicer was my partner was not jealous or spiteful about me talking about me and my ex he said my daughter deserves to know her family history bless him

DD4 has mastered the art of making both cakes and brownies in the Instant Pot. Bliss! We can have goodies all summer here in the broiling midwest US.

Same DD recently persuaded me to change my eye makeup look and I am very pleased with the results.

Such a lovely thread

I took dgc's to the cinema and the 4yo spent the entire film sitting on my knee being very snuggly-I could have sat there for another 90 minutes!

Dc2 landed a much needed new job this week-so pleased for him and finally, received a last minute invite to friends for supper tonight.

Disfordarkchocolate · 22/02/2020 09:17

Just the thought of a Harry Potter quilt being made for your dog made me smile. Thank you for making me happy.

Mydogatemypurse · 22/02/2020 09:21

I won an expensive jacket on e bay for £25. I've wanted a decent waterproof walking coat for ages and I'm really pleased to have got it for this price. Especially as I never seem to stop spending all my money on school schoes my boys destroy.

mindproject · 22/02/2020 09:34

I've been changing a few bits and pieces in my kitchen and now it makes me happy when I walk in. I ordered a shiny new toaster yesterday which will complete it.

DD was in fits of laughter yesterday, we had a play fight and tickle fight. She's nearly 14 but never too old. She's not a grumpy teenager and I'm very happy about that.

I just woke up from a really nice dream after a long lie in.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/02/2020 09:35

Lovely thread.

I've currently got a borrowed dog snuggled into bed with me.

I bought some new super comfortable knickers from John Lewis which have made my bottom feel very cosy and happy!

The park is full of crocuses and the garden is full of daffodils, and the five bunches of flowers I got for my birthday over two weeks ago are all still alive. I've also rediscovered house plants recently so the house looks so lovely.

After a run of choosing books that just aren't gripping me I have found one i'm really enjoying. It's 11.22.63 by Stephen King. Haven't read one of his since I was a teenager but I'm really enjoying curling up with it after DS goes to bed.

Depressedbywork · 22/02/2020 09:48

After waking unnecessarily early this week (maybe just stress) I slept in today and am still in bed.

MilaRos · 22/02/2020 09:50

I've woken up to the sound of the trees swaying. Just having a lovely cup of tea on the balcony at centre Parcs. Peace and quiet

This reminds me of my disappointment when a gorgeous jacket (BNWB full price £140) only sold for 99p on eBay. I consoled myself with thinking how delighted the buyer would be Smile

princessspotify · 22/02/2020 09:56

My books that I ordered online have arrived. It has cheered up my morning

I've just bought a book from Amazon on making yeasted and quick breads in the IP. Looking forward to trying some recipes.

Funtcase95 · 22/02/2020 10:12

My 3 month old DD is now happy to play in her bouncer for a good 20 minutes - leaving me able to take her with me whilst I do housework and have a shower!! Smile

Parsley65 · 22/02/2020 12:00

Ooh, let's think.
Dh brought me a mug of coffee in bed first thing and I enjoyed that in the first light.
Went for a restorative and blustery walk around the local canal. Listened to a fabulous podcast of Desert Island Disks with Ian Wright. I nearly didn't bother as I have no knowledge of or interest in football, but it was amazing. Made my cry.

peaceanddove · 22/02/2020 12:37

I ordered a pack of new knickers from M&S and they fit perfectly. They're plain black, low rise shorts but very fine, silky cotton with tiny bit of lace trim.

Our teens are out and about having fun with friends, and DH is on the train back from London so looking forward to a kiss and cuddle with him soon x

Pricklypear12 · 22/02/2020 13:32

What a lovely thread

DD has been pretty well behaved over the last couple of days
Had a nice night in front of TV watching my favourite series with a nice homemade burger and a Gu cheesecake
DH will be back on Monday after being away for a week

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/02/2020 13:48

Just taken this little guy for a stroll.

My sister phoned to tell me her new-ish rescue dog played with another dog at the park for the first time Smile She sounded so proud it really made me happy for her!

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 23/02/2020 13:46

Had the builder round to replace the dodgy light switch in the bathroom. No more six pulls to get it on, trying it at different pulling angles whilst desperate for a wee Yay! :)

MaidenMotherCrone · 23/02/2020 15:04

The Harry Potter quilt for the dog is almost finished and I've just been for a walk and spotted seals on the beach. Yesterday a robin fed from my hand.

Onwards and upwards.

Really looking forward to a pic of the Harry Potter dog quilt btw.

NChangeForNoReason · 23/02/2020 15:13

My ds had a 1.5hr nap and I managed to get my head down Smile

Froq · 23/02/2020 15:21

I just ate a twix in the bath.

OP I hope we’ll get to see the Harry Potter quilt when it’s finished. Seals, robins and a dog - your posts are nice little things to keep us all positive!
