My 3 year old child doesn't understand the stigma surrounding a toffee penny.

She's eaten them all. Bad parenting on my part, I left the room while she was watching something and I forgot the tin was on the table.

She's left all the good stuff and now we have no idea what will be the last sweetie remaining.

My money is on the plain block in the green wrapper.

I've scrubbed her teeth. Bed time was hell, I've learnt my lesson. I don't need a flaming today.

The strawberry one is last in the tin here!
She’d have a battle on her hands in this house!!

Quality Sweet are horrible. Cant remember if theyve always been so rubbish or if its a new, cheap recipe. Theyre all ridiculously sickly sweet and the same cheap chocolate + ton of sugar taste.

The toffee pennies are pure filth- in the bad way. The always get thrown out with the box.

Now they've done away with toffee deluxe, the toffee penny and the finger are the only two edible sweets in there.

DH likes the purple one and I suppose the green one is ok.

But the rest are not worth the calories.

Whatthefunk · 10/01/2020 16:53

I still mourn the end of peanut cracknell.....Sad

PorpentinaScamander · 10/01/2020 17:04

A year or so ago I would have been horrified as toffee pennies were the worst. This year they were the only edible ones as no rank chocolate was involved. Thankfully my boss gave me heroes so my chocolate cravings are satisfied.

Even more thankfully I proofread this for autocowrongs before posting. As my phone kindly changed heroes to herpes. Hmm That would have been awkward Grin

Dementedmagpie · 10/01/2020 17:06

Orange and strawberry creams are vile and do not deserve to be equated with either chocolate or the fruit they are named after!

GrouchyKiwi · 10/01/2020 17:20

Porpentina Grin

SchadenfreudePersonified · 10/01/2020 17:35

THE CRACKNELL IS THE WORST!!!!!

Yes! I mean WTF is it anyway??

Shards of razor-sharp glass dipped in chocolate designed to rip your gums to shreds . . .

Santasballsack · 10/01/2020 17:40

Why are the purple ones hazelnut? They used to look like braxil shells didnt they. Also agree with pp the cracknell in the shiny red 'double' wrapper was the best!

Santasballsack · 10/01/2020 17:40

Ugh! Brazil

ifeelyoum · 10/01/2020 17:47

A 3 year old eating toffee penny's. Is it just me that's thinks they are way too hard for a child so young to have. I would be worried about choking

FreakStar · 10/01/2020 18:02

Complaining about quality is ridiculous. What do people expect when you are only paying around £7 for a KG of chocolates? You get what you pay for!

iklboo · 10/01/2020 18:07

NOOOO!! Bag them up and send them to me.

lancaster · 10/01/2020 18:09

Eh. Toffee pennies are the best. All the manky creams get left here.

Sgtmajormummy · 10/01/2020 18:26

I haven’t had QS for ages.
Toffee hazelnut is delicious. I used to get just those at Woolworth’s Pick’n’Mix.
Toffee penny is fine. A bit like Thornton’s.
But that tooth-shattering over-sweet red-wrapped cracknell still haunts my nightmares!
