How do you like your steak?

Having steak for tea. DH is having his steak well done, but I hate mine where it's so done that it becomes tough and chewy! Envy

How do you like yours?

Medium to well done. Everyone else I know eats if medium rare.

Fred578 · 14/02/2020 20:12

Medium rare

ellenanora5 · 14/02/2020 20:12

Medium, with a baked potato, garlic butter and loads of mushrooms

Gorgeous

Greywind1523 · 14/02/2020 20:13

Medium rare or rare depending on the cut.

ThePolishWombat · 14/02/2020 20:13

If a good vet could resuscitate it, then it’s cooked enough for me Grin
Although I will eat it medium rare if that’s what’s put on my plate!

NSFW · 14/02/2020 20:14

Dependa on the cut but rare or blue for me and the kids, DP has medium rare.

BobLobLawLLB · 14/02/2020 20:15

Still running around a field. Anyone who eats meat is a lower than dog shite. There is no humane slaughter. They dont want to die.

CaptainPovey · 14/02/2020 20:17

Blue

Aibuto · 14/02/2020 20:17

Medium rare

iklboo · 14/02/2020 20:17

Rare, DH has his blue.

loutypips · 14/02/2020 20:22

Now I fancy a steak 🥩

ineedaholidaynow · 14/02/2020 20:25

Would normally have steak for Valentine's meal but DH is poorly so will have to wait until he is better and can appreciate it more

mindutopia · 14/02/2020 20:26

Medium rare, unless it’s a cut like a bavette that needs to be rare. People ordering steak well done (my parents!!) is like fingernails down a chalk board to me. What’s the point of a steak if it has the texture of the a car tyre?

dancebabydance · 14/02/2020 20:29

Rare or blue depending on where I am and what cut of steak it is.

And a slice of bread/chips to soak up the juices!!

mineofuselessinformation · 14/02/2020 20:41

Seared on the outside and bloody inside.

LER83 · 14/02/2020 20:51

Rare, with peppercorn and blue cheese sauce, and wedges. Just had one cooked to perfection!

stoplickingthetelly · 14/02/2020 20:56

I used to always have it well done, then dh convinced to have it medium. I have it rare now. I had no idea what I’d been missing out on.

Mum2jenny · 14/02/2020 21:00

Rare, or medium rare depending on the cut. Fillet always rare, rump just cooked a little more.

FagAsh · 14/02/2020 21:05

Bleu
Fillet only
Peppercorn sauce mandatory
With creamed spinach and chips
Mayonnaise vital.

JontyDoggle37 · 14/02/2020 21:07

@AgeLikeWine I’ve found my people! 😁👍 in a restaurant I always order mine ‘ with a faint hint of moo’ 😂. Literally just had a fillet steak (cooked at home) seared on all sides then left to rest, probably in the pan total of 2 minutes to sear on top, bottom and sides.

dustibooks · 14/02/2020 21:16

Medium/well. As in cooked just enough for there to still be a pinkish line in the middle, but it's got a hint of crispiness round the edges.

Used to like it more rare than that, but after having been served one that could have got up off the plate and gone back out to the field, it put me off a bit.

luckylavender · 14/02/2020 21:26

I knew how this would go & how smug the comments would be

soupmaker · 14/02/2020 21:30

The rare side of medium rare for the ribeye steak we had tonight. Kids like it pink in the middle too. Kids had chips and on corn on cob. Me and DH had asparagus and Greek salad. Was absolutely delicious. Fillet I always have rare.

Fi1982 · 14/02/2020 21:40

Ribeye should be slightly closer to medium to melt the fat a bit. Rare ribeye leaves you with nasty raw fat.

And every cut should be drowning in béarnaise 🤤

M0reGinPlease · 14/02/2020 21:41

Still mooing
