I've picked holes in everything you've posted and you're clearly sore

Sore? Don't be daft! I've better things to think about TBH. I don't agree with you, that's all. I think you find that difficult to accept.

But whatevs...

mindproject · 13/01/2020 16:38

I think they are doing the right thing. If Prince Andrew was in my family I would put an ocean between my kids and him too.

annielouise · 13/01/2020 16:59

"whatevs" - how old are you?! Hahahahaha!

Roussette · 13/01/2020 17:02

I'm very pleased to have brought some humour and fun into your life Grin

halcyondays · 13/01/2020 17:10

I very much doubt this has anything to do with Prince Andrew. The plans were set in motion months ago before the Panorama interview. And anyway people knew about him long before that, years even. They spent last Xmas with the queen I think when he would have been there.

Now he’s been taken off royal duties they’re not likely to see much of him, it’s thought he won’t even attend Trooping the Colour.

Hearhoovesthinkzebras · 13/01/2020 17:16

My gut feeling here is that Meghan doesn't like having to play 2nd fiddle to William and Kate at official functions. I get the feeling that she wants the attention to be on her and, for example, having to stand behind W and K on the balcony at state occasions or being on a different balcony at the remembrance Day parade (the Queen, Camilla and Kate were on one balcony, Meghan on another) has put her back up.

Harry stepping down as a senior royal ..PART TWO
TrixieFranklin · 13/01/2020 17:27

Today my family had very constructive discussions on the future of my grandson and his family.
'My family and I are entirely supportive of Harry and Meghan's desire to create a new life as a young family. Although we would have preferred them to remain full-time working members of the Royal Family, we respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life as a family while remaining a valued part of my family.
'Harry and Meghan have made clear that they do not want to be reliant on public funds in their new lives.
'It has therefore been agreed that there will be a period of transition in which the Sussexes will spend time in Canada and the UK.
'These are complex matters for my family to resolve, and there is some more work to be done, but I have asked for final decisions to be reached in the coming days.'

SF1269 · 13/01/2020 17:45

So they are gone ! Very informal to address them as Harry and Meghan, wonder does that mean they have had to relinquish their titles. Must be heartbreaking for all of them. I really thought they would have been able to bring a breath of fresh air into the RF, such a shame they felt they had no other choice.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 13/01/2020 17:50

Sounds like Prince Charles gave them millions and funded Frogmore.
Quite frankly, good riddance.
I think they are arrogant and grabby.
They’ll be novel and fawned upon in the US, but they’ll have their critics.
Well if it all goes t*ts up for them; they’ll only have themselves to blame

LordOfTheWhys · 13/01/2020 17:54

Does anyone else think that's a poorly-written statement? All the references to family (understandable from an NLP pov) make it sound like some Mafiosa announcement Grin

augustusglupe · 13/01/2020 17:58

CurlyWurlyTwirly Totally agree. What a couple of selfish twits and I hope their titles disappear along with them.

ChicCroissant · 13/01/2020 18:02

Yes, Prince Charles seems to have gone over and above in an attempt to make them happy. When is he going to see his grandchild now?

No matter how many millions they earn, I doubt Harry and Meghan will ever be happy unfortunately. I hope whatever the palace comes up with, it's a one-way street with no way back. Harry will be the new Paul Burrell for interviews!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 13/01/2020 18:19

The Queen is both boss and granny. The boss might be able to get tough with them, but granny will of course want to find a solution that doesn't alienate her grandson and his family.

I think the statement sounds very conciliatory, but the devil will be in the detail, and that we may never hear.

Iamthewombat · 13/01/2020 18:21

Yeah, where is Paul Burrell in all of this? Surely he knows more than anybody else. He is wasted, advising us on how the queen prefers the cake forks to be polished.

Iamthewombat · 13/01/2020 18:22

Sounds like Prince Charles gave them millions and funded Frogmore.

Well, he might have given them millions but let’s be very clear: we paid for their bloody cottage.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 13/01/2020 18:46

No doubt about the £2.4million paid for by us.
But I reckon Charles paid for interior design fit out.

Rhubarbisevil · 13/01/2020 19:11

Paul Burrell was on GMB this morning telling off Piers Morgan for being a bullying, misogynistic, racist c^#t. I almost applauded him.

HotChoc10 · 13/01/2020 19:20

Plus he’s on a flying visit to Oman today to offer condolences for the ruler who passed away.
He has to be back tomorrow for ‘ the talks’
PC showing how is should be done.

Not very environmental of Prince Charles!

Dowser · 13/01/2020 19:23

So they are to split their time between the uk and wherever they hang their hat. Canada ...is that ? until Trump rides off into the sunset?

I’d love to tell them ..please don’t bother. Here’s your P45 , bye bye.

Harry has been played like a kipper. Now he has to choose...wife and child or his first family?
What an abomination. I almost feel sorry for Harry..except he’s not a child..he’s a grown man

As for Meghan not wanting to live anymore in the uk..fine ..don’t slam the door on you way out.
So they think they are going to do a few royal duties..hmmm..call me cynical.
I wouldn’t cross the road to see them.
How will she feel if she turns up and is booed ..or there’s just stunned silence?

If she thinks she hasn’t been treated well by the RF..does she think they will be bending over backwards to make her welcome now.

They might want to play along to this charade..but we aren’t stupid..and we won’t.

And don’t even get me started on not bringing the grandson / great grandson to see their grandad and great granny...that. As a grandmother just gives me the 😡😡😡

Wow Dowser your life will be exactly the same as it was when they were still working royals. You never had any say in how they lived their lives. The royals always did as they chose. Nothing has changed.

Dowser · 13/01/2020 19:34

Yes, still paying for people who don’t give a stuff about us.
As you quite rightly say.
Nothing changed.
Nothing to see here.
Move on.

OP posts:
shartsi · 13/01/2020 19:39

OP calm down. I get that you wanted them to be humiliated but thankfully the Queen is not vindictive.

PattiPrice · 13/01/2020 20:08

Yes, still paying for people who don’t give a stuff about us.

And never did and never will even though the royalists appear to think otherwise.

Inkanta · 13/01/2020 20:09

The courtiers and/or their press spokesperson appear very willing to rapidly fire out releases when it comes to William’s reputation and his legal team slap down injustices to prevent any negative personal stories being published. Yet when Meghan was being tormented by the press, there was radio silence.*

Yes PattiPrice - seems that way.
