My 3 year old child doesn't understand the stigma surrounding a toffee penny.

She's eaten them all. Bad parenting on my part, I left the room while she was watching something and I forgot the tin was on the table.

She's left all the good stuff and now we have no idea what will be the last sweetie remaining.

My money is on the plain block in the green wrapper.

I've scrubbed her teeth. Bed time was hell, I've learnt my lesson. I don't need a flaming today.

Wait wait wait are you implying that Toffee Pennys are the worst quality street!? They're my fave!!!

NeedAnExpert · 09/01/2020 23:27

Makes up for the children in developing countries that Nestle can now harm from the profits on their manky chocolate, I guess.

Zebrasinpyjamas · 09/01/2020 23:28

I love the plain blocks. Pink (?) Coconut ones are hideously inedible imo.

You surely aren’t implying the the toffee penny is the worst quality street? Shock

megletthesecond · 09/01/2020 23:33

The toffee penny is the only edible quality street.

NemophilistRebel · 09/01/2020 23:33

It’s not THE worst but it’s up there with the coconut and the solid chocolate for sure

Only ones worth rating are strawberry cream and geeen triangle Grin

thaegumathteth · 09/01/2020 23:34

OP I'd like you to think of me - I was allergic to chocolate as a child and I was only allowed the toffee penny. Imagine. Even worse was that my inconsiderate siblings were not allergic.

Horehound · 09/01/2020 23:34

Toffee penny is the BEST one!

Queenest · 09/01/2020 23:35

I’m with you OP, toffee penny is always the last in the tin.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 09/01/2020 23:35

My dd loves the plain bar and the toffee penny. She is an oddity.

Onewardsup · 09/01/2020 23:36

The toffee penny is about the 4th from the end in our house. What the blue and purple ones? They always get left. They’ve been left for so many years that I now don’t know what they are, what if we were wrong all along?!

Bluerussian · 09/01/2020 23:38

What's wrong with toffee pennies? I didn't know there was any stigma around them.

I hope you waited a while before cleaning her teeth, you're not supposed to do it immediately after a tooth destroying substance has been consumed, it rubs it in!

Your daughter will be fine, a bit of what you fancy does you good sometimes (maybe not all in one go).

Ifixbrokenthings · 09/01/2020 23:38

This made me laugh loudly. I gave up on the tin with just the toffee pennies and those toffee sticks left. Poor relations of the rest of the QS family if you ask me 😂

GoGoJo · 09/01/2020 23:39

You leave the purple ones?!
I don't think I've ever experienced anything so wrong.

OhamIreally · 09/01/2020 23:42

Green triangle for me. Only one worth having. The purple ones shaped like a Brazil nut I'm sure used to have a Brazil nut in them but now it's a hazelnut.

Usingmyindoorvoice · 09/01/2020 23:43

Send her round here, I hate the toffees.

Usingmyindoorvoice · 09/01/2020 23:44

Does she do Stilton too?
Asking for a friend....

Sparklybaublefest · 09/01/2020 23:50

Love the toffee pennies but I am the only one around who eats them, until now
love the fudge too
and the toffee fingers

Newcatmum · 09/01/2020 23:53

The new one is the worst what even is it Confused and what happened to the caramel swirl thing 🤮

ThinkPositiveThoughts · 09/01/2020 23:54

Sorry have I landed on a different planet.

The toffee ones are the best ones. Everything else in the tin gets poisoned by the coffee and orangey flavoured chocolates.

Sparklybaublefest · 09/01/2020 23:56

but there is no coffee flavour

Sparklybaublefest · 09/01/2020 23:57

the orange and strawberry are last to leave the box.

OneTooManyBathtimes · 09/01/2020 23:58

Orange and strawberry creams are the best. Lobe me a toffee penny too.

Can't stand the others really, and allergic to coconut.

TooleyVanDooley · 09/01/2020 23:58

I admire her stamina - a toffee penny is hard work!

AutumnCrow · 09/01/2020 23:59

I hope it was cutted up.
