Closed down or discontinued - what do you miss?

My local Oasis closed down before Christmas and I miss it so much! I've just been browsing their website and it's just not the same as seeing something on the hanger and thinking "ooh that's pretty!"
My favourite perfume and lipstick have been discontinued. I've been stockpiling thanks to ebay but they've been gone so long now I don't think I will get any more of either now. I won't look or smell the same soon Sad
What do you miss?
I fully expect this thread to be lots of people missing Woolworths and yes I still miss them too

Dr Pepper - went mad in the US recently and stocked up at a Mexican run store.

All it did was remind me how much I miss the sugar based version. I don't buy any tinned soft drinks anymore

Lostchocs · 20/02/2020 14:52

In no particular order:

Pretty much everything that the Body Shop used to sell in the late 80s and early 90s.

Woolworths pick & mix. I know you can get pick & mix in other shops but it is not the same.

Cadbury chocolate before they changed the recipe, especially Roses at Christmas.

Snob.

Kookai.

A lovely pasta salad you used to be able to get from M&S in the 90s. It was pasta with chopped up salad stuff, but also had green apple in it and a kind of Marie Rose sauce. Sounds disgusting but was delicious.

Pretty much everything that Lush used to sell 15 years ago. They discontinued loads of the best products then ramped their prices up.

Lucozade in a glass b out the wrapped in orange cellophane bought by your mum from the local
Chemist when you were poorly.

MINICOOPERDRIVER · 20/02/2020 14:59

Woolworth , BHS

Konicek007 · 20/02/2020 15:04

Ralph Lauren blue for woman perfume.
I miss it forever.

AgeLikeWine · 20/02/2020 15:05

Phileas Fogg mignons morceaux. They were the most Moreish snacks ever.

Mummabear2212 · 20/02/2020 15:06

PetitsGateaux my maiden name was Lee, hazard a guess at my first name (albeit with an 'h'). Every single teacher through school commented on it and their preference for either chocolate or lemon meringue. The sad thing is, as a secondary teacher if I mentioned it now the students would all look at me as if I'd lost my mind!

balonzz · 20/02/2020 15:10

Came on here to say the gorgeous -smelling Vidal Sassoon shampoo, and the original lucozade in the glass bottle with orange cellophane, but I see others have beaten me to it!
Why do manufacturers discontinue popular lines?

Ceebeegee · 20/02/2020 15:44

The Cadbury Marble is only coming back to the Australian market, not the UK, according to Cadbury twitter account

Dizzygirl00 · 20/02/2020 15:46

Also Boots Natural Collection creme blusher and Aldi Shimmering Day Cream, smelt of peaches 🍑 still haven’t got over that one 😔 “sobs”

Lostchocs · 20/02/2020 15:50

To anyone missing the almond scented Vidal Sassoon, Gliss do one which I think smells similar (it definitely reminds me of going to the hairdressers in the 80s and is almondy anyway). I think it’s the one in the white bottle and you can find it in pound shops and other cheapy shops everywhere.

Lostchocs · 20/02/2020 15:51

Ohhhh, Boots Natural Collection in general. Those displays were so tempting. We loved sniffing everything. And the Global Collection with Turkish delight lip balm and two tone pink and blue bath oil which you shook to mix.

BentNeckLady · 20/02/2020 15:53

Armani mania. I’ve got about 6 nights out worth left :(

TheLightGetsIn · 20/02/2020 15:54

Ah, why did this thread have to remind me about Past Times. They were great for random presents. And they were the only place I could get Uncle Joe's Mint Balls in a tin.

Also Laura Ashley children's wear. I don't think anyone took over that particular market for vintage-style/traditional children's clothes, did they? Apart from the odd bit in John Lewis or maybe Monsoon for baby girls.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 20/02/2020 15:58

Past Times. I had some lovely jewellery from there. I miss River Island as it used to be before it went trendy. Also BHS because their knickers were very nice.

TeaAddict235 · 20/02/2020 16:03

Orange creams biscuits
Bay Trading shops
Saxones shops (for their leather bags)
Oasis shops (not crappy concessions)
Tresemme Hair and Scalp Tonic
Garnier Naturals Moisture plus (pink tube)
Kew shops

ChessieFL · 20/02/2020 16:18

@Bunnylady54 Hamleys has a jellybelly pick n mix, if you’re ever in London!

Beamur · 20/02/2020 16:24

Tesco Lincolnshire style vegetarian sausages. DD loves them, doesn't like any other veggie sausages. Discontinued.
Someone else said Armani White perfume too. So lovely.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 20/02/2020 16:27

I don’t know if it’s gone or if my supermarket has stopped stocking it but I used to love lactose-free Philadelphia. Cream cheese without farting is just a distant memory now.

Rosere · 20/02/2020 16:30

Past Times!!!! I forgot about them. All the lovely jewellery and doing my Christmas shopping as a teen. Loved that shop.

BorneoBabe · 20/02/2020 16:35

Tesco direct. They sold everything. Now you can't even buy school uniforms online.

I'm still mourning this one! Sad They were brilliant. Their furniture was good quality for the price range and usually made in the UK. I still have several pieces and get complimented on them all the time.

Toughmonkeys · 20/02/2020 16:38

Shops - Athena and the Pier
Perfume - Ibiza Hippy by Escada
Sweets - fruit poppets and these Mr Men chocolate bars from the early 80s

PrincessHoneysuckle · 20/02/2020 16:53

@PetitGateaux you can still get Sara Lee double choc gateux from Heron Foods,Fultons,Iceland etc

numberonecook · 20/02/2020 17:05

The brazil nut body scrub from body shop. The creamy one with the scrubby bits so harsh it scoured your skin off. I also miss the pens, bath pearls and money boxes.

Woolies pick and mix

fruit polos

There was a weird, perfumed, blue soft drink from morrisons which i dont know the name of but im sure i would recongise from the 90s. I can still taste it. Gone

Earslaps · 20/02/2020 17:06

Corn silk loose face powder- nothing else comes close.
