New thread for a new year!

A diary thread for our daily meals, to record, share, glean menu inspiration and chat, but no judging each other’s food choices.

Usual breakfast here but I haven't really had lunch - just not been very hungry! I did have some of DSs teddy bear biscuit from the bakers which I got for him after he'd had his hair cut (at the second attempt). Dinner will be spaghetti bolognese with probably a few glasses of wine later once DS is in bed.

@Shockers tofu stroganoff sounds good, don’t suppose you have the recipe?

B - muesli, flaxseed, banana, yoghurt, maple syrup; two small slices walnut bread and butter
An oat milk turmeric latte and a lotus biscuit
L - feta, grated carrot, salad leaves, olives, red pepper
Some nuts
D - spicy bean and pepper stew with black kale, brown rice and parmesan
A delicious meringue confection

@AwkwardSquad- I had it in the Cornerhouse in Lancaster. If you’re ever in that area, you could try it- it was lovely! It had whole grain mustard in it, but it was a little less creamy than when I’ve had stroganoff before- more tasty though!

B - usual porridge, seeds etc
L - tomato and lentil soup, 2 butternut squash and red pepper vegan sausages chopped up and stirred in, raspberry yoghurt for pud
S - pot of nuts and raisins
D - homemade pizza with peppers, olives, prosciutto, mozzarella. Salad, sweetcorn, coleslaw.
2 glasses of Malbec and a small bar of dark chocolate with orange and almonds.

@Shockers thank you, I will if I am! Did a quick google and found a Guardian recipe for a vegan mushroom and tofu stroganoff, may give it a try.

Yesterday--
B: bowl of shreddies and a banana
L: creamy garlic mushrooms on toast
S: Greek yogurt with raspberries
D: spinach and ricotta filled pasta with garlic oil and parmesan, tenderstem broccoli and asparagus
Glass of red wine, and a gin and tonic. Lemon cheesecake and ice cream.

Gf M&S chocolate twist pastry
The other half of a container of chicken and vegetable broth
Little gem lettuce with vinaigrette, roasted sunflower seeds, and finely grated egg
Pasta Bolognese

Loads of tea with milk and honey through the day

Hot toddy made with brandy, lemon, and honey

Poached eggs on toast with bacon, hash browns and beans and a cappuccino at a cafe
Half a pizza for dinner

L- leek and roasted kale soup with a poached egg in and mixed seeds on top.

D- veg and lentil lasagna with garlic bread.

6 Cadbury eclair toffees.

1/2 slice spelt bread with Nutella Blush
L - leftover bean chilli, grated cheese, salad. 2 digestives, cheddar, grapes
D - paella, orange and polenta cake, wine.
S - nuts, raisins, wasabi peas

Early D: left over Dominos pizza 3 slice
S: Apple with peanut butter, some crisps, tiger bread and butter, a glass of red

B - toasted walnut bread, cream cheese, sliced avocado, watercress, pomegranate molasses; handful of nuts
L - cauliflower and cheddar soup, slice of bread, a few chips
Dried fruit pastry, raspberry white chocolate
D - salmon, pak choi, tenderstem broccoli, spring onions, sesame seeds, soy ginger honey sauce; a pear and a few grapes

We've driven home to the south west from scotland today, I'm hungover and craving something that isn't prosecco or rich food!

B- big tub prepped fruit and a skyr yoghurt (services breakfast)
L- m&s prawn layered salad + carrot sticks with hummus snack pack (services lunch)
S- skinny latte and pop chips (services snack)
D- grilled chicken burger in a wholemeal bun, salad- finally home!
S- will be some porridge I think with pb and banana

B: granola with milk, banana, berries and almonds
L: tun cheese melt wrap with side salad. An orange and a yoghurt.
S: chocolate biscuit.
D: cheese & tomato risotto, garlic bread, tenderstem broccoli
Cheese and crackers in the evening.

Today--
B: Greek yogurt, banana, blueberries, nuts & honey; slice of toast with blackcurrant jam.
L: cheese & beans on toast. Lemon cake.
Grazed all afternoon on Chocolate and biscuits.
D: sausages in onion gravy, mashed potatoes, tenderstem broccoli, carrots and peas.
Currently having a hot chocolate before bed.

Raisin toast with super roasted crunchy peanut butter

A few bites of leftover pasta Bolognese

A smoked salmon gf sandwich from Pret

Beetroot risotto with peas and walnuts, salad
Grilled pineapple with chili and coconut sorbet

Red wine

Today I was violently ill.

Had a few bites of a mexican pepper stew with egg, plus half a cup of tea. This didn't go well, though I think the food was probably objectively good.

Much later, I had a piece of buttered toast, some grapes, and a glass of chocolate milk. I'm now making honey ginger tea.

Yesterday

B: wholemeal seedy toast with lurpak lighter
L: cheese and spinach omelette, small packet of quavers, apple
S: creme egg, one piece of garlic bread (leftover from DC dinner!)
D: pasta bolognaise, made with 60g wholewheat pasta, extra lean beef mince, tonnes tomatoes and vegetables. Sprinkling of Parmesan.
S: multipack dairy milk, muller light chocolate yoghurt

I hope you don’t mind me joining in, I love these sorts of threads! I’m 32 weeks pregnant so could use some accountability so I don’t just eat carbs and chocolate Blush

B: peach yoghurt, nutragrain breakfast soft bake, apple juice
S: 2 small easy peel oranges, cup of decaf tea
L: 2 hummus and salad mini wraps, sour cream and black pepper sunbites, few handfuls of crispy m&ms
D: Mac and cheese, side salad
S: tonight will either be homemade biscoff brownie bites or toffee and pecan shortbread (old habits die hard!!!) and another cup of tea

Also trying to drink more water, did just under 1 litre today

A large slice of banana loaf, 2 coronation chicken rolls and a packet of squares crisps. Some chocolate peanuts. Going to have Katsu curry and egg fried rice for dinner.
