Frankly I don't want to see MM at any royal ceremonies again. She has shown zero respect for the institution so it would seem absurd for her to be at anything honouring it eg Trooping of the Colour.

I think that H&M have behaved appallingly.

I can’t imagine doing anything that I knew would upset my 70 year old Dad and even older grandparents this much (or at all).

Why would you? PP is so frail these days, he isn’t going to go on for much longer. HMQ is old enough, they both deserve respect. Why the heck would you want to cause anyone this level of grief.

I don’t think M had any idea of what she was getting herself into, the hierarchy and protocol isn’t something that she would ‘get’ but there is no need to have gone about it as they have done.

And I am not remotely a royalist!

The indignation on this thread is very funny to read. Throughout their wedding and Meghan's pregnancy, they were heavily criticised and berated for just about every thing from the way she touched her hair and her bump and every piece of clothing she wore was pulled apart. Harry wanted out of the RF for years before Meghan ever appeared and Meghan supported him in getting out of it. The critics were adamant they would never give up their status yet wanted them exiled to Africa. They took matters into their own hands and decided to do their own thing. Outrage followed as people bitterly hoped Granny would step in and take all their privileges away. That hasn't happened to their dismay.

It doesn't matter what they did and do, they will do what they like as they have always done and I am referring to the RF not just Meghan and Harry.

PattiPrince you are right, where was W statement when H was asking the media to leave his girlfriend alone with racist reporting. Where was the statement when H&M expressed their unhappiness - W leads a mental wellness charity and is preaching for people to be open, yet shows no support for his own brother.

Which part is not clear that :

  • this whole thing was leaked, so H&M had to release a statement (so if you blame anyone, blame the courtiers or the 'senior insider' who told the press)
  • 'internal discussions' mean TQ and PC. Who else could it be the chef?
  • Harry supposedly pitching through an inaudible video means the DM group were sitting on this video for months and should have realised it back when MM signed the Disney deal with the headline " Harry seen pitching for one of royal charities". appropriately, this was an African animals movie supporting the wildlife charity and the subsequent funds went to the elephant trust. The DM is not above muting the part, if there is where H talks about the relevance of them heading the charity associated with the Disney movie anyway. Because let's face it, that was a short time for MM to have signed this contract if this was the pitch in the summer, meaning a memo about how Disney is channeling funds through this voiceover, among other things would have been already floating about. I really do not thing this video had anything to with their future exit strategy, just about them putting in their 2cents on the project.

This is a really missed opportunity for the RF and BM. They had a chance to show the world that despite Brexit, we are not some racist, xenophobic, mysgonistic country and they should not have been so heavy handed in their criticism. Truth is the media have nothing on H&M, they know it, H&M know it.

H & M do not need the media, because they never report anything good on them anyway. So good on them for getting out of the media rota, because all it does is allow the DM group to print it's vitriol and it becomes a wave as others have to rely on whoever was there, and follow suit as they never saw what happened and cannot form a different point of view.

William has also appeared to be petulant and spoiled imo. His only interest is in protecting his own reputation and the royal press are doing their utmost to brush anything negative under the carpet. The future monarchy looks bleak when a weak minded, arrogant man like William is its future. I wouldn't be surprised if an announcement for baby no. four is made sooner than later to deflect the negative attention on the royal family.

I am still at a loss though about a few things not addressed by anyone on this thread.

H&M will be practically minor royals for a while atleast. They are not talking about leaving the RF just yet. So that means they will be like Harry's cousins then.

  • People say they must stripped of HRH. Aren't some of H cousins like Beatrice etc. HRH?
  • One of them lives in Ivy Cottage, KP. So why should H&M be removed from Frogmore?
  • Frogmore does not belong to H&M, it was earmarked for renovations, so they chose that. So why should they pay 2.5M. That's like your landlord telling you to pay all the costs of his renovations. I would argue that they paid their rent with the charity works, etc, they were doing just like K&W and others.
  • Do the cousins get security? So should H&M then.

Yes, maybe silly questions to some ,but I'm sure lots of people would like to know if you have the answers.

I think she's very impressive. She's articulate, she's made a fortune for herself... She's an entrepreneur. Good on her.

Patti... I like Kate too but watching the itv program.. She's just got that '' loose '' Grin American gene... Kate is so eyebrow high... Voice... Speaking... Constricted... Middle class.. In contrast Megan seems v natural and I surprise myself saying that... Because she seemed contrived... And now I've seen the interview... She's got lots going for her.... Well done Harry!! He's got a very dynamic woman there.

The vast majority of articles about Meghan have been she 'stuns in a blue gown'.....she and Harry 'are triumphant in their Africa tour'..... she's 'impactful in her speech'

I mean..... take the good with the bad. The vast majority of press has been fawning and complimentary.

Actually I think you have something there. She was confident, excellent at public speaking and seemed to put herself front and centre. That didnt land well with a lot of people who were expecting more humility and shyness.... you know, how Kate did it !

Puttingoutthe I didn't think Meghan seemed contrived at all tbh. Self aware and camera aware for certain. I fail to see how that became a stick to beat her with but the media and public seized every opportunity. It was very sad to watch. Contrived is a term I'd use for Kate's accent. Ludicrous is another way I'd describe it. The memory of watching her bumping the big silver cross pram up a stony path while dressed as a character from Upstairs Downstairs never fails to make me smile.

The media now has been trying to push this idea on us that they liked Meghan at the beginning. While a lot of people did not follow her story while they were dating, we are all aware that they printed so much shite, Harry had to put out a statement for them to leave her alone with their racist reporting. We are vaguely aware of stories of gang-related, Doria's dreadlocks etc.
It was only during the engagement announcement and wedding that they were positive. And that is only because the world media had the spotlight on the UK. It most certainly would have raised eyebrows if they were as vicious as they have been since.

Soon as the wedding was over, and the international media turned their backs, they started with the musty church stories, making Kate cry, whatever MM wants story that was actually proven to be fabricated, etc.It was downhill from there.

They hardly report on her tangible charities, and have been basically cutting and manipulating everything they report on her.

What I remember about Kate is that when I first heard her talk, she sounded exactly like Diana, very posh.
Next time I heard her, her accent had vastly changed and was not so posh.

After 8yrs 'in training' and 9 in marriage, she still seems to be stuck in yr1. She is still nervously reading from cue cards all at the time. I remember their Asia tour, she kept on looking over at Wills for reassurance - while he could not seem more uninterested.

But at least MM has made her pull up her socks a bit, now the game is upped. I saw her using jazz hands talking animatedly and showing some interest at the NATO meetings.

If everyone should be up in arms about disrespect to TQ it's to these lazy buggers.

And Eugenie has to pay full market rent for that, as is the case with other royals who are not full-time working members of the RF. The Sussexes seem to think that they are entitled to keep Frogmore on the same rent-free basis as before.
