Which Star Trek ship would you like to serve on?

I love Star Trek and am looking forward to the new series Star Trek Picard on Amazon next week.

I’ve been thinking about which ship I would like to serve on. Tbh it is easy, Voyager!

I’m sure I’m not the only Trek fan (I’m not a Trekkie) here. Let’s see which is the most popular vessel.

Any bloody Cardassians out there can bugger off now.

dh admits he had a yen for seven of nine -

YourOpinionIsNoted · 21/01/2020 17:36

Who doesn't? And I'm entirely straight. Seven was a goddess.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 21/01/2020 20:01

Seven was a bore. B'lanna all the way.

KatherineJaneway I'm horribly jealous, but would probably have fainted, or kissed him and then run away.

KatherineJaneway · 22/01/2020 15:21

@PhilomenaChristmasPie

He was very sweet but I had no idea that I was going to ask him until I did Blush I have the Voyager video cover he signed for me framed on my wall.

Awe man, I've just watched the Picard trailer. Jeez, it looks amazing. I'm incredibly excited for Friday.

Question - do I watch with the kids or make them finish TNG, Voyager and DS9 first? Wink

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 22/01/2020 16:57

They overlap

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 22/01/2020 16:58

oops sorry.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 22/01/2020 17:13

TNG, Voyager and DS9 share roughly the same time period with TNG coming first, Voyager and DS9 overlap in years.

Awrite · 22/01/2020 18:25

After a gap of about a year, dd and I are watching DS9 tonight. We're on season 3, episode 23. Ah, feels good to be back. The opening music brought a happy smile to my face. Smile

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 22/01/2020 18:38

@Awrite. Have you watched "Civil Defence" yet. That is my fav ep. Gul Dukat is so deliciously smug until he gets back stabbed.

Awrite · 22/01/2020 18:43

Yes and wasn't he just? Bloody love Gul Dukot.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 22/01/2020 18:45

I want to have "Attention, Bajoran workers" for my message notifications.

I have such a crush on Gul Dukat.

DaveMinion · 22/01/2020 20:00

Def voyager. I love Janeway.

winterisstillcoming · 22/01/2020 20:59

Hello my people!. The enterprise for me. I really hope Picard doesn't disappoint.

banivani · 23/01/2020 09:41

Very much looking forward to Picard, I hope it's good (but I haven't got much of that, hope that is). I don't have Amazon Prime though so I'll have to wait for access.

It's very funny how actors are reused, I am a little ticked off that they didn't use the Tom Paris connection to the Wesley episode better. If Tom Paris had been given the name of the youngster in the Wesley episode then there'd be a connecting storyline right there free and gratis. Possibly the amiral father wouldn't have worked though.

I too think they lost all control of themselves with Dukat last season. In general I think they lost a lot of "trekkiness" there. I think the idealistic future should be respected, ie the vast majority of (humans) have to have enlightened views, not just the odd captain who gets to lecture others. It's not bloody Star Wars.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 23/01/2020 09:58

the amiral father wouldn't have worked though.

The thing about that is they did nothing with it, if I remember they didn't even have any dialogue in the last episode.
It was one of the many story arcs that were set up but then scrapped.

CatInTheDaytime · 23/01/2020 10:07

I'm late to this but I'm with you OP, Voyager! Capt Jane Safeway is my girl crush. Also loved 7 of 9, the Borg plots and Chakotay, and the Voyager premise.

I hated DS9 and Next Gen, apart from Picard and Data. So my second choice would be the original Enterprise with Spock and Kirk etc.

Waterandlemonjuice · 23/01/2020 10:14

Whilst I’m a complete Janeway fangirl I’d would like to serve under these two, literally, swoon.

And how cool is this marketing?

Which Star Trek ship would you like to serve on?
Waterandlemonjuice · 23/01/2020 10:16

And I agree that Janeway and Chakotay should have got together but only after he wasn’t reporting to her.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 23/01/2020 10:26

Love Picardilly Circus!

if I remember they didn't even have any dialogue in the last episode

The end of Voyager did seem rushed. Probably got told it wasn't getting another series so had to get them home asap, hence the daft 7 and Chakotay relationship out of nowhere. Tom was a little busy in the final episode though. Talking to his dad wouldn't have been a priority Grin

KatherineJaneway · 23/01/2020 11:11

Last episode of Voyager was disappointing, it felt so rushed and so many loose ends left.

Love the Piccadilly layout. Must go and see it.

Friday I have to be in the office but will finish at 4pm and then race home to watch Picard and then I'll watch the episode again as I am sure I'll miss a lot.

banivani · 23/01/2020 12:11

It was one of the many story arcs that were set up but then scrapped.

Yes, how hard can it be to remember the plot lines and follow up? The characters become better and more rounded if their previous experiences are properly allowed make a difference in their personalities. See also: Worf and Alexander.

TheFaerieQueene · 23/01/2020 12:33

Did you see the clip of Patrick Stewart on the View offer Whoopi Goldberg a chance to play Guinan on the next series of Picard? She was totally shocked and delighted. It was a lovely moment.
