What have I just read? If they've both been drinking and one partner flirts with someone else at a party is it ok if the other partner assaults them? Did someone really just ask that question?

Russellbrandshair · 16/02/2020 12:47

It's nastiness and jealousy of a very attractive, successful woman. Pure ugly jealousy. Women really can be the worst

What a horribly mysogynistic thing to say. I’d never be jealous of a woman clearly struggling with mental health issues as she was. She was clearly deeply unhappy inside. But of course, stating truthful facts about domestic violence instantly =jealousy. Good grief, I’ve heard everything now.

FrippEnos · 16/02/2020 12:49

WatcherintheRye

In this "hypothetical" scenario.
He was asleep when she hit him over the head with a lamp due to her reading texts on his phone.

But even in your scenario, violence is not acceptable, IMO it is never acceptable.

The police gave evidence in the magistrate’s court that the police controller could hear CF shouting threatening messages down the phone when her bf called 999, and that she attacked the police when they arrived.

They certainly seemed to believe her boyfriend’s original version of events, it seemed to stack up.

She was clearly very troubled and I am so sorry she took her own life, but the facts here as stated in a court of law do suggest she’d put another person’s life in danger.

ShatnersWig · 16/02/2020 13:04

The amount of women on Twitter stating that the CPS are appalling for continuing the case because the boyfriend didn't want to press charges actually disgusts me. Because you know full well that if it had been her making that phone call about him trying to kill her, and him screaming abuse during the call, and him attacking the police, and her weeks later not wanting to press charges and the CPS ignoring her request, NOT ONE PERSON would be attacking the CPS for pressing ahead

cushioncovers · 16/02/2020 13:05

Not heard of her until yesterday. Why we're the police still pressing charges? Who phoned 999 on the night of the assault?

CanIHaveATiaraPlease · 16/02/2020 13:06

Yes quite Shatner it actually concerns me that people are critical of the CPS in this instance.

cushioncovers · 16/02/2020 13:07

Ah I see it was her boyfriend that phoned the police.

JacquesHammer · 16/02/2020 13:07

Aren’t you disgusted by the men doing the same?

YgritteSnow · 16/02/2020 13:08

she was scared to be accountable for her actions so she escaped them

She's DEAD. How is this an "escape" of any kind?

DivinationDandy · 16/02/2020 13:08

I after Shatners. I haven’t looked at twitter but I’m shocked by responses here onN, and by CF’s managed making a statement blaming the CPS.

NoSauce · 16/02/2020 13:08

Are people really that thick?

Wilmalovescake · 16/02/2020 13:09

Why can’t both be true?

Why can’t we say, “Yep she was a beautiful young woman with a world of opportunity who was clearly messed up and who clearly made some bad decisions and who was about to face the wrath of the law for them. She was also on the receiving end of hundreds of horrible Tweets and spiteful headlines, the combination of which sent her into such a dark place that she took her own life, and someone, anyone reaching that point is a tragedy.”

Why can’t the truth be all of that? Why must we venerate or demonise people so?

DivinationDandy · 16/02/2020 13:10

Sorry lots of typos there.

I think it’s very wrong that her management made a statement criticising the CPS.

sendhelpppppp · 16/02/2020 13:13

wilma the truth is all of that. The issue is people are minimising and in some cases completely denying the dv. Its the whole "dont speak ill of the dead" isnt it but i find it a bit disingenuous to only mention the "beautiful soul killed by the media" and nothing else.

@YgritteSnow

I dont view it much differently to a man who kills his partner and/or kids and then tops himself.

NoSharon · 16/02/2020 13:15

Wilma - if only. She'd be alive.

NoSharon · 16/02/2020 13:18

I see it as a woman who was charged with a violent crime. Instead of just facing a court case, she had trial by media and trial by nasty ne'er do wells. Yes she fucked up. But she's dead now. Good work.

ShatnersWig · 16/02/2020 13:18

Jacques Yes but I've seen very few men doing it. It's 90% women.

AuntieCedent · 16/02/2020 13:19

@Hearhoovesthinkzebras

I've heard female abuse excuses in so many ways. If your man is a bastard in any way, it is usually okay to express your hurt and frustration physically if you are female. As long as you cry when you do it.

NoSharon · 16/02/2020 13:19

And for goodness sake, she's dead now.

ClappyFlappy · 16/02/2020 13:20

You don’t think there’s a difference between murder and suicide? Why not?

JacquesHammer · 16/02/2020 13:20

Funny. Quick twitter search suggests a pretty even split.

GabsAlot · 16/02/2020 13:21

He was asleep when it happend it wasnt a row that got out of hand she also resisted arrest and tried to attack police

her previous fiance posted he wasnt sur-prised when she was arrested but couldnt say anymore because of an nda

yes its sad she thought this was her only way out but she wasnt a victim
