@JacquesHammer
I’m sorry for you loss. Might be better to protect your own health by avoiding threads you don’t like rather than trying to police other people.

Thanks. You're right, I'm having a crap evening and I'm hiding this thread now.

Could we be quite clear please that no one gets to 'press charges' in this country, alleged victim of assault or otherwise. Whether or not to prosecute is in the hands of the CPS or Crown Office. The victim is called as a witness.

This is so sad, poor woman and her poor family. The total twats that are Fathers for Justice have been completely vilifying her for the last few weeks, running a campaign with a poster of her saying 'this is what an abuser looks like' despite the fact that she hadn't even been to court yet, let alone found guilty of anything. They've now disabled the comments for all the posts, pathetic cowards.

It's high time some sort of law was brought In to stop people in the media/ social media being able to do this sort of stuff. Yes, she had her demons, but it's highly likely that the hate campaign against her from some helped push her over the edge. I just hope now she's finally at peace.

NoSauce · 15/02/2020 18:47

Wet sad, obviously a troubled soul.

gypsywater · 15/02/2020 18:47

@wouldyouadamandeveit hopefully this will be closely examined during her inquest

i am sorry she felt this was the only way-but if this was a man whoassaulted his partner there wouldnt be the same sympathy-coercive control was said as he quickly withdrew his statment but the cps still felt they had a case

rip

GabsAlot · 15/02/2020 18:49

cross post with bobby sems im not the only one

goldenorbspider · 15/02/2020 18:49

Never went to trail. Hopefully truth will all out with an inquest

gypsywater · 15/02/2020 18:49

Suicide is always sad. This isnt sad solely due to her gender ffs. I wonder if all these CF hating posters were those endlessly slagging her off on previous threads?

Casino218 · 15/02/2020 18:51

Very sad news but some people on this thread need to get a grip and stop using foul language.

TrixieTheWhore · 15/02/2020 18:51

It is a tragedy when a troubled person dies.

However I refuse to have more sympathy for a female perpetrator of domestic violence than I would for a man.

todayisnottuesday · 15/02/2020 18:53

Why is she different?

She hadn't even been taken to court, let alone found guilty. Her boyfriend stood by her and also denied she had assaulted him. We don't know if she was guilty as she never got to say her side of the story, now she never will.

SunshineCake · 15/02/2020 18:53

Just because she may have assaulted Someone doesn't mean she deserves to die, as some of you are insinuating.

gypsywater · 15/02/2020 18:54

@SunshineCake Indeed!

wouldyouadamandeveit · 15/02/2020 18:54

@gypsywater I bloody hope so. Regardless of the original reason for the allegation, how on Earth can anyone not acknowledge the hounding of the press?

TheWaveReturnsToTheOcean · 15/02/2020 18:54

Feel very sorry for her family and for Lewis.
If the reporting was correct she allegedly lamped him in his sleep - the call to police said ''She tried to kill me, mate'' and yet, he still wanted to be with her. Christ knows how he is feeling. He saw himself as a witness rather than a victim but sustaining a head injury from someone you love while you are sleeping - he was lucky it wasn't fatal.
Having commented previously on Kobe Bryant and Kirk Douglas threads, I do not think you should whitewash history for anyone but equally she was talented (I also loved Caroline Aherne whose equally troubled relationships were well documented).
For anyone doubting that talent here is her shining in her foxtrot:

Greenpop21 · 15/02/2020 18:55

It must be so much harder to be in the public eye with social media. You have to have Avery strong will to never read the crap that gets written. There’s no escape. Such a waste.

Alsohuman · 15/02/2020 18:55

Poor, poor woman. Our media has a lot to answer for.

todayisnottuesday · 15/02/2020 18:55

Bollocks, I'm not defending her because she is a woman, but because her crime was alleged and hadn't even been to court yet. We don't know if she was guilty or not.

GabsAlot · 15/02/2020 18:55

Not insinuating she deserved anything like that but if she wanted to tell her side then she should have in court-the cps didnt think it was nothing threre was blood all over her place

gypsywater · 15/02/2020 18:56

@wouldyouadamandeveit they're clearly the same posters who have long loathed CF

Choosername · 15/02/2020 18:56

And we wonder why Megan has run away from here. I didn’t really follow Caroline Flack but it seems she’s a victim of social media hounding. Horrible. May she rip.
