Oh my calf’s are cramping like crazy. I am going to drink more water before my W2R3 tomorrow.

MrsHerculePoirot · 11/01/2020 22:02

W1R2 done!

redavocado · 12/01/2020 12:37

Just back from week 3, run 1! It was tough but not as hard as I expected and I managed to run for the three minutes each time. Grin

Well done redavocado! That's my next run and bricking it a little. I was going to follow the seasoned posters advice about not looking ahead in the app but then someone else posted it! I guess that's the downside with us all being at different stages

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 12/01/2020 13:08

Just done W2R3 and I managed to knock another 30 seconds off my pace (still VERY slow though). It was tough but I really pushed myself on the running segments. Bring on W3!

sovielverloren · 12/01/2020 13:09

A confession: I didn't run yesterday. Really didn't feel up to it (dh has been ill so I wondered if I was coming down with it). BUT this morning I woke up and went out at 8am for w2r1. Penultimate run was the hardest but overall it was all pretty achievable and I continue to be amazed that this is me!!

redavocado · 12/01/2020 13:29

Oops, I think that was probably me myfuckingfreezer - sorry! I quite like knowing what's coming up but I can see how it could be off putting as well.

Well done myghastisflabbered and sovielverloren ! Sounds like you're both doing fab!! Keep it up!

katzenellenbogen · 12/01/2020 14:40

Quite looking forward to the start of week 2 tomorrow. Been out and treated myself to some new gear this weekend.

OH said to me on Friday that if someone had told him 3 weeks ago that I would be setting the alarm to go out running before breakfast he would have thought he was hallucinating Grin

myfuckingfreezer · 12/01/2020 14:47

Oh gosh no worries redavocado! Didn't mean to sound snippy Smile and TBF it can't be a surprise that there's going to be running each week Wink

sovielverloren · 12/01/2020 15:31

katzenellenbogen we're at the same level and funnily enough I bought new stuff today too! Just leggings and t shirts from Sainsbury's sport range, but a step up from the ancient t shirts and baggy joggers I have been wearing. After 4 runs I felt I could be confident that they would actually get worn! Hope your run tomorrow goes well.

CormoranStrike · 12/01/2020 16:07

W2R3 done - gosh that was hard, but I did every single step.

I’d also done a one hour dog walk this morning, so rather proud of myself over all.

katzenellenbogen · 12/01/2020 16:28

@sovielverloren Thank you! Will report back if I haven't fallen in the lake Grin

The stuff I was using had been in a gym bag since we left the UK several years ago, so I thought I deserved some new stuff (and it was birthday money so even better!)

Applesandpears23 · 12/01/2020 18:33

I ran week 2 run 1 this morning. I did it thinking of you guys all doing this too. It was better than I thought but the middle runs were quite hard going.

BreastOfIntentions · 12/01/2020 19:17

Week 4 Run 1 just finished - well the intensity certainly escalated between weeks 3 and 4 😱

lotusbell · 12/01/2020 19:30

Week 1, run 2 done! Can't say it was easier than the first as I still felt I was just kidding but was glad I did it. Going to push myself a bit more on the next one. Well done everyone, keep it up!

frustratedashell · 12/01/2020 19:35

Did Week 2, run 2 this morning. Went well. A while later I decided to see how long I could run for, bearing in mind that I was doing 90 seconds of running. I managed 3 minutes which surprised and delighted me!
Really enjoying this. Hope to be able to afford some proper running shoes soon .
Well done to everyone else for their efforts

lotusbell · 12/01/2020 21:00

Plodding, not kidding!

sovielverloren · 13/01/2020 07:43

Really pleased for you @lotusbell! I think what's really helped me is knowing that there is a plan to improve, and that there is no shame in starting at a really low level. That's been quite a block for me over the years.

lotusbell · 13/01/2020 07:56

@sovielverloren, thank you, very encouraging!

beenrumbled · 13/01/2020 08:51

I've just done WK2R1 - I was dreading running for 90 seconds but I seemed to cope ok I did it! It wasn't easy but I didn't feel as bad as I expected, so I'm pleased.

I have to set my alarm for 5.30 on Wednesday and Friday to run before work - not looking forward to that. And I've not had to face running in bad weather yet, so that will be a challenge when it happens Grin

katzenellenbogen · 13/01/2020 09:36

Wk2 R1 done here this morning.

Temperature was minus 1 - soon warmed up though.

90 seconds seems soooooo much longer than 60.

IsolaPribby · 13/01/2020 09:58

Just done W2R1 here too! It was OK! Hard but doable. Towards the middle end when brisk walking was hard, I tried to move my arms more strongly to make up for my tired legs!

What made a big difference for me also this morning were headphones which didn't constantly fall out of my ears! But I think I need a different play list? Can anyone recommend any great tracks or lists on Amazon Music?

beenrumbled · 13/01/2020 10:32

I'm listening to an 80s compilation - I thinks its "what a feeling!" - all the hits from my yoof Grin

Not sure what I will move onto next.

myfuckingfreezer · 13/01/2020 11:22

I'm in a dilemma. Day 1 of heavy painful period and should be doing W3R1. Do I go and run a new harder run while uncomfortable or stay home with a hot water bottle?

If don't run today, I'll only get 2 runs in this week as away with work.

redavocado · 13/01/2020 11:42

I postponed the same run on sat because of bad period pains. You could always do the third week 3 run at the beginning of what would technically be week 4? Hope you feel better soon!
