Inspired by other thread with hardly any detail.

I’m American. Was in Rome at an Irish pub with karaoke. An 80s pop song came on and all the British and Scottish people I was with knew every word. It was upbeat and I loved it. But I’d never heard it before. We are all the same age so I know all of the English music that was popular in the US in the 80s.

I’ll listen to anything you suggest here and see if that’s it.

Just listened to the Waterboys. So good! I only vaguely remember that one but glad to be reminded of it.

I remembered something! When I asked who it was they told me a woman’s name.

Just realised the SINGER was a woman's name, not the song title. What a moron.

This is very vague, OP. The 80s are a whole decade full of British female singers. What do you expect from us? Name every single song from that decade sung by a British female? This thread will be very long then.

Hazell Dean - Grin

Just listened to Murder on the Dancefloor. It was not that but the crisp clear voice of Sophie Ellis Bextor sounded similar. Could be another song by her. Does she have older songs? Or it was someone with a similar sounding voice.

This was in 2016 that I heard it, but I still think the song itself was pretty old.

Are u 100% it's a female singer.
Thinking of voices that are sort of crisp and clear.
Not Pet Shop Boys?

thesunwillout · 19/01/2020 07:58
