Well this is what happens when people are allowed to abuse others online. Disgusting.

edgewater · 15/02/2020 18:37

Awful waste of a young life. I think the tabloid media has such a lot to answer as well as social media and this forum along with other forms, Twitter etc.

Very sad if it’s true she has taken her own life.

DragonNight · 15/02/2020 18:37

I wasn't a fan but the poor woman. Celebrities seem to have such demons and their entire self belief seems tied to public adoration.

JellyNo15 · 15/02/2020 18:37

Really sad she has taken her own life. I am angry at how different the press coverage has been different because she was female though. I find her actions as abhorrent as I would have if it was a man who was violent but no man would have been subjected to the amount of press coverage as she was.

gypsywater · 15/02/2020 18:38

I cannot believe I just read that someone essentially thinks that if she had been male then her suicide would be applauded. WTAF.

JacquesHammer · 15/02/2020 18:38

I wonder how many gushing tributes there will be from journos who have slated her.

gypsywater · 15/02/2020 18:39

I also cannot believe that anyone can think she was not utterly vilified in the press, in a grossly disproportionate manner.

userxx · 15/02/2020 18:39

@gypsywater I know. Unbelievable.

So so sad

gypsywater · 15/02/2020 18:39

@JacquesHammer theyve already started...predictably.

DeRigueurMortis · 15/02/2020 18:41

Notalot yes I agree.

It's obviously sad but I see no reason to whitewash her history whilst neither being unsympathetic to her death.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 15/02/2020 18:41

I think there would have been calls of "Good riddance" if it were a man about to appear in court over beating the crap out of his female partner.

Im pretty sure she didn't "beat the crap" out of him.

JacquesHammer · 15/02/2020 18:42

85notout I’m sorry for you loss.

Might be better to protect your own health by avoiding threads you don’t like rather than trying to police other people.

lilgreen · 15/02/2020 18:42

What happened was she ill?

lilgreen · 15/02/2020 18:42

Oh was it suicide? Poor thing Flowers

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 15/02/2020 18:43

@GreyGardens88 is right though. She was slated the other week. It's funny how death makes you a Saint. It's a bit to late for people to feel sorry now.
The poor women has ended her own life and her family including her boyfriend will have been left destraught.
RIP Caroline. Flowers

thebestbe · 15/02/2020 18:43

There's currently a shitstorm against Ant McPartlin on Twitter for not getting the same treatment as Caroline. I feel like people will never learn because if Ant suddenly took his life, all of the people hating on him would start preaching mental health.

The media is an issue, but I think social media is a big part of the problem. People say things thoughtlessly behind a screen.

mynamesmrdiggety · 15/02/2020 18:44

It's shocking and upsetting. I really thought she would just pack it in and sell her house (I think it was up for sale) and move abroad to a beach somewhere where she could've relatively anonymous. Nothing is worth killing yourself but she obviously had alcohol issues at the least which will have clouded her judgement. What a bloody waste of a life.

pantsville · 15/02/2020 18:44

This is not the time or the place for all the “I’m too elite to know who she is/watch love island” shit. Nobody is impressed. Parents have just lost their daughter, at the end of a horrible downwards spiral. Utterly tragic. I obviously didn’t know her, but I am so saddened that this young woman’s life went this way. From watching her at the peak of her career on TV a few months ago, to this... it’s really quite disturbing.

JacquesHammer · 15/02/2020 18:44

It's funny how death makes you a Saint

Nobody has said that Hmm

What this is highlighting is the marked difference in treatment between men and women in the press.

Plus ca change.

FabulouslyElegantTits · 15/02/2020 18:44

Her solicitor has confirmed it was suicide. She must have felt the whole world was against her 😢

wouldyouadamandeveit · 15/02/2020 18:45

How the fuck in this day and age are the press not being held to account? I just don't get it. Everything is sensationalism, it's all based on inferred complete and utter bullshit and scaremongering. Why are these 'people' because they certainly aren't journalists being held to account????

Sparrowlegs248 · 15/02/2020 18:45

@gypsywater not applauded by me, but it would certainly happen.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 15/02/2020 18:45

Suicide has to be the worse way to lose someone. My heart goes out to everyone affected by this tragedy
