he’s a bright energetic type of guy who will need some purpose

This, from a PP, about prince Harry.

Bright???? He inherited all of his mother’s brains.

Dowser · 12/01/2020 11:32

I don’t think Harry is the sharpest tool in the box although I’m sure he’s a nice enough lad.
I’m pretty sure Meghan will be the one driving the bus

Meghan seems to have some svengali-like control over Harry.

He is desperate to keep this marriage together. She, not so much.

He's completely lost control. He will do anything. So many people had doubts about her sincerity of the marriage, thinking he might be being used for her gains. The developments prove it.

Harry meanwhile is desperate to prove everyone wrong as he took such a risk marrying so quickly to someone who clearly (to so many others) wasn't going to be happy with her lot so will bend over backwards for her - witness his embarrassing touting for business with Disney while working as a representative of the queen.

From someone that was dutiful and knew his position and was in favour of the institution of monarchy, she's whispered in his ear so much he thinks himself a victim of it all now. It's some form of Stockholm Syndrome. Rather than think they were getting the tone wrong with a lot of the public, and the criticism was stemming from that, no, we were all racist. They basically didn't like the criticism. They wanted to be loved for everything they did - Harry wanted to follow in his mother's footsteps and be loved by the public. Problem is her style (which became his) wasn't going to work in the UK market, we're different to Americans, a lot more cynical and sarcastic. Harry, out of touch as ever, couldn't guide her about that. He lost his balls.

Not so long ago Harry told Meghan to look forward on the balcony and to stop turning around and talking at some event. He knew the role and knew the disrespect this would cause.

In such a short time he's now holding a loaded gun to his family to get what he and Meghan wants? He's unstable. The RF are in such a terrible position - either way I think they lose Harry. H&M's behaviour is disgraceful. It shows what a phoney she is - a feminist, my arse. If she was she'd relinquish all titles and become Meghan Markle and trade off that, but that won't make as much money. The woman and her man are prepared to sell themselves for money. No class.

People have been saying take their title away from them - they can simply be Prince Harry & Princess Harry. She would love that.

Americans know what Princesses are. Duchesses not so much. That wouldn't be a demotion in Americans' eyes. I doubt most British people know how the royal family titles work either - I didn't, and still don't to an extent. HRH just sounds like extra flamboyant bollocks so it doesn't matter if it stays or goes for their purposes in the US (although Harry would mind).

A lot of Americans are taken in by royalty titles. Some give their children high-faluting names that you don't hear over here - Majesty, Reign, Sir, Prince, King, Princess (yes, I know, Katie Price). Titles are currency over there and Meghan knows it.

In some ways I'm glad this has happened as it is another nail in the coffin of royalty. They need winding down.

ohdearmymistake · 12/01/2020 12:18

That was truly cringe worthy and highly embarrassing, Harry cornering the Disney man like that, guess that's how things will be once their free to sell themselves to the highest bidder.

Harry will be completely blind sided when the divorce comes, I hope he doesn't burn too many bridges. He will find himself alone in California with no real friends.

Dowser · 12/01/2020 12:20

I’ve Just watched The video clip of Harry touting his wife to the Disney executive.
It was toe curlingLy embarrassing .
Is this really what he wants his life to be like?
More so embarrassing as he said in such a earnest way, rather than a more flippant jokey way.

He’s really not cut out for that kind of malarkey and he should be ashamed of his cack handed Hustle.

OP posts:
Dowser · 12/01/2020 12:25

Thing is, by stepping down as senior royals , theyve devalued their coin.
Shot themselves right in the foot.
They were valuable because of who they were not what they were.
Now, not so
Does he really want to keep popping up all over North America like Paul Burrell

OP posts:
annielouise · 12/01/2020 12:27

The Disney executive's wife's face says it all - at one point she moves her eyes from her husband to Harry without blinking so she doesn't miss anything.

This video was sat on by the press. There are probably loads of others on the other members of the RF, if not H&M. There's a mutual favour situation going on between the press and H&M and the rest of them. If H&M think the press have treated them unfairly now it clearly really has the potential to get much worse.

diddl · 12/01/2020 12:29

That video is so funny. The guy glancing across at MM, then trying to move awayGrin

LordOfTheWhys · 12/01/2020 12:32

I think that's exactly what the RF is worried about Dowser. Interviews and exclusive glimpses of items that belonged to Diana/the Queen, etc. The inside story on the time William got drunk / Kate cried, etc, etc.
H&M will have to decide if they're 'serious' speakers and philanthropists (like the Clintons and Obamas) or are tawdry sellers of secrets like Burrell. The first interview will probably show which it's going to be.

It's come as a surprise to me that there's someone on MN who actually knows them personally as a couple...Hmm

Your whole post is just an opinion not fact.....

LordOfTheWhys · 12/01/2020 12:36

MN is full of opinion. It would be pretty empty otherwise Grin

annielouise · 12/01/2020 12:41

Rousette, you don't have to be a genius to work it out, really.

LordOfTheWhys · 12/01/2020 12:42

You're not 'working it out' annie you're guessing. Which is fine. MN is full of guesses and opinions but don't be silly and dig in as though you know facts.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 12/01/2020 12:44

I think the problems run much much deeper.

Diana had to battle to stop the QM favouring William over Harry as a child.
Charles felt it was fine to openly have a mistress during his marriage.
Harry’s mother died when he was young and he had to publicly walk behind her coffin.
There are pretty strong rumours that Harry has been thrown under the bus at times to cover for William’s indiscretions.
When he finally finds a partner he wants to marry his own brother appears to be questioning his choice (probably starting an us against the world mindset).
Then the British Press wade in with their vile Compton comments etc.

I’m surprised Harry hasn’t cracked long before and run away as fast as he could.

peridito · 12/01/2020 12:48

Ah ,so it's being reported that this wasn't after all a bombshell for The Queen or Prince Charles .

Harry wasn’t allowed to see the Queen so that he didn’t bulldoze her ok ..I wonder which individual has the most experience and support when it comes to negotiations .

As for celebrities having to make appointments - yes I understand that ,but is it the same ? Surely only non celebs have to go through third parties and although I take the point that HRM is the boss of the firm ,she is his grandmother .And I don't read posters saying H was rude to the boss .

Roussette · 12/01/2020 12:54

annielouise

In your opinion. It is not fact. I don't know them and can't state that my view on their relationship is 100% what it is. You could be very wrong, who knows.

Personally, I'm a bit live and let live... that poor little boy who walked behind his mother's coffin with the eyes of the world on him, has fallen in love and deserves happiness whichever way, shape and form that takes.

annielouise · 12/01/2020 12:54

Haha, the people denying what is staring them in the face. That's fine. Put your head in the sand.

beanaseireann · 12/01/2020 12:58

Harry and Megan have the cachet and prestige, now they want the filthy lucre to go with it.
Good luck to them - it wouldn't be my way.

WineOrGinOrBoth · 12/01/2020 12:59

I worked for the family firm. I need to make appointments with my boss (my dad) & my colleagues (siblings) at times. It’s work. Obviously I didn’t need to make appointments at home. It’s different & unless you have worked for a family firm you won’t get it.

WineOrGinOrBoth · 12/01/2020 13:00

I’ve also said but not sure on which thread that there are so many red flags here. IMO.

Mummy195 · 12/01/2020 13:04

Haha, Harry making small talk that will be relevant to Bob Igor twisted as him trying to get MM a job ? Half the audio is not heard. Seriously, this was only covered by the DM group for their hapless readers to grab another straw. What amazes me is that anyone fell for it.

Seriously, I hope you guys warmed up before that reach.

Happysummer2020 · 12/01/2020 13:07

And yet within 2 months she had in fact done a voiceover for Disney........

Roussette · 12/01/2020 13:07

Put your head in the sand

Ummmm like it's life changing for me and me doing that will affect Harry & meghan deeply..... hahahaha

Mummy195 · 12/01/2020 13:10

I just watched the DM group's version of what Tom Bradby said, and I had actually watched it all in the news, talk about DM's massive editing.

They left out the part where he says Harry had been in long discussions, and was asked to put it all in writing and he said he is afraid of leaks, would rather write when everything is property finalised and details finalised. In the end he finally gave up and wrote it down, lo and behold it leaked (seriously, they've only been here 2 days and the courtiers leaked). Even the sun editor confirmed via phone call on TV that he got the leak on Tuesday evening. So H&M had to release the statement.

peridito · 12/01/2020 13:13

@LordOfTheWhys Sun 12-Jan-20 10:37:17
peridito I'm not sure what you think you're arguing. They do have stability. We haven't overthrown the monarchy yet hmm and they do have deference - from their staff, from their charities, from everyone they see in public who is told how to address them, whether to bow, from the many people at the top of their fields (from scientists to writers to politicians) who pretend they're interested in the thoughts of the royals about their fields despite the RF's lack of specialism, etc, etc.
They don't need to read the press or watch the media about themselves. They have staff for that

I see what you mean ,I guess I don't rate their family on a personal level as very stable ,what with the divorces and the dodgy uncle or on a business footing ,what with talk of it being slimmed down .

And the deference wouldn't suit me not being based on merit but accident of birth .
