I'm having a run of bad luck and in an effort to try and stay positive I'm focusing on happy little things. So minor they could just be taken for granted but sometimes those things see you through.

My oven isn't broken after all.
I've made a lovely cake in my non broken oven and the smell has filled the house.
I'm spending time sewing this afternoon.... a Harry Potter quilt for the dog.

Anyone else?

I've had a day off and due to the horrible day have had a lovely restful day baking and reading.

I rarely have any me time so have really enjoyed it

BurneyFanny · 21/02/2020 19:45

My six y p had his first sleepover with his grandparents last night. On the way back he picked me some daisies and gave one to a lady and told her she had a cute baby

Seeing my parents and sister and DBil and nephews/nieces for lunch tomorrow. Dh is making a fire. Dd is laughing at a film with a friend in the next room and my son at Uni is Ok.(Has anxiety). So all feeling like it’s going to be fine for next day or so.

IWillWearTheGreenWillow · 21/02/2020 20:00

DH and I got some nasty paperwork out of the way today.

I bought a small bunch of tulips in Lidl and they make the kitchen look cheerful.

Everyone ate the dinner I'd cooked, enjoyed it, and said thank you (3/3! Unheard of)!

emilybrontescorsett · 21/02/2020 20:00

My daffodils are out and my indoor herbs are starting to shoot through.

thecatfromjapan · 21/02/2020 20:05

I have a lovely cup of coffee to drink and a really enjoyable book to read.

I'm happy.

And, thank you, this is a lovely thread.

These posts are like small, glowing beads of happiness in a necklace I can run through my fingers, and smile as I feel the shape of each of you, rounded in contentment.

I took my kids on a big day out with some friends today. DS1 (6yo) is suspected autistic so big days out are usually challenging. He was an angel, a delight and everyone commented on his lovely behaviour and manners. I'm estatic and proud of him. 😁

happytodayhappytomorrow · 21/02/2020 20:05

I realised today why ddog is itching and scratching and chewing so much and so now I can do something about it.

Babymamamama · 21/02/2020 20:10

We are on holiday in the U.K. Despite the storms and worrying about people being flooded out around the country, DD has learned to swim breast stroke this half term week and is super pleased with herself.

Chipsahoy · 21/02/2020 20:18

Crappy week, and most of the day, but this evening I snuggled up with Dc2 (who I always feel misses out on me, he was always the baby and isn't now we have dc3) and we played a word game together.
It made my week tbh.

Because I had a really co-operative author to work with, I finished a piece of editing work early today and invoiced for it, which means I can relax slightly about next month’s bills.

And DP is coming round later, and we’ll settle in and watch something peaceful and listen to the wind blowing outside.

walkingongreyclouds · 21/02/2020 21:06

I was feeling pretty sad tonight but this thread has given me hope, so thank you everyone.

My new boots were £10 in a sale (down from £35) and match one of my belts perfectly, so I'm planning an outfit with the pair of them tomorrow night.

I'm looking forward to work tomorrow, for no reason at all!

I saw two sausage dogs when I was out today - they always make me smile with their little flappy ears and long noses.

I'm watching Wanted Down Under, which I normally find annoying but this time it's giving me hope that summer will be coming back again.

MurrayTheMonk · 21/02/2020 21:13

The daffodil bulbs I planted in the autumn have come out today and look just as I pictured they would.

And the grace fixed my car for £20 when I genuinely thought it would be about £150!

MurrayTheMonk · 21/02/2020 21:16

*garage.

Longsleepneeded · 21/02/2020 21:18

My 3 year old ds told my mum he loved her today, made her week and made me happy for her.

I read my 7 year old ds 2 stories and we had a chat and cuddle at bedtime, rare as usually seeing to 3 year old!

Had a gorgeous hot chocolate and piece of cake after a blowy walk on the beach this morning.

Bringbackthebill · 21/02/2020 21:25

I’ve just remembered that it’s the two free council tax months Feb/mar so it feels like a bonus.

lostinleaves · 21/02/2020 21:32

The dawn chorus is lovely at this time of year, spring is coming.

Allcrimps · 21/02/2020 22:55

Listen to this week's 'this American life' podcast!

StCharlotte · 22/02/2020 00:24

Went for lunch with an adorable colleague and she offered me use of her holiday home in Ireland.

One of my kittens is snuggled up with me in bed Smile

readingismycardio · 22/02/2020 04:23

I have finally started going back to the gym after a very long time and I actually got used to it & enjoy it!
We're getting married this year
I'm healthy
My family is healthy
I have so many opportunities to do good in this world

MaxPaddyandHarry · 22/02/2020 06:13

Daffodils are coming up in the garden.
I watched Paddy Max and Harry (three Springer spaniels) on Facebook and they always make me smile.

BuddhaAtSea · 22/02/2020 06:27

I woke up to the wind howling out there, I was planning a park run. However, there are free slots for my favourite classes at the gym, so I’m doing that instead:)

PenelopeFlintstone · 22/02/2020 06:37

With two very moody teenagers in the house, my days can sometimes be hellish. But today, one is away and the other is being very pleasant. It makes for a completely different atmosphere and I’m grateful and relieved.

TheQueef · 22/02/2020 06:40

My old lady cat (22) has caught us a nice vole for breakfast, she hasn't hurt it just brought it in and released it....

I'm predicting a five hour vole hunt for today.

BillywigSting · 22/02/2020 06:42

I finally found a mascara that doesn't make my eyes water yesterday (from lush, it doesn't look the very best on but I'll take it over pink eyes and might try swapping wands for a different style).

I'm in work today but I'm making rainbow bread with ds later
