There is absolutely no similarity between Caroline flacks criminal case and Jeffrey Epstein’s criminal case @Hearhoovesthinkzebras which is why there is no point in using their suicides as a comparison.

Hearhoovesthinkzebras · 16/02/2020 14:34

Using a serial rapist and peadophile to make a comparison is ridiculous.
He hadn't been charged though so why wasn't he innocent until.proven guilty? Even if guilty, why not the sympathy that he felt driven to suicide?

I'm not defending him, far from it but I really don't get why CF alleged crimes should be airbrushed out just because she chose the ultimate way to avoid trial.

NoSharon · 16/02/2020 14:35

Never heard of Epstein and what he was accused of is far worse than Caroline.

ShatnersWig · 16/02/2020 14:35

We didn't get to hear Caroline's side. Have some respect

But we do know what he said in the 999 call and to the Police when they arrived.

MrsJemimaDuck · 16/02/2020 14:36

I am concerned about her ex BFs—including the other one who excused her of abuse—and Harry Styles, who I think got pulled into something over his head as a teenager, being new to fame, when he dated Caroline. I don’t care how mature he may have been for his age—at 17–I’ll just say if a celebrity crush showed interest in him, he probably didn’t know how to handle that, and may have felt responsible for the awful press CF received afterwards, which continued for the rest of her life. I feel sorry for anyone who ever knew her, for different reasons.

So even with what we know due to the court hearing, he must have done something to provoke her?

And you are taking others to task?

NoSharon · 16/02/2020 14:38

Also, Epstein, as far as I know, was accused of serious crimes and by multiple victims.
Caroline Flack was accused on one crime, by one victim.

Hearhoovesthinkzebras · 16/02/2020 14:39

Because she's dead.

So is Jeffrey Epstein. Are you sad for him too? Was it awful how the press conducted trial by media before he stood trial in court?

Why do women hate successful women?

I don't. I hate abusers

YgritteSnow · 16/02/2020 14:41

How on earth anyone can draw any kind of comparison between the offences of Epstein and that of Caroline Flack is beyond me.

NoSharon · 16/02/2020 14:41

She's dead now ffs! Why do you want to still find her guilty? What will it achieve for you personally?

NoSharon · 16/02/2020 14:43

She got the death sentence. Happy now?

TruffleShuffles · 16/02/2020 14:43

@Hearhoovesthinkzebras I’ve said repeatedly that Caroline’s crimes should not be airbrushed, that doesn’t mean that I can’t be sad that she felt her only option was to end her life.

Jeffrey Epstein was charged with much more serious crimes with multiple accusers. To compare the two crimes/suicides is ridiculous. There doesn’t even need to be comparisons. Life is not black and white, you can different feelings in different situations.

What I find most disconcerting is blaming the CPS. They were doing their job. I for one want to ensure they keep doing their job.

sendhelpppppp · 16/02/2020 14:44

nosharon no, she didnt. She chose that way out. I feel incredibly sorry for her that she felt that way.

Hearhoovesthinkzebras · 16/02/2020 14:44

We didn't get to hear Caroline's side

And whose fault is that? She could have gone to trial and fought to clear her name. She chose not to.

As for the "only hearing her side" we've just had the big #metoo movement and the #webelieveyou stance, meaning that victims should be believed, not doubted.

NoSharon · 16/02/2020 14:45

If my dd murdered someone, I genuinely would help her bury the body. (unless she was in the business of murdering people repeatedly).

Christ I've made some mistakes in my life. I'm still hanging in here though.

sendhelpppppp · 16/02/2020 14:46

Raise awareness that DV can and does happen to men and that the police and the court will take it seriously.

TruffleShuffles · 16/02/2020 14:46

Wow @Hearhoovesthinkzebras ‘she chose not to’. As if taking your own life is such a simple decision.

YourVagesty · 16/02/2020 14:47

Yy, and especially in abuse cases where the victim might resist prosecution. People need to understand that.

NoSharon · 16/02/2020 14:49

I'm glad you feel her death has accomplished something.

sendhelpppppp · 16/02/2020 14:50

I dont think it has accomplished anything but you asked what itd achieve and i told you.

ShatnersWig · 16/02/2020 14:52

That's all kinds of fucked up. Engaging further with you is futile

Doesn't her alleged victim deserve justice? I should imagine her death, under these circumstances, makes his life much much harder now. I'll reserve my sympathies for him.

How on earth anyone can draw any kind of comparison between the offences of Epstein and that of Caroline Flack is beyond me.

I'm not drawing similarities between their alleged crimes, at all. I'm not even drawing similarities between the reactions to their deaths (because I haven't seen any). I'm highlighting the differences in the reactions to their deaths and alleged guilt or innocence. It seems CF should now be exonerated of any accusations and all sympathy shown to her because she is dead. In other instances, even when guilt hasn't be proved, people don't try to forget the accusations.

TruffleShuffles · 16/02/2020 14:54

Can you give me some examples of all the people exonerating her @Hearhoovesthinkzebras as all I’ve seen is people expressing sympathy for a lost life.

NoSharon · 16/02/2020 14:54

He didn't want to proceed with his complaint.
