Just seen a famous person in Aldi but I don’t know who

He’s older, late sixties, early seventies. Tall, white, slim, glasses, white/gray hair. Very well spoken/posh. I’m not 100% about whether he’s a journalist/broadcaster or an actor. Nothing obvious on Google..... a bit vague I know but if Mumsnet can find someone’s ring in Archway I am sure it can help me identify this guy!

Bit late to post but just wanted to share was SO excited recently to serve Bev Bevan in the department store where I work. He was very nice and looked just like he had walked off stage! I was looking around for colleagues to see but non around and when I excitedly told them they were all emmmm who? Till I enlightened them with some songs then they were oh All ages too oh well I enjoyed the encounter

Everytime I'm in South Ken I see a famous, but my memory is shocking so I call my BIL and we have a conversation when I give him very vague people that this person looks like and he eventually either guesses or doesn't and then it will come to me at another time all together, so far I have seen,

Maggie Smith (DS had to move me along) (as the world biggest potter fan, I did know who she was immediately)

Anne Widdecombe - unfortunately I knew who she was and resisted all temptation to trip her up as she walked past.

Paul Bradley and Stephanie Cole (whom I knew I knew but didn't know where from)

Disfordarkchocolate Anthony Head lives near me and is often seen in the local shop and garage. You wouldn't be disappointed as he is always very polite and courteous. Most people are used to seeing him around so don't bother him or his family, but if any of the local kids stop to ask him about his roles, he takes the time to engage with them.

I can't imagine Mr Whitehall going in an Aldi, I love the thought though.

It doesn't surprise me that Jack Whitehall's dad was shopping in Aldi at all.

The first person I personally knew - in the UK - to shop in Lidl (this was a good 20 years ago) was a Magic Circle lawyer. She over-extended on her mortgage, so needed to be thrifty.

Also knew a very, very MC family (children went to top flight boarding schools) where the mum often used to be found buying 'basics' in Primark.

@Disfordarkchocolate Anthony Head lives quite near to wear i work and I used to bump into him in the post office (before they closed it down) quite often. He would always stand and have a chat. Lovely guy.

Lots of lucky people on here who have met Antony Head. My husband sees the local celebs around, I walk past them without noticing them. We have no one of the calibre of Antony Head.
